I had an engine and a transmission error code. A mechanic at the shop also checked fluids and found burned metal in them, not a great sign. They told me in the gentlest way possible it was time to get a new car. I asked what I owed them and they refused to charge me. Coming from NYC, I was taken aback to be treated with such kindness and good faith by strangers running a business. We talked more about cars and about some new cars to avoid that they are seeing a lot of problems with. Since this visit, I bought new car. It feels like they are focused on finding small reasons to fail inspections and push minor repair fees. I will not be going back, and I'll be telling my family and friends to avoid this shop.

If they said that they misspoke, or took any small amount of responsibility at all, I would've been okay with it, but they bent over backwards to put all of the blame on me. This occurred after I decided to give them another chance, even though a few years earlier, they gave me an estimate for my exhaust and asserted that my muffler's flange was bad, but when I went to another shop, they showed me on the lift that this flange was completely intact. They do decent work but you cannot take them at their word when they quote you a price.
