Glad to see Chaia is still thriving in Georgetown after so many years. It's a great option for those practicing a vegetarian diet. We got the trio tacos. I do like the tortillas they use. Moroccan Carrot - I like how the carrot is half-cooked, the feta makes each bite creamy 5/5 Braised mushroom - the mushrooms were slimy and fell out of the taco, I think the mushrooms could have been cooked down more 1/5 Scrambled Egg & Black Bean - tastes like a standard breakfast burrito 3/5

Sweet Potato Nachos and Brussels Sprouts Salad

This review is specifically for the sweet potato nachos and their new Brussels sprout salad. I absolutely love their sweet potato nachos, especially because of the melted cheese and the black beans, not to mention the delicious sweet potato. It's my new favorite item to order! Their new Brussels sprout salad is really good. I was hesitant to order it because I normally get really bloated with Brussels sprouts. However, the salad made me feel refreshed and tasted great. I especially like the crunch of the pumpkin seeds and dressing. I'll be ordering it again.

Intriguing flavors that has you wanting more! I'm not vegan but I could be convinced after eating here. Soooo good!

I don't even like to eat vegetables and I liked the food here. I was in the mood for a light dinner and stumbled across this place in the backstreet. Really pleasantly surprised! They have a good deal for 3 tacos. I tried the butternut squash (savory, paired well with the feta cheese) and sweet potato (pretty sweet). I also asked for salsa on the side and that helped elevate the flavor! Great cozy place to meet up with some friends and escape the weather. Really quick service - you order on a kiosk and get it within minutes.

I just happened to pass by this restaurant while I was out in Georgetown, so I decided to give it a try. I'm not usually a vegetarian girly, but I need a meat break from all the holiday eating. The food did not disappoint! I had the sweet potato nachos and hibiscus drink! Everything was delicious and fresh. You order through a kiosk, which was pretty easy to follow. My food came out quickly and the employees were really nice. There are a few tables when you first walk in but there is extra seating upstairs. This is a great restaurant for fast food vegetarian dishes! I will def return!

I had an amazing lunch at Chaia! This business is very vegan friendly and even has cocktails for those that are 21+. Chaia has a good amount of seating for a small group. You can order at the register or use their touchpad screen. It is very easy to veganize their menu items. They have vegan cheese you can purchase at a 50 cent upcharge to make their nachos instantly vegan. Their nachos were HUGE! I ate the whole portion size for lunch and skipped dinner. They would definitely be great to share with friends. They were fully loaded with amazing veggies and the vegan cheese melted surprisingly well! I also enjoyed the Chaia Margarita. I was expecting this margarita to be pretty weak but it gave me a very nice buzz! Totally worth the $9! The flavor was delightful especially on this hot summer day. It was refreshing and paired perfectly with my nachos. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu! They have a frozen margarita with my name on it and enchiladas I will try next time!

I really enjoyed the tacos here, even though it's vegetarian there is definitely flavor into each taco. Personally I loved their sweet potato and cauliflower tacos.

LOVE CHAIA! I went frequently when living in DC and now make sure to stop by when I'm in town. Lots of great, healthy options. I often get the taco sampler but recently tried the enchiladas and they were incredible! There are many areas nearby where you can eat your meal outside if you take it to go.

Upstairs dining area. Sit here for a more intimate feel.

Good, very good. Come in and place your order on the screen and then sit and wait as the ladies whip your meal together right before your eyes. Service is quick, and the ladies are nice and helpful. Like a lot of places in Georgetown their is a lot of history in this building, but we're not here for that. So let's eat... If you come here and do not have the sweet potato tacos, you wasted a visit and your life will not be blessed. The three tacos are filling and that is surprising to me because regular tacos from your typical Mexican spot wouldn't fill me up with just three. The nachos...to die for. I recommend going with your gut when your order and do not skip this place just because it majority vegetarian you will like it even if you're a carnivore. You can thank me later.

Went to this small beautiful place in DC and had amazing trio of soft tacos. They have many seating options (on second floor two). Many taco options to choose from. I got a mushroom one, asparagus one and a potato one. The asparagus was a little difficult to eat, the potato and mushrooms were so delicious and juicy. They are generous with the filling so it was much i was full too soon. Loved it, go visit.

Cute interior to eat veggie tacos! The owner apparently started at farmers markets. We ate upstairs.

Good on the verge of very good. Ordering: two self order kiosks on the back right hand side of the store. Interface is fairly intuitive but some items have options which can throw you off. I had trouble with the credit card reader so a nice worker rang me up manually. I ordered two tacos combo but it seems like it was the same price as buying a single taco two times. The tacos come with a single tortilla (I'm used to the double up on the west coast) which means you can do the classic trick of turning one taco into two. More importantly, it makes the tacos harder to eat since the ingredient invariably piece the soft shell. On to the food: Mushroom Taco -- big pieces of mushrooms with feta. The salsa was delicate. Enjoyed this but wished it had a little kick. Kale + Potato Taco -- green salsa better than the red. Pickled onion was quite nice. I liked this one more than the mushroom. Hibiscus Tea -- apparently house made and quite tasty with a hint of honey and mint. Smaller size than I expected. Only three tables downstairs but there are a few more upstairs. Be sure to grab napkins before you go up there as there are none of the second level. Decent tacos but hard to judge them against my California standards.

The tacos are very good but also very expensive. Unsure of why vegan food has to be so inaccessible. Definitely worth trying though

The service was ok, we had to tell our server we weren't seeing him enough, there's a 2 hour limit and we weren't getting a chance to order more drinks. After that he kept the drinks coming. WARNING! You DO NOT get to choose what items you want from the ayce brunch menu, they bring every single dish out and they do it at a pace that you barely get a chance to enjoy anything. Every dish is loaded with fillers and barely any meat. Every dish has a similar flavor of chilli, lime and cilantro. I say this with the upmost respect to this restaurant, the only good thing about the brunch were the churros and they don't give you that until you're ready to leave. The chicken and waffles were almost good but the sauce on the chicken with the waffle just ruins it. The steak and eggs were ok and you only get a 1oz piece of steak. Birria tacos were just ok and the fish taco was ok. Everything else was not worth it. A lot of items went to waste. If we could've chose exactly what we wanted, it might have been better. This would also add to why the service did not start off well because our server gave us our first drink and left. After that, every item from the brunch menu were just getting dropped off by food runners. It became overwhelming. We didn't even have room on the table for all of that. Then we also had to ask for new plates because we did not want to mix the flavors of every dish. The drinks were also not good, I had margaritas for my drink of choice and they are so sour and filled with cheap tequila... respectfully for 70$ a person you're better off ordering à la carte. The restaurant is beautiful though, great for pictures and the food is colorful as well but the flavors are just not that good and you're ultimately paying for a bunch of food that you don't really even want nor enjoy. I really hope they adjust this because I heard it was 10x better in the past.

The reggae music was giving me all of the good vibes, so out of curiosity I headed down the steps.
