Worst company ever. 2 weeks I have had internet connection go in and out. Gotten 3 different reasons on why. A new modem that wouldn't activate correctly. 3 missed services calls. One service call where the tech showed up to say he didn't have enough time to work on it. Today they started to work on it and just disappeared for the last 3 hours. So far 7 hours today with no internet at all. Call repeatedly to ask for a supervisor, hung up on twice and they refuse to put a supervisor on the phone. This company sucks, stay far away from them. Only reason for 1 star is because there is no option for no stars read more

I got the old bate and switch. Sure we will come install high speed internet. Are you sure I work from home and can't be messing with my internet. So I was promised high speed they show up with DSL Jesus's CHRIST!!! Stop lying to get customers. I called Comcast Xfinity to come out. read more

The low reviews of this company are accurate. I live in a older part of Phoenix where the transmission lines are getting old. When it rains, my internet and telephone go out and stay out until the transmission lines dry out. I was told by the tech that these lines have to be replaced by a different crew and that he would escalate. After 2 years of different techs saying the same thing and nothing ever done, i cancelled the service. Sad part is Cox prices are becoming outrageous. No where to turn in this monopoly environment. Good Luck! read more

We mistakenly did an electronic deposit from our account to CenturyLink instead of another account. They are currently holding 2024.00 in overpayment hostage and will not give us our money back. They want us to provide a full copy of our bank statement giving them full access to information they should not be privy to . We have provided a screen shot with the bank routing info our names etc that shows the money was transferred but they won't accept that. They have told us they have a balance showing, but will not refund it. These people are thieves. Do not use them! We have asked to talked to managers 7 times been told we would get a call back and not received one at all and also been hung up on twice. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. CenturyLink - Internet Service Providers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I ordered new internet service on November 29 and paid $135.86 for professional install and the first month's bill. The earliest date was December 9, so I took that appointment and planned my move that day. The install time was between 12 and 4 pm. Around 2:30 I gave them a call to check on the status of the technician. The lady I spoke to said it was Saturday and she doesn't have access to the system where that information is kept. Odd. I hung up and hoped that things would be fine. The technician did not arrive. I called at 4:45 and was transferred to a rep overseas with a very bad phone connection. He apologized and said my payment would be refund and he would send someone to do the install in 10 minutes, then 10-20 minutes, then 20-30 minutes. Then things got weird. I had to make another payment for a smaller amount, one that I couldn't quite make out, but the bigger payment was being refunded. There was a series of beeps and I had to give my name, phone number, address, credit card info, and email address after each beep so it was recorded. After 21 minutes of going through this on the phone the man overseas thanks me and said someone would be out to my house. In 60 minutes. The technician did not arrive so I called, but their office was closed. I went into chat and was told that they didn't have much info about my order, but that it's on the schedule for Monday, the 11th. The rep had no other information. She didn't have the ability to cancel or give me a refund. What I ended up doing was writing them an email asking to cancel the install and refund my money. It's Saturday and they are closed on Sunday so I will probably have to take care of this on Monday. Just a really, really spectacular failure overall on every level. No show / no call by the tech, some odd call that took up 20 minutes of my time and obviously meant nothing to my situation, and now they are closed. And there's no one at the entire company who can tell me anything about my situation. Just...wow. read more

Truly the WORST customer service in the business. They are impossible to deal with and have this attitude that you and your needs are their last priority. CenturyLink is by far the worst internet company I've ever had. We're in the middle of coronavirus, which requires the entire nation to stay and work from home and CenturyLink has had an OUTAGE FOR THE PAST 3 DAYS! They have no idea what's causing it and don't know when it will be resolved. We can't do our jobs and CenturyLink has offered a $2/day refund for the trouble. The customer service is based in India and there's no one local you can speak with. Absolute worst company and people I've ever had to deal with. NEVER use this company. read more

CenturyLink has the worst Customer Service I have ever seen. They can never help, never show up, never schedule anything properly, constantly keep me on hold, or do blind transferrers from department to department, and have to explain myself 4 times to 4 different people. Their speeds are good, and internet connection and consistency are good/great. But their Customer Service is the worst, I would rather talk to a robot or automated service because the people that try and help are worthless. I give them a 1 Star for at least answering the phone....but nothing else is right. read more

Absolutely the worst company! Charging for services that were canceled over a year ago! We ended up having to switch our business line to a cell phone and close the account with centurylink because they couldn't transfer the numbers to the new location. Come to find out, they have been charging us for a second line that they say is now it's own account because there was no request to close it. David employee number 35385 is the only manager available and says there is nobody above him and no way to escalate the issue because the charges are valid. Funny the 2 other services were canceled and closed but because someone dropped the ball at centurylink and didn't cancel the fax line that couldn't be moved I am being charged over $1600 and there is nothing I can do according to David! In fact, he said he would add charges for the internet also since he doesn't see a request to close the account. Talked to 4 different people over 2 hours just today. Crazy what customer service has become these days. Stay far away from centurylink. They even know they have a problem and change their account numbers to prevent this from happening to customers in the future, according to David. read more

F*ck century link is the best way to start this. Zero stars should be an option just for them. I have never had worse customer service than with centurylink. We moved to an apartment on June 23rd and called them immediately to set up wifi and we were told the soonest they could get us a modem was in 3 weeks on July 8th. But that seemed to be the soonest anyone could get us set up so we took it. The day rolls around and the guy comes to set up modem and service and tells us that the work on his end was done, that it was up to the network at that point and it could take anywhere from 20 min. To 20 hours for the modem to connect. Turns out it can take 2 weeks? Because we still don't have wifi. We called the customer service line multiple times and have been left waiting 1-2 hours just to speak to someone. That is if you are lucky enough to speak to someone before the dumbass automated system doesn't hang up on you first. Finally we get an appointment for them to come out and when I tell you they knocked once on our door and waited not even 2 minutes before leaving. I was pissed. As soon as I got to the door to let them in they were gone already. So we called the customer service line again and we're yet again met with the god awful wait time and music to go along with it. We let them know what happened and they told us they couldn't get someone back out here until 2 weeks later. We said absolutely not we had already gone for so long without wifi not being able to do things for school or work at home and somehow they magically overrode the date to today july 19th. But get this they DIDN'T show up. My boyfriend gets a text from them saying they rescheduled for July 26th without even asking us or letting us know. That's bullshit! Good luck staying in business centurylink you just lost what looks like yet ANOTHER customer to cox wifi. read more

When I moved to Las Vegas, I had the misfortune of choosing CenturyLink for my Internet service provider over Cox. I live right off the Strip so there is no FiberWire or REAL Internet speeds available. This WiFi is THE.WORST. I live in a 1 bedroom condo. When I'm just streaming tv on my iPad I cannot also be connected to the WiFi on literally any other device or it buffers uncontrollably. I have to use my own data plan to be on my iPhone if I want to casually surf the web while streaming on my iPad. Even when I literally go disconnect every single device from the WiFi except for 1 that I'm streaming on, it STILL buffers unless I'm literally within feet of the modem. Sitting on my little patio, in the bathtub trying to watch something on Netflix - STILL WILL HAVE BUFFERING ISSUES. Like WHAT THE F. This is ridiculous. I had to just suffer through it with them and couldn't switch because my residency in Las Vegas is temporary (18 months) and would need a 12 month commitment to get Cox service. DO NOT OPT FOR THIS GARBAGE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER IF YOU LITERALLY HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION. read more

Trying to get help from centurylink today was extremely inconvenient. I was left feeling very unsatisfied and annoyed with the entire experience. I will not be recommending this to anyone I know. Don't take my word for it. Look at all the 1 Star reviews they received! They are well deserved! Speaks volumes. Here's what they do: they make you wait 20 minutes on hold and when you speak to the condescending rep, if you don't thank them over and over again THEY HANG UP ON YOU! It's a way for the rep to get rid of a problem customer because they can't solve the problem quickly. It hurts their closed ratio! read more

In 2016 I moved into an apartment complex for 6 months and needed internet service. I was forced to use Centurylink due to an exclusive contract with the apartment community. I only ordered the internet and received their modem and directions to install it myself. I know I would only have the service for 6 months so I kept the original box to return the equipment in. When I called to cancel the service, Centurylink emailed me a return shipping label. I boxed everything up nice and neat in the original box, affixed the shipping label sent to me by Centurylink and dropped the package off at UPS. 6 months later I receive a call from Centurylink collections department. They demanded $107 for failure to return their equipment. I explained what I had done and they told me to provide them with a tracking number. I told them it was their label, they generated the label, I did not have a tracking number and they said without it, they could not track the package therefore I was responsible for the cost of the equipment. I refused to pay it and consequently had a collection account on my credit for many years. In Nov 2018, I moved back into the same apartment community again on a temporary basis. I tried everything possible to avoid using Centurylink but eventually had to suck it up and order internet service again. Just like my first experience, I kept the original box and in May 2019 when it was time to cancel the service, Centurylink tried to get me to mail their package back. I refused based on my first experience. After 3 weeks of trying to find a Centurylink location to drop off the modem and obtain a receipt, I found that all locations were service locations, locked doors and absolutely NO customer access or support. I was forced to mail the modem back. I obtained a shipping label and dropped it off at UPS. This time I insisted on getting something from UPS with shipping information and a tracking number just in case. Surely they would not lose the modem again. HA! July 20th I receive a call from Centurylink collections department, I had a $150+ overdue bill and would I like to make a payment with a credit card? Uh HELL NO! I asked what the charge was for and the rep could not give me any details. I refused to pay and insisted they provide me with a detailed statement of the charges owed. The only available method was for them to mail the statement to me. They could not generate and send via email???? The next day, curious as to what was going on, I logged into my Centurlink account and reviewed my payment history. Everything was paid as agreed. No outstanding balance. So I called them. After 18 minutes of being on hold and verifying my account and identity, they informed me I had called the wrong department and I needed to call a different number. Ugh. I called the different number, finally got connected to a live person and I was told that the outstanding balance was due to failure to return equipment....I FLIPPED OUT. I berated the poor guy! He meekly asked if I had a tracking number....HA! YES I DID. I gave it to him and he put me on hold. 31 minutes later he came back on the line, told me the modem had in fact been received on July 3rd and he removed the charges. I got a confirmation number from him. I then proceeded to give him another earful. Why was I on hold for 31 minues? Why was I receiving collection calls when they had in fact received the equipment? Why was Centurlink so inept? How could Centurylink's business practices be so blatantly chaotic and borderline fraudulent and still be in business? He had no answer for me. It is my sincere belief that Centurlink received my first modem in 2016 but standard business practice is to extort money from their customers. It is my sincere belief that Centurlink should pay ME for my time and effort to correct their billing mistakes. It is my sincere belief that Centurylink should be sued in a class action by ALL of their abused and mistreated customers and should pay millions for their poor service and fraudulent business practices. The internet service is not too bad when it works. We never actually get the speed that we are sold on. The wort part is that when we have issues it is nearly impossible to reach customer or tech support. CenturyLink hands down has the worst customer service. I wish the company would go under with the amount of hell they put you through to solve an issue. Hang ups, dont listen, call centers in India complete with dumbasses. The good reviews here were probably posted by the company. I was set-up on auto-pay and happened to open a paper bill that was sent - found out they never cancelled my old service from when we moved A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. When I called to get this corrected, they only back-billed me three months. Okay, I get it that I should have caught this sooner. They then proceed to cancel the old account, but somehow is linked to our current house's account. No more internet. After five days and four phone calls (one hour each) without resolution, decide to cancel. Suddenly, they can't verify my current account to cancel. I would give zero stars if I could. Our internet went out approx 2 weeks ago. We called Saturday Aug 20th to inform Century Link our service was out. All through text, they tried to get it working. It would have been easier had they just called. Nonetheless, they could not fix it by text. First appt was not available till Sunday Aug 28th when a tech would come out! They make you wait all day for that tech! 8 to 5pm you are expected to be available for this tech to randomly appear. The night before the appt we get a computer generated call that they would come Sunday between 12pm and 8 pm and to be home or they would charge you if they had to come in. So we stayed home.
