Saturday night dinner with friends at La Casita Cafe in Globe, AZ. First time here. Chips and salsa were good, they brought out red and green chili and it was even better. Got schooled on the difference between a Cheese Quesadilla and a Cheese Crisp in Globe. We then ordered a couple of cheese crisps with the red and green chili Christmas Tree Style from New Mexico. Also had a burrito with the red and green chili. It was all good. Prices were very reasonable. Service was ok. All good here. Good family restaurant! read more

Time your visit: they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The food was okay - not what we expected after the rave reviews from locals. Fried tacos with a glob of beef/beef mixture. Deep fried chile relent with lots of cheese in the spicy chile- no sauce smothering it. Green corn tamale was tasty. read more

I grew up in Globe eating at the La Casita A LOT ...but after the flooding it has gone way downhill as far as the food goes. Tiny portions now with less flavor & now they charge extra for everything like rice & beans with a combo. Too bad because I think the owner now worries about her season tickets to the Phoenix Mercury than the food her restaurant is putting out. Go to El Rey in Miami or Guayos for better food without getting ripped off. read more

In my opinion, this is the best Mexican food anywhere. It is the best of Globe-Miami for sure. The red chile is so perfect. Tender, spicy, and always fresh. The enchilada sauce is so good I could drink it. The beans are so flavorful and rich. I would give them 5 stars, but they are very uptight about asking for more hot sauce with to go orders. I drop around $150 to $200 here a month on to-go orders and they want to charge me extra to get just a little more hot sauce. The containers they do provide are only half full and they come around to the tables and scoop up the bottles off your table before you can top off your to-go container. I understand the concept of food cost, but come on... don't lose a great customer over 50 cents worth of hot sauce... read more

Outstanding food. Best burro/burrito I think I've had. I got the machaca chimi with beans in it, topped with green sauce. It was fantastic. Husband got the relleno burro, with beans inside and green sauce on top and it was also fantastic. Kiddo got the meatball soup dish. It was huge and delicious, definitely great for the price. The sign says 'seat yourself' because this place is busy. That should clue you in on how good the food is here. Not only is the food authentic the staff is incredible - they work as a team unit. Seriously. Don't let a little Spanish rice on the floor make you change your mind about eating here. This restaurant is Excellent! read more

La Casita has fed my family for generations, and I have some very fond memories here. The food is some of the best Mexican food you can get, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is very reasonably priced and you get a lot. I always order the flour tortilla chips, just like my great grandmother used to get. For my main entree I love the regular chimichanga with rice and beans on the side. They have fantastic enchiladas as well. La Casita has been in business for over 70 years, and there is a reason for that. read more

The food here is honestly meh, take it from a local. If you're coming to eat here from out of town save yourselves and go to el ranchito that's right down the road from this place instead. Meat in the tacos was mushy, they put butter on the burros probably to disguise the fact that their tortillas are stale and hard but not even the butter can do them much justice. Food is great, service is warm and friendly. What I would suggest to the ownership is to improve the "check paying" process. First off after we were done eating we waited 10min for someone to bring us a check. No one did. We noticed people standing in line to pay at the register so we went up there and we proceeded to stand in line another 10min. I waited tables in college, each of your servers needs to have the ability to issue and cash-out their own checks in order to get people to pay and the table turned quickly. Ok so I look around and there's not much going on in Globe. Lots of places are closed maybe due to the pandemic ( stupid COVID-19). Anyway I dropped in fir a beer and taco and the food was actually good. The beer, well I had Dos Equis, and I ended up getting a combination of taco, tamale and Chile relleno. Sounds like a lot of food but wait, no rice and beans so it was ok. The enchilada sauce was tasty with a picante touch that left my stomach warm. That is some good sauce. Mostly a good lunch on a recent Sunday afternoon. The place was buzzing with bikers, old folks and some locals it appeared. My theory is that most other places in the godforsaken downtown were closed leading everybody and their uncle to La Casita. The main complaint was the lack of any beef in the beef enchiladas. The beef was very tiny pieces and more of a "beef sauce" on top of the food. We almost returned the food because we thought it was a cheese enchilada (those were good) by mistake. Other than that, the rice, beans, the chili Relleno, the homemade tortilla with butter were pretty tasty. The Chips though were from a bag and underwhelming salsa was in a squeeze bottle. Might be worthy of a lunch if your visiting downtown, but doubt you would return unless you lived in Globe. read more

Two Words: SERVICE SUCKS! Here's my story.... My Wife and I decide on a road trip to Globe for the day and try some Mexican food as people from "Globe" consistently say it's the rave. So, when we get there I pull out my cell and Yelp app then look for some good reviews. This place called La Casita Cafe looks promising. It's about 2 pm when we walk in, about half the place is filled, maybe about 5 employees in the front working. So.. no one comes up and says anything, we're just standing there looking like buffoons for about 3 minutes. I tell my Wife let's just find a table and just sit down and someone has to come. We sit and sit... for about 4 more minutes. I say I'm going to the bathroom to my Wife and I'm sure someone will come then. (right).. and just like I said they come to our table when I was away.. ha-ha We order our food. As we're sitting there chatting I notice they bring out the customers dinner on this plastic rolling 3 level small cart. What's interesting to me about this method of delivering food on it, is that the bottom level is about 10 inches off the ground. The floors are dirty, dusty. Who would like hair and grit in their guacamole today?!! Anyone? ha-ha... sick. Our food comes out relatively quick (great). But the waitress says we've ran out of forks and they're being washed. (I'm thinking WTF, this is a first). I tell the lady uhm okay.. Waitress says they'll be out soon and I'll get them to your table. So................. my wife eats her beef taco and I pick at my food with the tortilla chips. About 5 minutes goes by, by wife goes over and asks about the forks or even plastic forks. They're still not ready!! hahaha.. (I'm thinking of eating my food with a damn spoon by now or butter knife) Another 2 minutes go by and I ask another lady she leaves and doesn't come back. So out waitress shows up and I gripe, she says... "OH I'm so sorry I'll get those for you and comes back with them". This place is a joke!! For lunch wife gets the beef taco, cheese enchilada and beef tamale. I get the red chili beef burrito enchilada style with rice and beans. I tried some of my wife's food and for the most part we both agreed it was regular. We could get this pretty much anywhere. I almost gave this place 2 stars because the food was average at best, but nah.. Eek Methinks not.. I'm not coming back here.. Oh and..... (circus continues) As we're leaving the waitress catches us outside the door and says we charged you the table. This is a true.. what a fiasco.. AND.... WE DIDN"T GET THE BOTTOM RUNG ON THE CART!!!!! We'd give ZERO STARS if this shop would let us! We get here, and my wife asks the busses if we seat ourselves? She says, "Grab a table as fast as you can." So my wife sits at one, and the girl says, "That table's reserved." REALLY??? Then why not say that before telling her to grab a table? Our waitress was HORRIBLE!!!!!! Never came back to fill our drinks! Was giving us the wrong meals. After waiting 20 minutes of EVERYONE'S drink being empty and just watching her doing about nothing at the cash register area, I went up and agreed if she could come fill everyone's drink? No apology and ASK TOOK AN ADDITIONAL 10 minutes while doing NOTHING UP THERE! when she did finally come to fill drinks, we were all done eating, and we asked for a meal to go. After waiting 30+ minutes, I saw her again not working at the cashier AGAIN, leaving us all (6 + a baby) hanging... so, I went up there again, I told her to "cancel the to go order as we've been done done eating for about 40 minutes at this point. Please give us our tabs so we can leave." She proceeded to tell the other girl to handkerchief it and went inbuilt the kitchen... AGAIN Ignoring us! The food here is delicious and the portions are substantial. Our waitress, Stacy was a menu tour guide with the best suggestions. We had the cheese crisp with both green and red chile, guacamole, gollo burro, sopapillos and some other tasty dishes. From now on, I'll bring guest stories La Casita when visiting Globe.
