Ive been on Yelp since 2006 (close to 20 years and well before Google maps or reviews ever existed) and without it, I would have missed out on a lot of cool and neat places like this! La Luz Del Dia means "the light of the day" in Spanish and boy is this place bright and cheery and the perfect start to a glorious and beautiful Sunday morning. You know this place is gonna be good because as I drove down the deserted road nary a car through downtown Globe and arrive at this place, you see a bunch of cars parked huddled near this place. I knew it wws gonna be good. I walk into this unassuming place and almost every table is taken at close to 9am on Sunday. There were a few seats at the counter facing the open kitchen so I made a beeline to sit down. Wait staff and customers in here are so nice and friendly! The cute girls working here are fast and efficient, and super sweet and all with a smile. I was pretty hungry as I hadn't eaten since Friday breakfast and was ready to gobble up a good breakfast. I had a chorizo burro (same as a burrito, still trying to figure out the difference) and a cup of coffee. Coffee was ok, and did the job. But, the burro was great! Southwest breakfast burritos are some of the best, and when you're in the Southwest, definitely don't pass this up to have. This burro was also huge and despite the fact I was famished, I could only eat a half of my burro. You can get red or green salsa, but since I am a spice pansy, I opted for the red, which was still more spicy than I can handle. By 9:20am, I was finished eating and ready to go. You go up to the cashier and pay there. There's a desert and drinks case by the register and lots of goodies there to choose from too. There was baklava, orange cake and brownies on offer. I also spied a chamoy pickle for sale too, here in the Southwest when the summers get so hot, having a pickle is sometimes in order to replace the salt we lose sweating so much! Overall, I loved this place! Loved the atmosphere as its kind of an old school diner, and everyone in here was a delight and the food was delicious! I'll be back again when coming thru Globe again! Stopped in for Breakfast on my way to Safford. Definitely family owned, very busy location, during my short time there it stayed consistently busy. Tiny location, the counter top is the choice seat. Rode up on a weekday and stopped initially just to get coffee and have a quick bathroom break but decided to stay for breakfast. I had the biscuits and gravy which weren't phenomenal so I wouldn't order again. My husband got the chilaquiles and DEVOURED it. We will definitely be back!! read more

I stopped in here recently from multiple recommendations of numerous City staff who have made La Luz burros part of their weekly breakfast habits. Makes sense since it's steps off from the Municipal Building! There's more to La Luz's menu but the star is their burros. The morning I walked in, it wasn't too busy. The gal running the ship was so kind! I looked at the menu ahead of time so I knew a Bobbie Burro would be hearty enough. Had to wait a little time so I sat down and read the paper. She gave me both red & green sauces since I wasn't sure what my spice tolerance would be. I stopped in Globe for lunch intending to try another place, but it was closed due to flood damage. So I came here as it was well regarded on Yelp. When I arrived, it was already very crowded with no tables available. So I took a seat at the counter. Soon, I was brought coffee and water. As they were slammed, it took a little while for my order to be taken, but not too long. I ordered two different kinds of burritos, coffee and pie. All was very good and I had tithe chance to watch the cook methodically working on half a dozen orders as they came in. Everything looked appetizing. The last time I was there I ordered some menudo and it came in a small bowl and it was not my favorite thing I was looking forward to trying. So of course I was disappointed. I don't live in those mining towns as I used to when I was in H.S. But I do remember a lady named Delores who was the owner of this restaurant. She's retired now. And I remember having a hamburger years ago when I was in High School and it was a really good hamburger that I really enjoyed back then. Good old memories. So we arrived waiting 20 minutes to eat our food because priority was checking people out. The food was cold by the time it came to me and then when we were trying to check out, I ask if I could get the check and I am told that the people that haven't eaten first our priority, when when we got here, it seems like checking people out was priority instead of getting our order and bringing us food. They're a hidden little hole in the wall restaurant. They serve some of the best breakfast platters in the area. I always get the Huevos Ranchero w/ 2 eggs and a tortilla. If your not a big eater like me, they also serve a small order with only 1 egg. My wife usually gets this. But the other items on the menu are just as great I've heard! The only problem is that seating is limited. If you arrive when it's busy, you might have to wait for a table or booth to open up. Or you could sit at the diner table on the stools and watch your food get cooked right in front of you! Pretty cool! The service makes up for the limited seating though because they are very quick and nice! I enjoy coming here every chance I get! They Closed Early and The staff was polite and apologetic for the inconvenience and telling me to have a good day, except one lady that was locking the door was very rude when i was trying to come in and she locked the the door then was very rude when me and this other guy where trying to leave she was rude opening the door and didn't even say bye or anything basically she was like get the hell out and why the hell are you coming in, and with the closing for good you'd expect they would like to get any business they could and that lady would think not to be rude to someone trying to give her business and it just takes one person being rude to ruin a business and I probably won't try going there for the rest of their time and If anyone ask me about it I won't recommend it because of that lady. read more

The town is small but pretty charming with several antique shops and a thrift shop that supports a dog rescue. So, I was craving Mexican food and this place hit the mark!
