Huge packet loss intermittently every month. Makes online gaming or anything real time impossible.

Update on the Atlas situation. It's way way worse. As I'm sitting here on a rainy day in Seattle (pretty common) our packet loss is over 15%, our download speed is ~85mbps, and our upload is 100mpbs. We pay them for gigabit down/up so this is less than one tenth of the advertised speed. Their customer service has literally started ignoring our account because of frequent complaints. Three of the units in the building are already back on Xfinity, which apparently doesn't have massive packet loss during bad weather. We'll be trying to get Atlas off of our HOA so we don't have to keep supporting such a terrible, terrible company.

It's cheap, but if you play online game, don't get it. The package losing is terrible. And not helpful even contact with them.

Six months of flawless service at advertised speeds and a commitment to net neutrality won over that last star.

Not as fast as cable but has been down fewer times. The mesh network is actually pretty good so on the overall my coverage is better than it was with Comcast. The problem I have with Quantum aka CenturyLink is that their pricing / billing practices are deceptive at best. I signed up on a plan that promised $65/month, no contract and no price increases. 6 months in they informed me that they are raising the price by $10/month. When you try and call "customer service" the wait times are a joke. Usually when that happens I try a chat. They also don't credit you for outages which is uncool. Pretty much the same lengthy wait. They did give me a slight accommodation but it's left a bad taste in mouth on the overall. When alternatives to Quantum are available in my area I'd definitely going to give them a look. TL;DR - internet quality/speed/connectivity is good. Business practices are shady and I'm not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling from them at all. Business practices 1* Delivered product 4*

Two weeks after we had quantum installed, it stopped working. If we're lucky, it will be back online only seven days after it went out, but nobody is promising anything. The amount of information coming from quantum to us is less than minimal. It is actually zero. The ability to get on the phone with a customer service rep is limited. The customer service reps have very little information even when you find one to talk to. And they have no ability to do anything other than listen to me complain and say they understand. I'm not sure I have ever had a customer experience this bad in my entire life, and I'm not a young man. Quantum, are you listening? Potential customers, I sure as hell hope you're listening. This has been a disaster.

I contacted Alee with HiTek Telecom to get a quote on a complete network job for my home. Not only do my spouse that I work from home, but I also do a lot of photography and video that I transfer back-and-forth on my network and into the cloud. I was tired of poor and drop connections with my consumer level Wi-Fi system. In addition, I wanted a local security camera system that I can control without relying on a cloud service. After receiving a quote and agreeing on the scope of work, I scheduled the installation. Alee came out on time on the date scheduled and we walked through the plan of installation and confirmed what all my needs were. Alee and his team worked through the day and completed the install job in an incredibly professional manner. The installation and the cable runs, and all of the final product was exactly as described. After the install, Alee walked me through downloading all of the software that I needed, how to access and navigate the system, how to navigate and operate the security cameras, and ensure that everything was working properly. To be sure, this was a relatively large install for a residential application. I wanted ethernet drops in every room of my house, a new professional grade network cabinet, in-ceiling WIFi network, and a new suite of security cameras. I couldn't have asked for a better end product. I am quite pleased with the attention to detail of the install and making sure everything was perfect, workmanlike, and care was taken in my home. Alee came back out to adjust a couple of things for me after the fact and install an additional camera. Again, he was on time on the scheduled day. The workmanship was just as good and the communication has been stellar throughout. I truly can't recommend HiTek and Alee enough. Top-notch product and top-notch service.

I don't know what that means, but no one responds after 5pm on some days. If you leave a message after hours they don't return the call. I called the other evening and the line was forward to a number in area code 610 that would not take messages. We were told how great it would nbe to be sold to WAVE because of their greater resources. One would think that after a year they would at least have Wave respond to support. Another interesting thing. We had to enter all our account information from Cascade Link's invoices into the new system. Why do I need to transfer my account? Service is generally good, but if there is a problem, there is no one to respond outside of business hours. That is just not acceptable for an internet business!

I'd recommend Shawn to anyone: his knowledge, efficiency, customer engagement, and outcomes…read moredelivered are outstanding. He's a networking and IT superstar. Costs: If you are upgrading your home network or other capability, and need to buy new/more gear, Shawn doesn't charge a markup on the equipment. In fact, once he's designed your solution he will provide you with links to the exact products required and let you buy them directly from the vendors if desired. Or he'll buy them himself and present you with the receipts. Hourly rate: With the skills Shawn possesses, his hourly rate is substantial. And it should be. However, you can still bring your project in at a very reasonable cost PROVIDED you can be a smart customer. By this I mean you must be clear on the capabilities you want to achieve--or at least be able to listen to Shawn describe what's possible and then make rapid decisions. If instead you want a lot of customer education, Shawn can do that too because he knows an immense amount about IT and can communicate effectively. However, it's a bit like paying for a neurosurgeon to teach you about the types of aspirin available to treat a headache. That doesn't make sense; get a nurse instead! In my case, my wife and I work from the house. My goals were to increase the reliability of our home network. We wanted better maintainability (so when the internet goes down I can rapidly identify the problem and fix it). We wanted better network security. I wanted to add a home security camera because of problems with car prowls, etc. And finally, I wanted to move our networking gear out of our super-hot furnace room to a cooler and cleaner location. This was a lot. Other vendors had previously failed to come up with an affordable solution--or any solution at all. Shawn showed us how to do it for a very reasonable sum. Once we had a plan, I was able to control costs by getting a carpenter friend to open up the wall and pull wires through to the new location for the gear. Shawn also kept costs down by allowing me to provide extra hands as he mounted gear on the wall, connected all of our wireless access points to the new console, etc. These steps all require two people. Shawn was willing to let me help and he even maintained a high level of wit and good-natured ribbing throoughout the long day of work. In sum: great outcome, great satisfaction, great price. Photo: New network system including: cable modem; device handling routing, security, network management, and recording of camera images; 24-port switch; and backup power supply.
