Just flew in from CO. 9 pm on a Wednesday night. This was the closest spot on Eater Atlanta's "Where to Find Good Late-Night Eats in Atlanta" thought we'd check it out. Decently busy Wednesday night. Bar trivia going on. Sign said grab a menu and sit where you'd like. We did. Waited a while. I grabbed a guy running food. He said if you sit on this half you'll be waited on. That half I needed to go to the bar. I did. My girl saves our table. I order the brisket Mac n cheese and a corn dog she wants fancy fried chicken with sweet potato tots. The ladies behind the bar we lovely! I pay and go sit down. We wait... And wait. They're a little busy and I'm a little grumpy from traveling. But I'm on my best behavior. Plus, we're distracted chatting and guessing at trivia. Finally, I ask a guy next to us if he's eaten here before and if it normally takes an hour. He says, no way, go check! I do. Apparently our order got lost, the internet went out. Dude apologizes profusely asks what we ordered and tells me he's on it. The girl from behind the bar comes over with more apologies. She says the food will be right out and she's bringing a gift card. It was and she did. $20. Shit happens! The food was decent, staff was great! Not sure if I'd do it all over. 6/11/22 around 930 ish Was in the area for an engagement decided to stop by before leaving the area. Oh Issa Dive Bar! But really as soon as you step through the door you know exactly what it is. ( notice my double entendre lol) The bartender was the best, kind / eager to serve, quick and inviting. the crowd and energy was the best, locals from the neighborhood and transplants from all over who are now local. the drinks which are mixed, wine , beer on or off tap, tequila , rum everything you need . And my my my the music makes you feel nostalgic... I told myself when sitting at the bar for a while listening to music this place is pretty dope... Now if a certain song comes on this will be the perfect bar. Low and behold it did. One of my favorite songs that's sort of a cult classic. Had a great time meeting some really cool people. I'm so happy this bar is open during COVID. I wasn't sure to expect while traveling to Atlanta during this pandemic. Chill vibe with old school music and arcade games, this is my scene. Cocktails are moderately priced and though we didn't order food, you could smell the BBQ/Smokers going as soon as you enter the building. Our servers were Nikki and Sterling. They had excellent customer service, and they seemed to be loved and well known by the locals. Will definitely be stopping back in before I leave town. read more

I was excited to try something new, and my daughter HIGHLY recommended the Brisket sandwich. I don't come South that often so we stopped in to grab something to go. Well, once I got home (hour ride) I was so disappointed. I really believed they split one order of fries between the two orders. There was a half of a cup of brisket , splash of BBQ sauce in a cup, 3 pickles and two slices of bread. Now, don't get me wrong, it was VERY tasteful. But more disappointing. Terrible bar smells of smoking (even with no smokeing inside) food is mid drinks are overpriced and I even heard the staff make jokes of how someone got shot at their restaurant the other day like it was normal. I almost missed chairs because it is not visible from the street. If you're from out of town as I was you will need to look up go around the corner and enter the driveway. The vibe inside was pretty festive I like that it was a mixed crowd. It was easy to find a place to park. The macaroni and cheese was a little on the soft side but it wasn't terrible, I did not have the pulled pork with it as it did not have a lot of flavor itself It was a little bland. The Caesar salad was basic I just needed some fresh green leaves in my diet and the dressing was pretty decent. The shrimp taco was a standout the shrimp refresh breaded well and the sauce that was ladle over them had a nice kick. I can't remember the type of drink that I ordered but it was a pretty decent drink The lines look like they were little beat up. The service was great though The bartenders were really sweet the guys running the food or pretty awesome. Definitely just "happened" to stop by in pursuit of a burger and a drink after a bike ride. In town for a big event bike ride with the credentials pick location nearby, we wanted burgers! Being early and since the pick up location was just pizza, we wandered down the street, glad we did! They do allow smoking (had I known, I could have had my cigar here!) and there are pool tables and darts. They did not have my go-to drink so I settled on an Old Fashioned....did not feel like I settled at all as it was delicious! This is my favorite bar. It's quaint and laid back. The drinks are good and the food is excellent. Wings, Brisket Nachos, Mac n Cheese, everything. It's bar food but better. I went a few times, keep to myself (polite and did not talk much) and tipped more than 30%. After the second time I went the bartenders started just adding tips to my tab and charging me $2-3 above the listed price for drinks. This is very disrespectful and the crazy thing about it is that they would have just gotten more money if they were honest. I love this place!!! A real hidden gem! Chairs is a beautiful old bar that sits right in the middle of historic East point. A wonderful mix of bar, restaurant, billiards, retro arcade and late night! They have everything you want and more! Daily specials are great! The service is wonderful! There's always something happening here! After seeing a picture of the pork belly sandwich, I was very excited to try this place. When I arrived, it wasn't what I was expecting from the photos. I thought it was going to be this hipster kind of place but it was more like a dive bar. Not bad but not what I was expecting. If you are at all bothered by cigarette smoke; this isn't the place for you. Smoke triggers my asthma so I sat outside on the patio. It was a beautiful night but was almost smoked out there too because the smoker was up there. It smelled delicious but the smoke was a distraction. The pork belly was no longer on the menu which was disappointing....I almost left because of that and the smoke but the very friendly staff helped me decide to stay. First I will say this, I called the place when I landed late in ATL airport and talked to to friendliest bartender and was excited to patronize. When I walked in a few minutes later the bartender was not friendly at all and I thought she was perhaps bipolar. I took a seat and another bartender appeared. Quickly I realized that this was the one I had spoken to as she was very friendly and lavished me with several "honey's" and "sweethearts". Made me fell at home. Amazing how much difference a little kindness makes. The other bartender was as friendly as a pit viper. The nice bartender is the only reason I don't one star this place because she was awesome and made the experience palatable even though everything else pretty much sucked. This place gets brownie points for being open late and near the airport. The decor is nice, But it is as Smokey as a three alarm fire and smells like an ashtray (but most of the bars on Atlanta do). I can not believe they still allow smoking in bars in Atlanta. Just disgusting. I used to work in bars when smoking was tolerated and I don't remember it bothering me, but many years later living in a city that does not allow this, it is a glaring distraction to enjoying a drink or a meal--oh yeah, and it's deadly too. Some bars have smoke handlers but if this one does it is not working very well. We went their because other reviews recommended the wings, but we found the wings to be small and extremely over cooked. Some of the wings were even crunchy, and I don't mean crispy in the well-done crispy fried skin sense--I love that. I mean like past turkey jerky hard to full on crunchy flesh to the bone. I suspect that we were pretty late and we were getting the days dregs from the bottom of the fryer. At least I hope that was the case. As I said, other recommendations were very good and so I have to think they are capable of making good wings even though ours were dreadful crematory victims. read more
