Makes sense since it's steps off from the Municipal Building! There's more to La Luz's menu but the star is their burros. The morning I walked in, it wasn't too busy. The gal running the ship was so kind! I looked at the menu ahead of time so I knew a Bobbie Burro would be hearty enough. Had to wait a little time so I sat down and read the paper. She gave me both red & green sauces since I wasn't sure what my spice tolerance would be. I stopped in Globe for lunch intending to try another place, but it was closed due to flood damage. So I came here as it was well regarded on Yelp. When I arrived, it was already very crowded with no tables available. So I took a seat at the counter. Soon, I was brought coffee and water. As they were slammed, it took a little while for my order to be taken, but not too long. I ordered two different kinds of burritos, coffee and pie. All was very good and I had tithe chance to watch the cook methodically working on half a dozen orders as they came in. Everything looked appetizing. The last time I was there I ordered some menudo and it came in a small bowl and it was not my favorite thing I was looking forward to trying. So of course I was disappointed. I don't live in those mining towns as I used to when I was in H.S. But I do remember a lady named Delores who was the owner of this restaurant. She's retired now. And I remember having a hamburger years ago when I was in High School and it was a really good hamburger that I really enjoyed back then. Good old memories. So we arrived waiting 20 minutes to eat our food because priority was checking people out. The food was cold by the time it came to me and then when we were trying to check out, I ask if I could get the check and I am told that the people that haven't eaten first our priority, when when we got here, it seems like checking people out was priority instead of getting our order and bringing us food. Found myself in Globe and read about La Luz in the local paper. So went for breakfast and was happy I did. Very friendly staff and good food for the price. I liked getting a big bottle of salsa to use as much as I like, which is a lot! But waitress forgot my toast. No biggy, they were busy on a Saturday morning. They're a hidden little hole in the wall restaurant. They serve some of the best breakfast platters in the area. I always get the Huevos Ranchero w/ 2 eggs and a tortilla. If your not a big eater like me, they also serve a small order with only 1 egg. My wife usually gets this. But the other items on the menu are just as great I've heard! The only problem is that seating is limited. If you arrive when it's busy, you might have to wait for a table or booth to open up. Or you could sit at the diner table on the stools and watch your food get cooked right in front of you! Pretty cool! The service makes up for the limited seating though because they are very quick and nice! I enjoy coming here every chance I get! They Closed Early and The staff was polite and apologetic for the inconvenience and telling me to have a good day, except one lady that was locking the door was very rude when i was trying to come in and she locked the the door then was very rude when me and this other guy where trying to leave she was rude opening the door and didn't even say bye or anything basically she was like get the hell out and why the hell are you coming in, and with the closing for good you'd expect they would like to get any business they could and that lady would think not to be rude to someone trying to give her business and it just takes one person being rude to ruin a business and I probably won't try going there for the rest of their time and If anyone ask me about it I won't recommend it because of that lady. read more

The server then ignored us for 20 minutes while she tended to others that came in after us, tended to others already seated, and we never got our water even. She never took our orders.
