I really enjoyed this BobaTea Shop. Clustered right next to the H-Mart and many other Korean restaurants and shops. This place has some really unique teas and ice cream flavors to choose from. The milk tea itself the first time was perfectly balanced in terms of milk to tea and even had a nice caramel/coffee/coco hint to it which made it extra satisfying. The flan was rather crumbly as if they literally just stuck a flan pudding in there and kind of broke it up with a straw rather than your typical scoops of pudding in there. The matcha tea was good. I would have wished that the matcha would have been mixed in a little better, it was a bit grainy. The only other thing of note is that the menu is EXPANSIVE. Like they do banh mi, waffles, bubble tea, vietnamese desserts. Places like this typically scare me as they don't ever seem to do one thing well, and if they do, it's usually not the bubble tea. My favorite places to review are boba places since I love boba. I always see this place calling my name when I shop at H-Mart. I finally took the plunge on my lunch break one day. Ironically, it was not after a trip to H-Mart. Although Cha Tea has many options on the menu, I still opted to try the classic milk tea. I can tell if I will like the boba shop based on whether or not I like their milk tea. Unfortunately, the milk tea missed the mark for me. I appreciate that I could customize the order, specifically with sweetness. However, I feel like the drink lacked tea flavor despite it being darker than most milk teas I drink. Additionally, the drink had an overall taste similar to to other boba establishments in the area so it doesn't stand out or distinguishes itself in anyway. There was something that was off for me but I can't really put my finger on what it is exactly. The boba texture was alright. I did appreciate the that the boba pearls were chewy but they were a bit overcooked or soaking in the simple syrup too long. Overall, I can say that I have had better. I recognize that I didn't try any of their popular drinks so maybe they're not known for their milk tea. The establishment was clean and socially distanced friendly. I often will pop in here after an H-Mart trip- the menu is extensive and the flavors are pretty good, just not amazing in my opinion. It's really cool how they juice fresh sugar cane for their drinks, I am just not a fan of sugar cane juice. I got the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and boba today and the matcha wasn't the best quality, so there wasn't really any flavor there and I wish they used just fresh strawberry purée instead of syrup, but it wasn't bad. The people are always really nice and helpful in there- had no problem double checking to see if their matcha powder had dairy in it. I'm not sure if it was because of the day and time or because there are two boba shops across the street in the Mekong plaza, but it felt weird walking in. I ordered the Honey Jasmine Milk Tea and my sister got the Thai Royal drink. The Honey Jasmine Milk Tea tasted really sweet to me. I feel as though there was too much honey but I think that's because I prefer things slightly bitter. My sister thought it tasted fine but she loves sweet things. I really liked the Royal Thai drink. It is made with a coconut milk/cream base and filled with assorted jellies and fruits (i.e. grass jelly, jackfruit). It reminds me of the typical Vietnamese desserts I would eat as a kid and had a more gentle sweet flavor. Overall, I appreciate the dessert inspired/unique flavors that they had on the menu. It's a shame that they're in direct competiti on with the shops in Mekong but I think that as a stand-alone, it's a good boba place. Definitely recommend it to anyone willing to give the place a try! I didn't know about it but they were having a buy one get one free sale so that was nice. Price came out to be $5.95. It was excellent because of the fresh taste and coconut bits and passion fruit seeds. If you don't like chia seeds, then don't get it (LoL). Super tropical! Fresh Mango Tea was super fresh. I was surprised to see they used real chopped mango bits adding to the tea. Brilliant! Most places would literally just use green tea with added "mango flavored" syrup. Now, for people who think this place is overpriced. Try again! From all the fresh fruits and stuff that they use to add "values" into your tea cup is worth it!
