A great little place. We got here early so we picked a seat. By the time we left they were packed though. The sandwich was very good. Everything was very good (except the Apple salad but that's my taste). The salads are generous. If you're a salad person you should get one here. The strawberry short cake is delicious and large... share that one. The Apple salad is apples with Mayo, I just wouldn't get that again but apparently it's a traditional dish. All in all a great restaurant to check out in Oshkosh and a short drive from the campus.

    Total potion of fries!

Stoped in to Chalice for the first time and was underwhelmed by the food. I ordered a Chicken Philly and though the bun was huge and filled with lots of grilled peppers, mushrooms and onions, the "Philly " was 3 chicken tenders. I also ordered fries and though they said they only had "American fries" I was again underwhelmed. The portion was about 1/3 of a small potato sliced thin and pan fried. They were not exactly worth the $4.50. Outside of the food the atmosphere was nice and though the bar tender was overworked she was pleasant. Finally, as I was ready to leave, I learned that there was a dinner special for the night.

Always a fantastic place to come. Fireplace burning, excellent bartender. And my favorite "Hot Italian Salad" with tenderloin bites and the Chalice sauce that's incredible. You can't go wrong with anything here!

Always have to start with an old fashioned, nuts & bolts and chalice sauce.

One of my favorite spots in oshkosh. A nice casual, cozy spot that can make a great cocktail and makes a mean sandwich. There's also plenty of other options on the menu that should suit everybody's tastes.

    Great food and atmosphere

They removed their delicious bluegill sandwich and replaced it with a walleye sandwich (frozen? Processed?) topped with a vinegary sauce - the whole thing was simply not good. Brussel and kale salad was very greasy. Beer can chicken and ranch dressing were excellent as were their fries. I would recommend reading the menu very carefully to understand their ingredients and approach to food prep. There are items that are very good, a person needs to find those.

It was very nicely decorated for the holidays. Lots of pretty lights and even blow up decor hanging from the ceiling. They did a very nice job on that. Our server came to our table promptly and took our orders in a timely manner. She refilled our drinks without asking, and was super polite. Here's the crazy thing... with such a nice environment and good service we are amazed that the food could be SO BAD. We ordered an appetizer of cheese curds. When they came out they were coated in oil to the extent that they left a puddle on the plate. No crunch to them at all. They were hot, but with the amount of grease on them I could only stomach a few. This is where it got worse. I ordered a French dip and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich. His came out burnt, dry, and missing the hot honey sauce the menu claimed was on it. My "French dip" was wrapped in paper and seemed like it came straight out of the microwave. It looked and tasted like it was filled with beef cat food pate. I asked our server if she could switch it out for a salad, which she politely did for me. I simply cannot fathom how such a nice looking place with good service could have such bad food. The French fries were good and the coke was bubbly, but we will not be coming back. According to the website, everything is locally sourced and homemade but that did not match our experience...

There were quite a few fast food and sandwich options close, but this had more a super club vibe which we were after. We weren't disappointed! They served prime rib on Thursday and red meat sounded like a perfect choice. Dinner started with a choice of two sides, so I had a cup of the Chicken Andouille and rice soup which warmed my heart. It was delightfully spicy. The prime rib was done to perfection and the au jus was flavorful. My wife had the pretzel crusted salmon with a mustard sauce on the side, asparagus and mashed potatoes. She hadn't had salmon done that way before and thought it was great. Will definitely return our next trip to Oshkosh.

This restaurant is also right next to an airfield with a large outdoor seating section. We came for dinner & the sun was already down, although it was still 70 degrees outside we sat inside. Our hostess asked us if we wanted anything to drink & we just asked for water, she promptly brought us 2 plastic cups of water. This was just a bit strange to me because all of the other tables around us, had glassware. Our server was great, when I asked for recommendations he had several, including the French dip, the Hangar curd burger, & the Tuscan chicken penne. The Friday night special was Fish Fry but I was not in the mood for anymore fried food. My husband ordered the French dip & I decided to try the pan fried Walleye since I've never had Walleye before, which is a local fish. My husband really enjoyed his French dip, and it was a really good size portion, stuffed with thin slices of roast beef, sautéed onions & mushrooms & melted mozzarella cheese. The French bread was lightly toasted & the au jus was tasty. I really enjoyed my pan fried Walleye entree. The fish was nice and light and they cooked it with the skin on but really crisped it up. It was served on a bed of pesto mashed potato's and topped with sautéed spinach & blistered grape tomato's then drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Lots of flavor & great textures. I was very satisfied with my choice. I'd definitely recommend this place.
