This place was recommended to us from a local antique dealer two towns over. We were very glad we made the drive here. There was a huge menu and we decided to get the number three combo platter that had a pork, tamale, cheese, enchilada, and beef taco. He had the Carne Asada with green chili and cheese. Solid food. Very attentive service, but not overbearing. Ambience was great! Very welcoming and was very busy, but not to the point where there was a wait at all. We would highly recommend this place if you want a solid home-cooked and fresh meal. read more

Guayo's El Rey is one of those places I will happily keep coming back to, and honestly, a huge part of the reason is their enchilada sauce. Oh. My. God. The sauce. I am not exaggerating when I say I could drink their enchilada sauce straight out of a coffee mug. It is THAT good. It has so much flavor, and it completely makes the meal for me. I could probably put it on just about anything and be happy. The food is flavorful, filling, and exactly what I want when I am craving Mexican food. The portions are generous, the atmosphere has that comfortable local restaurant feel, and the service makes you feel welcome. But seriously, did I mention the enchilada sauce? There are restaurants you remember because you had a good meal, and then there are restaurants where you find that one thing you start craving later. Guayo's enchilada sauce is absolutely that for me. If they ever start selling that stuff by the gallon, someone please let me know. I'll bring my own coffee mug. read more

Post flood clean up underway in Miami. Arizona. Guayas El Rey is at end of street. It's Monday at 2:00 pm and place is packed with lots of workers/volunteers. First time at restaurant. Enjoying a lunch with Ed who was born in Miami over 90 years ago. We both ordered #6 combination plates with a burrito, taco and cheese enchilada. Place is a local favorite. Servers and cooks were slammed for hours and provided exceptional friendly service. Homemade chips and salsa were fine. The cheese enchilada was very tasty. The taco had a shredded beef and the burrito had nice chunks of beef. Right amount of heat. Price was under $12. No need for rice and beans, could not finish what was served. One of the best in the Copper Triangle Area. Put this one on your list. All good here! read more

This is probably the best in Miami, AZ if you judge by just how many diners are in here. I fired up both Google and Yelp to see what was good in this area and both apps recommended this spot. I needed a break after driving for 3 hours and needed to eat and use the washroom so this place worked out nicely for me. They have booth seats and in the middle larger tables for bigger parties. I sat in a booth and service from the women working here was very good! I loved their fresh made chips and homemade salsa that came in carafes. I even asked to take home the salsa, which I have never done before! Yum! I ordered the tamale plate but couldn't really substitute out the beans, which I did not like. I have tried so many times to develop a healthy relationship with pinto beans and refried beans, but no matter what, I just hate them. I can't figure out why I don't like them, I think it's the mushy consistency and just don't enjoy them. Not the restaurant's fault at all. The tamale was good and the rice flavorful. Next time, I'll just ask for double portion rice. I had a margarita but didn't really enjoy it. Was too spirit forward for me. Next time, I'll try a frozen one instead. As you can see, I am planning to come back! The place had character, and I'd come back just for the chips and salsa and great service! Great spot in Miami and looks like everyone knows about this place! read more

Beautiful people overall great experience as far as service goes. However, I'm one of those people who expect restaurant food to be as good as mine or better. I'm learning that in the globe Miami area, green chili anything means, a small piece of meat and a whole bunch of green chili. Even when I ask if I can have some meat with the green chili and don't mind paying extra for it if that's what I have to do but then I get two more small pieces of meat. As I mentioned, I don't think it's just this restaurant. I feel like it's the whole globe Miami community. I'm from Los Angeles so we're used to chunks of meat and green chili as a balanced portion. Otherwise, lovely place good nice people. read more

The Globe-Miami area has a remarkable number of really good Mexican restaurants, but for my money, this is the best one. It can get a little busy at times, but the service is usually friendly and quite efficient. As for the food, it is very good! I'm partial to the chicken specials, but the popular no. 6 is always a good option on the menu. So if you are visiting the area, or just passing through on the way to Roosevelt Lake or the White Mountains, consider stopping here for a tasty, authentic Sonoran-style meal. read more

Second time here; place is streaming with tourists. This place pops with friendly service and great freshly prepared foods. The salsa is plentiful and fresh. I ordered a chicken taco salad which comes with or without the shell! (And I kept finding more pieces of chicken breast throughout the mix.) My girlfriend had the taco combo plate. Decent prices and great food! The service is exceptional. Come and enjoy if passing through. read more

Guayos El Rey - 2 tacos rice and beans - Mexican Near Me - Miami, Arizona

The food and service are good. We tried the beef tacos, and it was great. The rice and beans were okay, and the chile Verde had pretty tender meat and plenty of green chile. Something about the preparation impressed me, but I could not quite identify what it was. read more

Food is always delicious and customer service is always excellent. Highly recommend this place

My family has been driving from Scottsdale to Miami/Globe to eat at El Ray for decades. As an AZ native I can say it's the best!!

Consistently wonderful food and service. I love ALL Globe & Miami Mexican food, but these people are the finest and consistent experience. It's a must stop. If you're having a party, reserve the larger banquet room. You won't be disappointed. read more

Guayos El Rey - Green chili half n half plate with beans - Mexican Near Me - Miami, Arizona

Seriously one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. Casual, great service and incredible food. The chips that everyone mentions are fantastic, as well as the mild and hot salsas they make in house. Bottomless!! I ordered the Chile Verde Chimichanga and it was fantastic. Everything was flavorful. Too often I get Mexican food and the rice is bland. The beans are bland. The filling often is bland. Not here! Everything was stellar. Dining companion had the #6 combination and loved every component. We'll be back soon! read more

We are glad we tried Guayos El Rey in Miami. The staff could not have been nicer. Extremely popular, casual Mexican restaurant. Our food was very good. We had takeout since we had our dogs with us. I liked the vibe and wished we could have dined in. My husband ordered chicken tacos and got beef tacos that were great. My chicken enchilada with green sauce was yummy. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant--black beans are not an option and not sure if you can sub out corn for flour . Recommended if no food allergies. They do have a taco salad option. read more

Stumbled on this place by chance. What a nice surprise! Service was great and the food was delicious! The chips were a mix of corn and flour and the salsa was so good. I had a taco/chili rellanos/tostada plate. I took the tostada home. The taco was crisp and very good and my fav was the chili rellano. Hubs had a chicken chimichanga and said it was very good. All in all a great meal. If they served Diet Coke instead of pepsi it would have been perfect but beer was icy cold. Thumbs up. read more

A great lunch spot on the way up to Pinetop-Lakeside from the Phoenix East valley area. This place was recommended by a friend who grew up in Miami. Great Mexican food, reasonably priced, good portions. Loved their flour tortilla chips! Service was good, not great, but they were quite busy. read more

We waited for about 8 minutes for them to seat us. Then after finally getting seated, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes to be asked for drinks. We then waited about another 15 minutes to get our order taken. Fortunately, the food came promptly, but was flavorless and was subpar in our opinion. Never did have the waitress come by again to ask if everything was okay or even ask if we wanted another round of drinks. After waiting at least 15 minutes after eating and hoping for another drink, had to go retrieve our ticket so we could pay for the food and leave. Not impressed and would never return or recommend to others. read more

Food is bueno. We came for the chips and salsa. We left with full tummies. Great family place.

This place was recommended by locals in Globe, and it did not disappoint. It felt like you were going to eat a family member's house. Felt very welcoming and the food was great. It's not fancy, not cookie cutter, or fast food (although the food did come out fast), and the quality of the food was very good, taste incredible. The combination of food and servers, who again felt like family, completed the ambiance of this gem of an institution. read more

We have come here about 10 years but my family has been coming for generations. It is the best Sonoran style mexican food in Arizona. I have never gotten a bad item or experience. Guayos El Rey - Bean and Cheese Burrito and Shredded Beef Taco - Mexican Near Me - Miami, Arizona

We were driving home from Show Low and passing through Globe/Miami + needed a place to eat and were in the mood for Mexican food. Guayo's look delish so we decided to stop in. It was PACKED on Sunday at lunchtime! Regardless, the service was quick and food was fabulous! This is definitely your comfort Mexican food joint and we loved everything about it. They bring you two small carafes of salsa and tasty homemade chips to start. The salsa tasted fresh and delicious. We also ordered a cheese crisp to start and it was definitely CRISPY! Perfection. For my entree, I ordered a bowl of their albondigas soup and it was yummy. A lighter broth than I have had at other restaurants but still tasty and would make a great soup when sick! My margarita definitely tasted like artificial mix and not fresh lime juice so i'm not sure if i'd get that again. But all in all, we loved our meal and would definitely come back when driving through Globe/Miami. read more

Really nothing, I can say that hasn't already been said, but if you're in the area, you should check this place out. Great food, but a little slow on the service, so if you're in a hurry, this isn't the place you should try. The chili relano was by far my favorite, but everything we had was really good. read more

It seemed like we were inconveniencing them. The food was not good. The one delicious thing was the shredded beef.

Have been eating here and enjoying it since I was a kid and now when I come back to town I still enjoy stopping here to eat.

Wow! My boyfriend saw this place advertised on Arizona Highways. So we took a day trip to check it out. Nestled deep into the small and forgotten little mining town of Miami Az! But wow ! Big flavor and unforgettable service ! The place was packed but the staff did such a great job getting us seated and it was quick to get our food out! I had the best chili relleno of my life! Someone finally got it right! The salsas were amazing and the chips were made of flour tortilla and so addicting! Even the Diet Coke was a good formula and tasted good. To top it off , the owner came and talked to us. She was very kind and welcoming. We praised her ! Our waitress was quick and friendly. Over all great experience! We got out of there with full belly's for under 30 bucks! This is definitely a new favorite!!! read more
