Wish i could give less stars Customer service is absolutely awful these days. it takes too long to reach a REAL PERSON, and when you do they have to ask you 30 questions first. I called to cancel my service and they kept asking me questions about where I was moving and if I wanted to transfer my service. They have to send the final bill by paper mail even though I've been paperless the whole time. So now they have the new address cant wait to get their junk mail. To return your modem you have to print out a shipping label from their website, which you cannot find unless you google search "century link return label". read more

No pride I guess. It took me forever to find someone to take my info and make a ticket to fix this leaning, leaking pedestal with sharp metal edges and crap leaking into my yard. To my surprise, they came and marked the street within a day! But, I got faked out by the quick response. More to their reputation, nothing has been done for going on 2 months. DO NOT GO WITH CENTURYLINK!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY A CALL CENTER MANAGER. IDAHO FALLS LOCATION, JAIME G. Moving to a different state and we were ready to sign with Cox Communications because they were recommended for our new area, but the agent told my husband that he would pull a hard hit on our credit, in order to sign us up. Since we were previous customers with both Century Link and Direct TV, we decided to give them a call and see if they can offer us a better deal for our new area and not have to pull our credit since we were past customers. We also needed our install as soon as possible. Really frustrated because the person that helped us on the phone was very helpful and courteous and so I trusted him, and now I feel like I was conned. He offered me a direct tv and century link bundle package. Mind you this whole conversation was on speaker phone and my nephew heard the entire conversation and was taking down notes. So impossible that we both heard wrong. 1. He said that the direct tv install would be done asap. And the century link install would be done Tuesday of the following week. I called on a Friday. 2. After deliberating the difference packages, we decided to push through and reapply to these 2 companies. BUT here were the snags. He apparently also need to pull my credit. At this point I just assumed all companies do this so I obliged. 3. After my credit was pull, he said the earliest install date for Direct TV was 2 week out!!! I felt trapped at this point since he already pulled my credit. I just shrugged it off since at least century link was going to be installed sooner. Fast forward a week later, today is Tuesday, I cleared my entire afternoon for the install; I get an automated voicemail from Century link that the install was scheduled for tomorrow! See attached photo of the voicemail transcript. I immediately called century link to confirm why the schedule was changed and the agent tells me that my install is actually for Thursday! The agent was also pretty snappy with me. So I asked for a manager, mainly to see if he can do anything to rectify or at least appease my frustration. After 5 minutes, the manager gets on the phone, sounded like he was eating, and was the same, dismissive of the situation, apologized for the miscommunication but said he can't get us a sooner date for install and encouraged me to just go with a different company. His name was Jaime G. from Idaho Falls. He didn't even offer to rectify the situation or didn't even see what he can do so this doesn't happen to another customer. It felt like this company just wants to snag you into signing up, then once you've done that, they don't care about good customer service or retention!! At least that specific manager was quick to offer for us to go with a different provider. My business did not feel valued at all. At this short of a notice, I have no choice but to stay with Century link because I put down a $75 deposit and I doubt I'll be able to find another company that can install sooner. If you want a company with good customer service, that will take care of you after you signed up -DO NOT GO WITH CENTURY LINK!!! You will be extremely disappointed and will feel stuck like I am. read more

My internet stopped working and when I called to have it fixed they gave me a twelve hour window of when they would be able to come fix it. After calling again when it was not fixed within this twelve hour window, I was told it would be fixed first thing in the morning. I then had to call a third time to see why it had not been fixed "first thing in the morning", I was then told that they came by at 8pm. This was not only outside of the twelve hour window, but also a time when my the office of my apartment complex was closed which meant they couldn't access what they need to fix it. After explaining this they told me that they won't be able to come out until the following day. I find it ridiculous that it takes over three days to repair internet, and they refused to take any money off of my bill. They really need to reconsider customer service values and the quality of their product. read more

I have CenturyLink for internet only. I have no other choice, it appears, in my area. If you have a choice, stay away from this company. The internet freezes often and the customer service is horrible. A representative by the name of Dustin was yelling at me because they over-charged me. If you ever need assistance from this company use the chat that they have available. I complained about the representative to a manager and he offered me $10 off. I tried to escalate the issue and got no response from the company. For the last 3mo I have had to contact the company because they continue to incorrectly charge me. Last month I agreed to $25 a month for internet only. I received my bill and they are only charging me $1 for internet and $97 for TV. I don't even have TV with this company. I have had the worst experience with century link and I didn't even have service with them. I was renting a house and the home owners did not want me adding any kind of services to the house. I had to cancel century link with in a week or so, returned the modem with in the 30 days. 9 months later I got a letter from a collections agency telling me I owed over 200 dollars for the modem and the service. Called Century link got transferred about 10 times and was on the phone for over an hr and getting nothing resolved. They don't take things seriously/ take care of you until you get annoyed and upset. Would not recommend them to anyone and they should probably work on their transfers to each other instead of having to re explain your situation 10 different times to different people in different departments. I ordered CenturyLink service for the house I would close on January 13 in late December to be in service on February 1st. CenturyLink sent my modem to the house before I owned it and it had to be sent back to them since it was not delivered. CenturyLink charged me a $25 fee for this. CenturyLink billed me for January when I had no modem, service, or even ever asked to have service in January. CenturyLink resent my modem to my work address as requested and I received it on February 8. I connected it and it didn't work. I talked to customer service for hours that night and tried every phone jack in the house and none of them worked. I scheduled a technician to meet with me on Friday to resolve the issue. I provided my phone number and was told I would be notified either via text message or a call when the technician would arrive within the four hour window provided and I would leave work to meet them. I received notification from CenturyLink I was added to their text message service but never notification that my technician was coming or had arrived via text or phone. I came to my house and waited and waited. I called near the end of my four hour window and was informed the technician had come and fixed the problem. I have retried every jack in the house and none of them work. The problem is not fixed. The next service I could schedule is the 19th - almost 3 full weeks after I ordered service and I'm skeptical that it will ever actually work. Meanwhile - I'm receiving bills and taking PTO to try and meet with technicians who never notified me they were coming and 'fixed' the issue from outside the house. Already needing a service repair visit within the first month of service, The rudest people, who couldn't care less about your business, on top of transferring me around because they did not want to deal with my issue. So far in the past two months of having service with Century Link, it's been one stressful fight after another with them. First of all, they activated the internet service before we even moved into our house, so we were paying for a service that we weren't even using. They checked my credit twice, lowering my credit score each time for no reason. They set up two accounts for one household, and I literally called twice a week asking about cancelling the second account (They all said they did), until one faithful day they disconnected our internet service because the second account that was supposedly cancelled was still active. It took them 15 days for a repairman to come by to check why our internet was not working, and he said it was because no one ever came before to plug in the cables to activate the service!!! Now, we're fighting them because they want to charge us an activation fee because they set up a THIRD account in order to reactivate our internet, even though they admit it was completely their screw up after screw up that our internet service is so messed up. Also, they keep charging us anywhere between $50-$120 when our contract with them is internet service for $35/month. Do yourself a huge favor, and just pay a little bit more (or the same price) with Cox (or you'd be better off living without any internet at all). read more

I would give Centurylink a negative rating if at all possible. Completely misleading business practices that should be illegal if they are not already. Unfortunately, Centurylink is one of the big gorillas in the communications business so I doubt they will get more than a slap on the wrist for such practices if anything. I purchased PRSM and internet service for 1 year. Initially I was told by the sales department that they had a fiber optic internet connection to find out it hasn't been fully rolled out so instead I ended up with much slower DSL. Their internet service is the worst - when watching Netflix it would inevitably hang up on me during the biggest action scene. Regarding PRSM, when you initially sign up they give you all sorts of discounts that end half way through your contract such that my bill actually doubled during the last six months. If you call customer service, they generally act like they are doing you a favor by answering the phone. To top things off, when you try to cancel, their customer retention department tries to keep you by telling you all these wonderful "new" deals that are available to you now so you sign up for yet another year of bad service. Then they tell you to be careful of the other companies because they will make you sign a year contract with discounts that will expire shortly after you start service. I couldn't believe my ears and actually had to tell the gentleman that that is exactly what Centurylink did to me and why I will no longer be a customer. I also told him that some of the competitors don't even require a contract. Finally, you cannot cancel your services immediately as you can with other service providers so you end up being charged for services you no longer want or need because their ticketing system takes a few business days to process cancellations (how convenient is that for them...). By the way, I am starting to think people who are purchasing services should be allowed to record the conversations the same way these companies do. How many of the negative reviews talk about customers being told one thing by sales and then ended up with something completely different? Sure, we can read the fine print more closely but you usually receive that AFTER you sign up and these companies are essentially committing fraudulent advertising... read more

I have been with CentryLink for just under 2 years. My internet service has been spotty especially within the last year and has progressively gotten worse in the last 6 months. As of today I can not go a single day without the service completely shutting off with no warning whatsoever. The service may or may not come back on immediately but usually not. I have called Customer Service within the last couple of days and have had very rude Rep's. Today a girl named Cece not her real name but close, cut me off and sent me to Tech Support, once in Tech Support I complained and the gentleman seems very concerned and promised that he would ensure that my complaint was addressed but then he ended up hanging up on me. Wow how quickly he contradicted himself...I am happy to say that I only have two more day with these boneheads. Cox will be installing their service tomorrow, Yeah...I am not from San Francisco, I am from San Tan Valley, AZ, not sure why its showing San Francisco, CA??? The Internet and customer service is AWFUL! I had century links Internet service and hated it! When we moved into a new home, my husband wanted to give the Prism TV a try. I advised against it, but he wanted to give them another try. When the tech showed up to install the equipment, she put the main router upstairs. The connection was so slow and it was difficult to get Internet service down stairs. After a year, we called to have a tech come out and upgrade the service. The tech was to upgrade from 40 megs to 60. He moved the router downstairs and still we had the same problem. After another couple of months, we got so frustrated with the service that we decided to switch companies. When we called century link, they informed us that we were still running at 40 megs! We paid for a tech to up grade us, our bill was increased, and they could not even find record that the tech came to our house to assist with the upgrade! My husband spent hours on the phone with their Escalation department and they told him that it was our fault that we did not have any record that the tech ever came to our home!! The customer service rep refused to do anything for us and would not waive the $200 disconnection fee even though we paid for a tech that supposedly did not come to our home and we had been paying extra monthly for an upgrade we never got! Needless to say, this is one of the worst companies that I have ever delt with! If you are thinking about getting century link for your Internet/television service, please save your self the money for terrible service or for services you think you have but do not! If anything, save yourself the massive headache of dealing with a terrible company!! read more

Very very bad internet provider which I ever seen.. they are doing frauds by saying fake promotional offers .. very bad customer service and they will be very rude.. High level managers will not give respect .. there is no zero rating here else I would have gone for that option.. after 1 year , they promised me to apply some discounts/promotions and informed me the finalized bill for second year will be 75$ after applying the promotional offers but the final bill which I have paid was 140$.. I have called customer care 5 to 6 times and told the same story again and again to each one of them but finally they didn't do anything as well as no refunds.. also they will say no contract in the advertisement as well as sales person will convey the same.. But there are contract break fees which you will come to know if plan to get rid of this CenturyLink service (hidden by centurylink) I have paid 202$ as hidden fee which they have forced me to pay .. !!! Never ever go to CenturyLink !!!.. I hope this tiny info will save others from falling in to this worst internet service provider read more
