(My old service used to have problems at least once a week that would cause me to reboot my modem and router, at a minimum.) 3.

I will give them points because every tech I have encountered is kind and has good customer service. They also often empathize about the scheduling and dispatch problems. It takes Century Link at least four days to come out for service, sometimes even over a week before another appointment is available. That is, if they even show up. When it is the company's fault that they missed the service appointment, they still can only reschedule me four days from now, after I've already waited a week. I am a remote worker in a role that deals with highly confidential information. I cannot just find a spot with internet connection and set up shop, so these recurrent instances affect my job. I have had to spend money out of pocket to rent spaces where I can work with sensitive information comfortably. When I have requested compensation of any kind in exchange for the inconvenience, I have been denied every time. This has been a disappointing experience to say the least.

There is zero response to questions that can only be asked thru Ai chat, so only machine response. I have no expectations of service because it seems only 2 of us are out. The outage is so small it seems engineered to make us quit, maybe we have a forever account? There is no phone menu option for customer service, only purchase of new or upgraded service. I'm giving 2 star s because, from a technology standpoint, they offer a decent internet service. I…read moremean, it's not better nor worse than any other cable provider. Sometimes it goes down, but not too often. But their billing is disguising. In a few years, they raised my internet price from $40 to $170. Apparently, their billing support is located somewhere in India, because reps can barely speak comprehensible English. When I called their billing first time - they told me "I'm using too much data" (no unlimited internet in 2025!), so they charge me $50+ / month for data usage, but, as a courtesy, they will limit my bill from 170 to 120. I had to call them few times, and the only thing helped is mentioning that Starlink offers unlimited internet for the same $120. Even then, their rep was either unable doing basic math (something like $65+$25 = $90), or unwilling doing so. Eventually, after a half of an hour of yelling at a rep, I had my price lowered to the same $120 for an unlimited 1 GBit internet - on a condition I will return their modem and router. Unless you have a personal dislike of Elon, consider Starlink. Astound is absolutely the worst rip-off I ever experienced.

Would love to love this. When it works, it's great, but service is extremely unreliable. Multiple…read moretech visits, switching different modems, and multiple homes in our neighborhood are having the same issue with random drops during the day. Nobody can figure it out. So I pay $120 a month (new customers pay $40 and get a free modem) for service. And good luck calling phone support. It's AI that remotely resets your modem, tells you to go online for any other help, and hangs up on you. And if you DO go online and activate chat, and wait over an hour for support, the chat agent will again reset your modem. What happens then? You're kicked out of the chat. It's a nightmare. I just want internet. I'm happy to pay for it. But I run a business from home and this isn't a reliable provider.

I contacted Alee with HiTek Telecom to get a quote on a complete network job for my home. Not only do my spouse that I work from home, but I also do a lot of photography and video that I transfer back-and-forth on my network and into the cloud. I was tired of poor and drop connections with my consumer level Wi-Fi system. In addition, I wanted a local security camera system that I can control without relying on a cloud service. After receiving a quote and agreeing on the scope of work, I scheduled the installation. Alee came out on time on the date scheduled and we walked through the plan of installation and confirmed what all my needs were. Alee and his team worked through the day and completed the install job in an incredibly professional manner. The installation and the cable runs, and all of the final product was exactly as described. After the install, Alee walked me through downloading all of the software that I needed, how to access and navigate the system, how to navigate and operate the security cameras, and ensure that everything was working properly. To be sure, this was a relatively large install for a residential application. I wanted ethernet drops in every room of my house, a new professional grade network cabinet, in-ceiling WIFi network, and a new suite of security cameras. I couldn't have asked for a better end product. I am quite pleased with the attention to detail of the install and making sure everything was perfect, workmanlike, and care was taken in my home. Alee came back out to adjust a couple of things for me after the fact and install an additional camera. Again, he was on time on the scheduled day. The workmanship was just as good and the communication has been stellar throughout. I truly can't recommend HiTek and Alee enough. Top-notch product and top-notch service.
