Really great until it isn't. I've been a regular for quite a while. Always kind and appropriate, never anything other than accommodating. I brought in some fans when the air was out a couple of days ago. Let me preface by saying that I did this to help my friends. I didn't want anyone to have to work in ridiculous heat. I brought two small fans and one large. I got my two small fans yesterday, no problem at all. I came in tonight and Yanna (who I have always been cool and amicable with, for quite a while), acted like my last fan wasn't available and it was somehow stolen, though I had seen it hanging over the staircase the night before. It would simply be ok with me to get my property back. It's shameful that any of this turned out the way it did. I'm literally one of the quietest and nicest people that anyone ever deals with. I did not have any kind of negative interaction, but was treated as if I was being a nuisance and causing a problem. I am always kind and calm, I never have any issue with any server or bartender. It really disappoints me because I've always been a kind guest, and have always been treated well. But I think my time with Chairs is now done. It sucks, because all of my interactions with everyone leading to this moment has been really great. Jess, Cay, Ike, Nigel, Major, Kelly. Everyone until one stupid night with one stupid fan. I was not at all forceful, just inquisitive. I really feel like Yanna didn't have an answer for a very soft question and instead of looking into it, turned me into a villain, using Jess as a stopgap in order to avoid dealing with a very simple situation that could have just been dealt with by either giving my fan back, or the owner spending fifty bucks on a fan of the same caliber and writing it off as a business expense. The mirrors in the bathroom are covered with stickers so don't expect to see yourself LOL But I love this place, they have PacMan and Pool - bring some cash and enjoy this vibe! We stopped in here randomly on a Friday night and it turned out to be a nice little spot. There's a parking lot right behind the bar, less than a 30-second walk, which made it super convenient. We grabbed a couple of drinks and ordered tenders with fries....everything came out tasty and just what we were in the mood for. The bartenders were great! Service overall was good, and they stayed on top of things even though they were handling a lot. My only issue was when we first got there it was a little confusing. We weren't really sure where to order food from since there wasn't much direction. It seemed like the two bartenders were juggling both making drinks and taking food orders, which slowed things down a little. Once we got settled in though, we had a good time. We played pool, enjoyed our food and drinks, and vibed to some really good music. The atmosphere was super chill and laid-back. For parking you may have to circle a bit for street or an approved lot with space. The location could use some cleaning and updates. By far the BEST bar food I have ever tasted!!! I'm in town from Louisville and the flavors from this place alone doesn't touch anywhere ive been. Cook needs a fat raise whatever they are paid is NOT enough. Yes, when someone described this as having a "speakeasyish" feel, they were spot on. This is a cozy dive to dip to late night. Spacious, intimate, & homely. Drinks were great & the food came very quickly. I had smoked chicken nacho fries, while my date had their basic burger. Our bartender Cay was quite the pleasure to be served by. Very personable & when I mentioned how picky (weird) of an eater I was, he was more than understanding & accommodated my requests with continued pleasure & professionalism. He even went so far as to make me his own personal rendition of a Manhattan which was an absolute HIT. Kudos to Cay!!!! Then I capped off the night with playing a few old school video games that they had available. Me being a 70s child, it was very much excited to be able to play a game of Millipede; Galaga; & of course Ms. Pac-Man. Some places you like to keep to yourself but being selfish isn't nice lol. I went on a Tuesday and they do music bingo...fun! This spot has the coolest vibe and decor. I sat at the bar and everyone was so nice. Diverse crowd...love it! Jamal and Kelly have to be the best bartenders around town, I swear! I was so hungry I forgot to get pics of my Salmon Philly, onions on the side and fried okra....AMAZING! I say run don't walk in my opinion. How have I not reviewed chairs??? Well this is def my go to bar, as I am a local, but it's also one of the best places I frequent! Between Drew, Nikki, and the other staff, I am always greeted with a smile and it feels like family! My go to meal is usually the smoked chicken nachos, but I've also had the tacos, and some friends have had the burgers, and they are all great portion sizes and well done! Def bar food style, but with an edge that makes it way better! (I'm still rooting for mozz sticks tho in the future). The drink selection is great, I either go for the $4 mystery beer (which is an awesome and fun deal) or the dickelade). Prior to that I was a frozen dick(elade) fan and I was sad to see it go. However, the dickelade is the same thing but not frozen :) I love that they have a patio outside, and pool tables and arcade games! They even have great events at times that you can attend! Bathrooms are clean and spacious most of the time and the cool stair entrance and Christmas lights make it feel like I'm escaping reality. It's a pretty good neighborhood bar! I pop in occasionally for a drink and sometimes I'll even eat haha. The prices are reasonable for drinks. So many places are overpriced in today's world and I'm glad this spot is somewhat reasonable haha ! I enjoy the vibe of good conversations you can catch at the bar and if nothing else, you can talk to the bartender haha ! The last time I was here some really nice people got me a shot--it'a easy to say this is a great place when that kind of stuff happens haha The food here is typical pub food, nothing special but reasonably priced and gets the job done! The drinks are pretty reasonable too. After several visits finally leaving a review since I actually ate this time. Ordered wings and sweet potato fries, which were actually tater tots, after attending a concert nearby in the vicinity of East Point's city hall. The food was pretty good except that I ordered lemon pepper wings mix with medium sauce and what I received tasted like BBQ sauce. Tasty nonetheless, but not what I ordered. Added hot sauce to them and happily consumed. Normally come to shoot pool when in the area, as the place has three pool tables and a reasonable $10 an hour rate. There are also video game machines including Ms. Pac Man, darts and a few other games available to accompany a trip down memory lane. It was actually trivia night and I played from the sideline since we arrived a little late. In hindsight I do believe we could've joined in and just hope for the best point wise, but will definitely plan to come again and test my trivia skills. The four-star were due to the wrong flavor received, and server never bringing my drink. Otherwise this venue is a gem in East Point as it stays open until about 2 AM almost every day. My kinda scene: - Mystery beers - Kickass nachos - Smoked wings - Pool - Friendly service and clientele I went here on my friend's suggestion based on what he knows about me, and he was pretty spot on. There's nothing to dislike here. Fun billiards with some Atlanta oldheads, four dollar mystery beers where the answer to the mystery isn't just "Bud Light", and really great bar snacks from what I could tell with my order. I got a "small" brisket nachos that was the size of my head, and some smoked wings with a mix of sriracha and some other sweeter sauce that was chef's kiss excellent. Chairs is a great neighborhood bar. It's exactly what that sounds like; a nice place to chill and catch up with friends while grabbing a great drink. They've got a solid food menu too - don't pass up on their brisket in any form; sandwich, nachos (with the waffle fries), whatever - it's good. Their wings are also awesome. I really wanted Chairs be a cool dive bar but it just doesn't do it for me. I have given this bar a try a few times in hopes that my experience would improve yet the service and quality is just unprofessional and inconsistent. Upon entering, the smell is uninviting and makes you not want to order food. With basic bar food options, the items I ordered like tacos, wings and burger & fries were mediocre in taste. The drinks are also pretty basic but good, not watered down. Being in a good central location in East Point, it seems to be very much a watering hole for regulars with friendly service given to those few. It's my hope that Chairs improves as it seems to have an okay reputation and much potential. read more

I haven't been here since last year and did music bingo which was fun. But last night was in a word: STRANGE. The set up changed a LOT. We were seated by a young woman who wrapped in a blanket. I figured she was cold? We didn't want to sit where the karaoke was happening. So she took us to the outside which was full of smoke and then finally, we saw another spot inside on the other side of where a woman was butchering Erykah Badu for karaoke night, that was less crowded. She then gave us menus and then put a book down and was just standing there staring and smiling.. I asked her are you okay? She then told us she actually didn't work there and skipped away. WTF! On our way out, I asked somebody else how to find an actual employee. They pointed to the bar, which is to the left when you first come in. Would have been nice if there was a sign and arrow saying please order at bar. But I guess they just expect people to know. Now I do. The question that remains is: Will I return? Answer: I'm not in a hurry because it seems like they let anybody come in there. And that does not make me comfortable. It was my friends first time and to say the first impression was not good is an understatement. I'll check the reviews later on in life and see if I want to give it another chance. After a number of flight delays that had us landing at ATL after 9:30 PM on a Wednesday, we were frantic to find a place still open for dinner. We arrived at Chairs Upstairs around 10:15 PM, and the parking lot was packed. We soon learned as we went up the steps that we arrived in the middle of trivia. It was super lively inside, and we didn't see a host or servers anywhere. We found an empty table on the side with the pool tables, trying to avoid the crowded bar area with trivia players. The table still had dirty glasses, utensils, and napkins on it, so we scooted them aside the best we could and sat. After sitting for a while, a server came by saying that we need to order all food and drinks at the bar, and servers will bring out food to us once it's ready. A couple of folks from our group go wait in line at the bar to put in our order. While they're gone, another server finally comes and picks up the dirty dishware on the table, but they don't wipe the table down at all. Pretty gross. They come back with bottled beers, and a few minutes later, a server brings us our cocktails (Fizzy Bubbly and Rum Punch - both yummy). Then we wait, trying to talk over the loud trivia game, and we wait, super hungry from travel and the late hour. Finally, a server comes up to us and tells us our food has been sitting at the bar for takeout. WHAT?! They somehow got confused and thought we wanted takeout, even though we never said it was for takeout, and we were sitting right there with our number the whole time. He brings over our food - all in takeout containers - and it's not hot. So incredibly disappointing. We got the chicken tenders - too much breading. I loved the street corn. Mac n cheese was creamy and tasty. The brisket nachos tasted fine but there could have been more and more evenly distributed toppings over the chips. We got brisket and patty sandwiches - which were fine but would have been better if they'd been served hot. Same with the fried okra - no one wants to eat cold okra. Still a great neighborhood bar on Main St. in East Point. Street parking only. Came on a Saturday night most recently and it was not crowded at all. Definitely people in the place, but no trouble finding a table or spot at the bar. I didn't order food this time, but highly recommend any of the smoked chicken wings, brisket nachos and Long Island to drink. I also like the outside patio area for smoking and fresh air. No cover and reasonable prices. I dont think the staff is the friendliest, but that may be part of their culture there. read more

On to the food, I ordered a fully loaded baked potato and I added brisket for an extra $2 to really make it a meal. My expectation was a decent size potato fully loaded covered with brisket. My reality was, I received a potato about less than the size of my palm. I had a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of cheese a few bacon crumbs and maybe 2oz of brisket. More importantly, the potato was under baked. It wasn't soft and buttery; more like crumbly and hard. For around $8+ I was expecting and $8, melt in your mouth potato, soft buttery potato. Found this spot in my search for pool tables in my area. We came in on a Saturday afternoon. Small parking lot but we were able to find a spot. You could easily pass by this lot trying to look for this place. It was pretty empty at the time. We ordered drinks at the bar and found an empty pool table. They have 3 pool tables, a couple arcade games, and a foosball table I think. The decor gives an old school hippie type of feel like maybe this spot was something else before what it is now. Nice old school hip hop played in the background. Pool tables are by the hour with a decent price. Drinks are also decently priced. By the time we left there was a pretty good amount of people fraternizing. Cool spot! I didn't eat any food. This is a bar so expect "bar" food. read more

Stopped by here just because I was already in the area. The entrance is located right next to a cupcake shop and can easily be missed because the door is so small. We arrived and asked to be seated outside. Outside is also where they grill the food so there was quite a bit of smoke so maybe inside would've been best. My friends ordered wings and I ordered the Mac and cheese brisket. Which was just simply okay. I honestly didn't have high expectations for this place.
