I had a fish taco and a calamari taco. I like them both I wish that the shell was grilled a little bit harder. The spicy crema on it was amazing. I love the chips and salsa the salsa was really fresh. My partner had a three chicken enchiladas . The food was good. Thank you. The staff is very attentive. read more

Mixed results. Limited staff meant that when three tables arrived at the same time ours got slow service. I wouldn't serve the enchiladas to anybody. The shrimp tacos and the salsa were very good. The fajitas looked good but didn't live up to the looks. They actually served a bowl of thin bean soup as an order of refried beans. Hard to believe that neither the kitchen nor wait staff saw what was being served-quality is not one of their offerings yet. read more

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant. The fajitas were super and plentiful! It was the best horchata I've ever had. Service was great! The only thing was the decor inside and out were in need of an upgrade. But don't let the decor put you off. We had a great meal! read more

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend the veggie and fish tacos, as well as the gobernador taco. We ended up stopping here twice on our trip to arches/zion because we loved it so much! read more

Great food The waiter was good was able to we were there with a group of 12 and I split the check and was very nice about doing that

Really tasty Mexican food! It's a small town that brings in a ton of tourism so make sure to tip well!

Torrey is restaurant hell. Beer is on the menu but they don't actually serve beer. We were seated right away but the waiter ignored us for twenty minutes. Food is not even good Mexican by Utah standards, which is really low. read more

We ordered take-out tonight and it was wonderful. The chile relleno and chicken mole were delicious. Our meal was ready when promised and packaged so that the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold when we got to our hotel. The chips and salsa were a nice bonus. read more

If you're ever in the Torrey area when visiting Capitol Reef National Park, please do yourself the favor of stopping here. The food is fresh and authentic, the staff is super friendly and most importantly, the food is delicious! Best meal we've had in our entire trip throughout Utah- hands down. Do not leave without at LEAST trying the churros. BEST CHURROS IVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! They were to die for! I'm sad I won't get to have them again. read more

Went back for breakfast and the food was pretty sub par. Wish the huevos rancheros were a little spicy at least. Our server was very kind! But the food isn't the highest quality. read more

Like every other review... don't judge this book by its cover. It's an unassuming building but it is impeccably clean with clean bathrooms. The staff was super welcoming and the food came out fast. The food was delicious and clearly cooked with fresh ingredients. Felt like a home cooked meal! Would definitely come again and again if we weren't just passing through town. read more

Excellent tacos fish and shrimp. Looks somewhat funky but we'll worth the visit. New family run business which has only been opened 6 months. Recommended by the Torrey visitor center. Service was slow but food is freshly made and wonderful. read more

Wow, being from Southern California we tend to have high expectations for Mexican food, and we were not disappointed. The fajita plates were excellent and the service was great! Thank you, we will definitely be back whenever we are in town! read more

It taste ok, but it's extremely expensive. It's the definition of a tourist restaurant. If you really have no choice and you're very hungry, prepare to spend a lot of money. Although, I would suggest going to the Subway down the street. read more

Solid breakfast burrito (we ate to go and it just needed some hot sauce) and the second best huevos rancheros I've ever had, & it's my favorite breakfast dish. Staff was very friendly and order was prompt. read more

never fails! may not look super inviting from the outside but the food is amazing! don't overlook it!

The best food I have eaten anywhere lately. Highly recommend the enchiladas filled with pork and green sauce with both red and green sauce on top. What a treat in such a remote area! read more

Very good enchilada. Was pretty busy there is a bar side and food side. Waiter seemed polite

Don't be fooled by the outside! It's so cute and fresh inside and the food is SO good!! Service is lovely and really dang fast too! The Chile relleno is the best! read more

Delicious food and drinks. I ordered the chimichanga and my husband ordered a chicken taco. Both were good. The chips and salsa were delightful as well. read more

Great place to eat after a day of hiking! The food was delicious and fresh and the service was on par! I was a bit concerned with the building's exterior looking a bit rough, but it turned out to be a relaxing visit and the bathroom was nicely updated with modern amenities, as well as being super clean. A big plus in my book. read more

What a great hole in the wall! You roll up and aren't quite sure what to expect, but the answer is great food and service. We had a few beers, flautas, Huevo rancheros, and carne asada con huevos. All of it was amazing. Portion sizes were great also. There is some outdoor seating available too. Stop by! You won't be disappointed. read more

Authentic homemade Mexican food in the middle of Utah close to Capitol Reef. Fabulous enchiladas, horchata, and tostada salad with excellent guacamole and nice green lettuce. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our waiter Efraim was a total gem! Warm and inviting atmosphere with a family feel. Some of the best Mexican food we've ever had, and we are from California. read more

Way to cramped food took almost 45 minutes. Server/waitress was vocally frustrated and even slammed cutlery on one of the tables. She also was getting mad at customers that wanted to move to another table because they brought in a stroller (granted they shouldn't have brought it in) and couldn't get around. She never checked in on our food to ask how it was going or if we wanted any refills. We were starving and frustrated over the fact it took so long that we wanted to eat and go. We weren't even finished eating when she asked if we were finished and proceeded to get us to pay the bill. Just not the greatest atmosphere. I get it was a Sunday and not many places were open but come on people be nice to your customers. read more

Open just shy of 3 months, this small (about 10 tables) is serving up the best Mexican dishes I've ever tasted. On our visit I had pork tamales for lunch - large in size, stuffed with pork with a delicious sauce with just the right amount of tang. Hubby had a Chile relleno - made with a fresh, not canned, chile. Our only regret is that we were leaving town the next day and did not have a chance to try other dishes. (Chilaquiles I'm coming for you!). Staff was friendly and welcoming. Got flan to go - it was rich and creamy. read more

We went twice during our stay here. For the area, I think the prices are fair. The mole is outstanding and the fresh salsa and homemade pepper sauces are top notch. The service is quite friendly. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. read more

Fantastic Mexican food! Lots of menu choices and after multiple visits everything has been great. Friendly and welcoming.

Excellent food, friendly service! We had the chimichanga and enchiladas. We highly recommend this restaurant!

The glowing reviews are justified. Don't be put off by the humble exterior, this is the real deal. I had the chilaquiles with green sauce and it was amazing--just the right amount of punch, the eggs were nicely over easy and served with superior breakfast potatoes mixed with red and green chiles. The tacos, fish and al pastor, were excellent as well, especially when topped with the queso sauce we ordered as a side. The plates were stylishly composed which was way above what I expected. read more

Excellent food! Amazing mole and my husband had the octopus tacos! But meals were excellent! Great service and good prices. If you go to Torrey it is excellent place to eat at! read more

Wonderful place! Excellent food, great service and beautiful views. Does not look like much outside but don't let that stop you. This place is a real gem in an area with few good places to eat. Don't miss it. We will be back for sure!! read more

Excellent. Fresh. Great quality food. Large portions. Definitely a must im Torrey. A great find.

Do not drive by! This place has outstanding Mexican food. We had Enchiladas (Chicken, Barbacoa), and a burrito. Cold beer in frosted mugs. Super nice on the inside. Only about 8 tables and some outside seating. My wife had the flan for dessert which was good also. Attentive and very nice servers and staff! read more

Excellent! What this restaurant lacks in ambiance it makes up in flavor! Highly recommend! We had nachos and tostada salad both with shredded chicken. read more

10/10! The food was delicious, the staff was attentive and the inside was cute as hell! Would definitely recommend!!

(Mexican food junkie here)Monday night. Took 1.25 hrs from order to food ready. $15 for the most tasteless burrito I've ever eaten and did not come with rice or beans. Chicken was chewy. Every entree seems dull. Waiter did not come back once. Not a drink refill, not to ask if i needed anything. Needed some tapatio to give it something and had none. Not Mexican food. read more

I've been eating at Mexican restaurants for 50 years and Chili Rellenos are my favorite. At Chak Balam's they made the very best Cheese Chili Relleno that I've ever eaten. The service was great and very friendly. Next time in Torrey I'm at Chab Balams. read more

Extremely good Mexican food. We had the pork tamales, beef fajitas, and queso. All were amazing. I could tell that the salsa was made fresh and the queso was tasty. They also have homemade hot sauces that were very flavorful. They also have Mexican cokes which I was very excited about. read more

This is one of the best dinners we have had on our 9 day trip thru S. Utah parks trip. The fajitas are a must and the veggie version was one of the best I have had period. read more
