I am so glad I didn't take an Uber to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Lyndhurst AND Belleville, as my…read moreson was available. When I got there (despite telling them when booking a reservation on their website that I needed an SUV(due to recent spine surgery making get in an out of a sedan very difficult) there wasn't any SUVs in their log, nothing but sedans! INCREDIBLY the emailed reservation confirmation even showed a photo of a Hyundia Kona! The shocking "take it or leave it" attitude was a surprise too. I asked the incredibly indifferent employee at the Lyndhurst location if he could call their Belleville lot if they had an SUV, and he read out the number and instructed me to call number myself. The Enterprise in Belleville told me they had SUVs, but when we got there the only SUV they had was an Equinox that was all-electric and out-of-charge, and it would have cost me $15.00 more to rent. My Jeep is at the dealer's as there was a recall, and Chrysler graciously offered to recompense me $50 a day for a rental, fortunately they will also consider renting from Avis, Hertz and Budget too. Crossing my fingers that the Avis Rent-a-Car will work out. Kerry G. 4/9/26

Everyone I dealt with was friendly and had answers to any question I asked. Made renting a vehicle from them very easy and pain free. I ended up using two vehicles and both were fine. They were clean and very nice. I went with a Nissan Altima and was very happy with it. The reason I needed two vehicles was because I ended up with a flat tire on the first one. When I reported that I had a tired going flat they directed me to come back to the shop. I had a new Altima and was back out on the road in twenty minutes. No problem at all. If you need a rental car I highly recommend them.

I even received a vehicle that was much nicer than the one I picked so that was sweet. If you want to rent a car, this place rents them. Looks & vibe wise- If you wanted to be reminded of what the abandoned restaurant in the Goonies was all about this is also the place for you but if not you are going to be disappointed. Hard to believe they were even able to get WiFi in here. I would still recommend though

Warning! I love Avis, but this location is a franchise and gave me the worst rental experience I've…read moreever had. I typically rent from Avis about once a month. Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews for this location before hand, which was my mistake. I highly recommend going to the Fort Lee, NJ Avis location instead, they're amazing, or using another rental company in the area. This building looks like it's falling apart and is in a very concerning area. The agent was out on an extended lunch break, and we had to wait over an hour just to return the car. I tried calling this location about a dozen times, and no one ever answered or returned my messages. Customer service here is non-existent. Good luck and safe travels!

I had no choice and was desperate so I agreed but never again. Very disappointed. The Avis name just lost all value for me. Super close to the train station. I called in advance to ask for rates and to start the process of registration so I could go asap but they refused and now I see why. They wanted to lock me in at this ridiculous rate where I was stuck bc I already got there and no time or a waste of money to uber to another car rental. Went to the parking lot to pick up the car and there are so many cars here so there is no demand as it's not the weekend and they are not all booked obviously because I even asked a question, are these all rental cars and he said yes. And then on top of that of course the device itself for the tolls are seven dollars as a base and any toll that you incur. I felt so swindled and I wanted to tell them that I'm gonna Put in a really bad review because this place is not honest and not nice and not business friendly. Instead, it gouges you of your money. I don't think they want that kind of reputation on Google and Yelp. Taking money at this crazy rate I have never had just ruins your reputation and doesn't make repeat or loyal customers. It's not worth charging such a high price bc it's a high prices for a business demise.

I am always renting cars with Hertz due to the high quality of car, reliability of service,…read moremultiple convenient locations and competitive prices. However, there were a thousand things wrong with this rental experience in Passaic NJ, on Oct 10 2025. I get to the rental place and I get told that "they're out of cars. sorry" with no regards to the fact that I had a RESERVATION for a car and that they already have a man there waiting for a car to be returned. The lady basically shrugs and implies there's nothing she can do, not even giving me an alternative solution or a phone number to call. I look up a number myself, step outside the establishment and call myself. The employee I spoke with on the phone is somewhat helpful enough to get me a car at a nearby location of Clifton NJ, and with the promise that I would be reimbursed for my car share ride service to the new location. I walk back inside the Passaic NJ establishment and there's a new employee (man) I hadn't met with before. The first employee (lady) asks me if I fixed any problems, and I tell her I am going to the Clifton NJ location to pick up a car. Both employees speak at the same time, saying "wait that's us" and "that car is being returned here". I am visibly and understandbly confused and one of them say "yeah I know it's confusing, but you can get the car from here." While I am waiting for the car to be delivered, a couple walks in to pick up their rental, saying they are 30 min late, and one of the employees has the same message to the couple: "Sorry we are out of cars and you're late so we gave yours away" while the website and contract clearly state that they will hold the reservation for 2h the employee says "that is wrong it's actually 30min and you didn't call us to let us know you were running late." All of this is unacceptable for a service I am paying a significant amount of money for, especially as a member with President's Circle status. This delayed my trip for at least 1h resulting in me missing part of my conference the next day. I am requesting a refund of my money as this was a significant inconvenience of my Friday and the rest of my weekend plans, on top of losing the money I spent on conference and hotel bookings. Additionally, I will not be paying for any processing fees for tolls, as I am trying to get my car registered in the Pennsylvania tolls by mail website and the website is not letting me submit the car plate saying it is registered to another user. This on top of everything else I already submitted is unacceptable and just another way to ensure I send more money your way for bad service. I am not opposed to paying what I owe in tolls, but the unnecessary and excessive service fees are completely and utterly unacceptable.

I tried reaching out to the email address listed right on the Ryder Facebook page…read more(communications@ryder.com) and politely following up, but because nobody has bothered responding to my concerns over the course of a month and a half of trying to get in touch, I guess I'll have to post a review (which I really didn't want to do). One of the drivers at the Moonachie location blew through a stop sign on 10/31/22 in bad weather and forced me to go around him to avoid slamming on my brakes on slippery roads. Your driver then proceeded to give me the middle finger for nearly 5 full seconds afterwards. Mind you, this was completely unprovoked. I have no idea who this person is and I wasn't speeding, tailgating, or instigating this guy in any shape or form. What makes things even worse is that even after reaching out to Ryder via the email address above multiple times, nobody bothered responding! If this is the kind of business Ryder Truck Rental is, then I highly recommend that everybody stays very far away from them. Clearly, they don't care about correcting or disciplining dangerous behavior and you shouldn't want to do business with people like this.

Unfortunately, the van's air conditioning stopped working during one of the hottest weeks of the year, turning what should have been a manageable trip into a very uncomfortable experience. As soon as I noticed the problem, I contacted Budget Roadside Assistance. Their first solution was for me to take the van to a repair shop. Although Budget offered to cover the repair costs, I declined because I was in the middle of a long-distance move and simply couldn't afford to spend hours taking their vehicle in for maintenance or waiting for repairs. The following day, Budget offered to replace the van and even send a crew to transfer all of my belongings. I genuinely appreciated the effort. However, when I asked for an estimated arrival time, they couldn't provide one. Instead, I was told to wait at least another hour just to receive an update, after which I would still have to wait for the replacement van and for the transfer of all my belongings. I was already at a hotel close to checkout time and needed to continue my trip. Waiting an indefinite amount of time wasn't a realistic option, so I completed the entire journey without air conditioning. I recognize that Budget made sincere attempts to resolve the issue, and every representative I spoke with was polite and helpful. My disappointment is not with the employees but with the contingency process. For customers in the middle of a cross-country move, the proposed solutions were simply not practical. I hope Budget improves its procedures so future customers facing a similar situation can receive faster and more effective assistance.
