When I picked up the vehicle, I was told it had a full tank of gas, which was simply not true. I had to get gas immediately after leaving the location. Despite this, I was later charged an outrageous $7 per gallon for a "full tank" that I never received. That alone is unacceptable and feels misleading at best. On top of that, they attempted to charge me $300 from my deposit for a very minor amount of pet hair -- something that could have been resolved with a quick 2-minute vacuum. I fully understand maintaining cleanliness for the next customer, but this charge was excessive and never clearly communicated as part of their policy. This experience has made it clear that customers need to protect themselves -- take photos, document everything, and double-check the vehicle before leaving. Unfortunately, that shouldn't be necessary with a company you trust. Because of this, I will be taking my business to Hertz and National Car Rental going forward. Very disappointing experience. I expected much better.
