Quality - There internet worked pretty well. It did cut out sometimes early in the morning around 01:00-03:00, probably due to system updates. They raised their minimum speeds, initially, I was on a 50Mbps speed, but my last speed test showed I was around 80-85Mbps. This did come with an increase in my monthly bill (from $50 to $65) and there is now a fee ($3) that I'm not sure what it is for. Value - The price per Mbps is good. Based on the numbers above it was about $0.75 per Mb. Compared to Cox which offers 50Mbps at $50 is $1 per Mb. So it really depends what you need the internet for and if you prioritize value or overall cost. Service - When I call Century Link, I'm usually on hold for 25-35 minutes when I call in the morning. I couldn't use their website to perform what I wanted so I had to call, but there is no call back option. I also did not have one of my signals when I got set up initially. One of the cross box connections was wired incorrectly so I was only getting one signal. It took a few visits from a technician to figure it out. When I check their website for internet plans, I see there there are two options for a monthly price of $55/month so I don't know why I was paying $68/month, but I wasn't even offered that when I wanted to cancel service. Also be aware that if you cancel one day after the start of a billing cycle, they will not prorate it. You will need to use their service for the remainder of the cycle even if you already have a new provider. read more

Their customer service is awful. I called to have my late fee removed because they increased their prices and I had auto pay through my bank. They would only remove the late fee if I did auto withdrawal run by them. That doesn't work for me and my budgeting when they can decide it's time for a rate increase. They absolutely have zero human ability to not read off of a script and listen. It's the script it or nothing. Then I googled locations in town to return their equipment asap and was met with equally rude people that just hang up on you (twice) when they don't know the answer! Awful customer service. If I had one word to describe Quantum Fiber, it would be incompetent. I went into this knowing their customer service reviews were poor, but I was willing to tolerate that if it meant reliable, fast internet. Unfortunately, from the very first interaction, this experience was a complete failure. During my initial call, I clearly agreed to an installation appointment on February 14th, during the 8-10 a.m. window, specifically to avoid taking time off work. The representative and I discussed February 9th as the earliest available date, but the only window that day was 2-5 p.m., which I declined. We agreed on February 14th. After the call ended, I discovered I had been scheduled for February 9th anyway. I rearranged my schedule, left work three hours early (losing pay), and stayed home for the appointment. At 4:30 p.m., I received the following text from Quantum Fiber: "Quantum Fiber: We apologize, our technician is running late for your appointment. We'll update you once they're on the way..." Based on this message, I reasonably believed the technician was still expected that day. At 5:10 p.m., I called Quantum Fiber to get an update and was told -- shockingly -- that my appointment was actually scheduled for February 17th. This was after multiple emails and text reminders confirming the February 9th appointment. When I questioned this, there was no accountability. I spent nearly 50 minutes on the phone attempting to reach a supervisor. I was repeatedly told none were available and that someone would call me back "in an hour or two." I explained this was unacceptable, agreed to hold for five more minutes, and waited an additional 15 minutes before disconnecting. To make matters worse, Quantum Fiber had already withdrawn money from my bank account despite no service being provided and no installation occurring. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my bank. A supervisor attempted to call me back approximately 45 minutes later, but by that point the damage was done. In total, I lost five hours of my time, lost wages, and received zero resolution. This was one of the most disorganized, frustrating customer service experiences I've had with any utility provider. If you value your time and expect basic competence in scheduling and billing, proceed with caution. read more

I strongly recommend staying away from CenturyLink if you value your time, money, and sanity. My experience with this company has been extremely frustrating from start to finish. Customer service is absolutely terrible. Every time I called for help, I was routed overseas, and communication was very difficult. It felt like the representatives were reading from scripts and not actually listening to or understanding my issue. My concerns were repeatedly ignored, and no real solutions were offered. Trying to resolve even a simple problem turns into hours on the phone with transfers, long hold times, and zero accountability. Instead of helping customers, the system seems designed to wear you down until you give up. Reliable internet service is important, but reliable customer support matters just as much -- and CenturyLink completely fails in that department. Century Link Beginning of November 2025 try to change my modem password, but my online account won't let because modem doesn't show. Called 800 number to help me, Century Link representative can't either, because SN of my modem, can't be found. They decided to send me a technician. When technician showed up tried to get in my house, I ask him if he can cover his shoes before get in, and he just turn around and left. Called back the 800 number, again, let them know what happened, then my bill shows a $99 technician charge. Call customer service and ask why I'm getting charged for the technician when he never did anything, just left the appointment repair, because I ask him to cover his shoes before getting in my hose. The representative said not to worry about because is gonna credit my account. After 2 weeks no credit of $99. Called again for the 3rd time, explain again, this time representative is telling me no notes about the $99 credit, and I'm responsible for the charge. Then I ask to speak to a manager because start to get tired of running around. Later got called from a supervisor, and explained again the whole problem, even the supervisor decided to tell me I'm responsible for the charge. I offered him to pay for my service but not the $99 for the technician, and close my account because I have enough with this company, customer service very bad, being with them for 6 or 7 years i need help with my service couple of times, every single time headaches. Dear Century Link and respective followers. We wanted to provide some feedback on a recent service experience with CenturyLink. We hope CenturyLink (Quantum Fiber) uses this feedback to improve their customer service. First, we'd like to say we have been customers for approximately 8 years or so. We have been fortunate to use the 1GB fiber service and the physical service itself, has been excellent. We've had very few, if any, outages and have really had a pain free internet experience thus far. Unfortunately, that's where the story turns. The primary power plug / supply connected at the main terminal in our garage is fried. It has no lights, no power, no nothing. We troubleshooted with other outlets and it's toast. So on December 24th, we reached out to CL via the chat to schedule a service technician. For the most part, the chat went well and they said a tech would be out on Friday the 26th. Totally acceptable considering the Christmas holiday. We were told we'd get a confirmation email and text, but never received. The chat does appear to be outsourced to team members based in India. So come Friday morning the 26th, we followed up via Chat and telephone. Chat said they apologized but the tech was never scheduled because of a recent change with splitting up the phone service bill and internet bills, whatever that means. And they could not physically schedule a technician. It was an IT problem on their end, allegedly. After nearly an hour on chat, we gave up. They said we'd have to wait 48 hours, then another 24, before we could contact them again. Not sure why that would matter. A few hours later, we decided to call. Same thing, but with a person - based in Central America. This person, Louis, said he would own the experience and call me back on Monday the 29th. No call. Not surprised. On that Saturday the 27th, we tried again via chat to see if we could do something. This was after another hour or so of not getting anywhere Saturday morning. Somehow, someway - we were told an appointment could be scheduled.....for January 5th! Now, we did finally get a confirmation email and text, which was somewhat reassuring. But no WIFI, no internet, for approximately 2 weeks. I understand these are "first world" problems, but when you are a remote worker, you have young kids, etc. - this is a major imposition. It is now January 5th. We were told a technician would be here between 8-5. No tighter window as they normally would do on the day of the service. We got an update in the afternoon that the technician was pushed back to the 8th, 3 days from now. We have found it's very difficult, if not impossible, to speak to a local team or local technician crew. Everything is outsourced and while they claim to "own the experience and make us happy" - it's simply not true or effective. At first, we were merely trying to schedule a service technician. It went from 2 days to 2 weeks out. We could do it online either. We had 3-4 chats, 1-2 phone calls, and our issue is still unresolved. Speaking of unresolved, they want you to complete a survey after communicating w/ the chat team. They ask if the problem or issue was resolved. Well if you schedule a technician, how could the problem be resolved at that time? Don't you have to wait until the technician arrives at your home and solves the problem? The chat survey should be about the interaction with the representative only, not what may or may not happen after the fact. Once the technician service is complete, then you could ask if everything was resolved or provide comment on the overall experience. It's still very difficult to believe it's this difficult to not only schedule a tech but have to wait 2+ weeks to have someone out here. CL needs to recognize there are numerous competitors out there now and it's not just Cox and CL. There are options and they are going to lose customers, most likely us. A consistent customer, approximately 8 years, paying $100 per month. Truly a shame that an actual good and reliable physical service, can be outdone by poor customer service and internal systems. read more

I've had Century link for many years. They continue to raise the price and the product is not very good. I switched service to Star Link on Tuesday the 10th of March 2026. I called century link 3 times to cancel my account on that day and was told that they were having issues and to call back in 3 hours. Each time I called, it took 10 to 15 minutes just to speak with a living person. I called again early on the 11th and again I was told to call back. I reported them to the Utilities Commission and was told that they would contact Century link. I tried again on the 11th and the girl that answered, actually cancelled the account. However, they are still charging me for the internet until April 8th. Long story, I will need to pay another 138.48 for nothing! This company sucks big time! read more

What's positive: the service itself is pretty dependable. Not lightning fast but ok and does not go down often. By nature, I want to like it. What's annoying: virtually every month, they have a price increase. Like clockwork. If you don't pay attention, maybe you don't even realize you are paying $20 more now than you did a year ago for the same thing. What's really messed up: Centurylink no longer has any physical store in Las Vegas in which you can sit down with a rep and ask questions about different plans. It is a major utility relied upon by many thousands in a city of over 2 million people and yet there is no one on the ground to talk to. This is wrong and not fair to consumers. Let's face it - the plans and billing structures are complicated and difficult to make sense of. On purpose? Each bill is 8 pages long single spaced. To not be able to talk to a Centurylink rep in person means you are on the phone with a rep based in India. Not the same ease of communication for either party. They are seemingly trained push stuff on you, not simply answer questions. Its eye opening how absent the level of customer support is. T Mobile, Verizon, Cox all have stores that you can walk into and talk with a rep. Its not like Centurylink is offering some deep discount service to justify making it this way for the customer. They've simply got away with making it crappier and crappier. Conclusion - I wish I was with another company. I would advise anyone starting out to think about the above. It feels like this company is doing everything it can to reduce its costs while at the same time doing everything it to justify why it raises your bill every month. I think my home fax line has been with CenturyLink for 10 years. It's probably been down for the last five years. Over and over and over again I asked for techs to come out and service the line & the thing across the street, the line in the house, etc., etc.. And they do. But nothing ever gets fixed! This time has taken literally seven weeks to get the home fax line up and running again, and it is still down at the time that I am writing this. Even though I was promised another technician to come out and finally fix it, same day, but no! I got a call from their 800 number, which originates out of an India callcenter, no surprise there as they mostly do, saying that they don't want to fix it because they don't want to go to fiber lines. Can they just cancel my service, unilaterally. This company is the worst ever! If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would! Run away from this company! All their equipment is obsolete, and again they don't want to fix it or upgrade it and they are going to stop servicing areas that are monopolized by other companies. Aka Cox. Which I went with after all this horrible service and for only $16 a month. When CenturyLink was charging me $99 a month for shit or no service! Reputable companies, go with those. read more

The only time you can get a person on the line is if you click new service and they will tell you they can't transfer you. This is the biggest pos of a company I've ever used. If Zero rating was offered, ZERO is definitely warranted. I Moved into my home recently and needed internet service. I was talked into giving Century Link a try as I only wanted internet/WiFi and it was reasonably priced. From the moment I phoned to set up service I should have seen the red flags and hung up the phone.I asked questions yet the the answers were hard to understand. Everyone I know who has internet through COX has 940 MBPS or more. No one I spoke to at Century Link TOLD me the fastest speed I would have is 40 MBPS. 40! When I asked this question upon ordering, I was informed "it is the fastest speed, no problems with it." I needed internet immediately as I have all my bills on autopay and needed to update address/zipcode for billing; Many documents to sign regarding other issues; I needed to change the new address on everything. They came out to install 3 days after I got here. At least I had my phone to use through t-Mobile. After the install, which the technician came inside my home ONCE to place the modem (I should have KNOWN something was OFF when he needed an OLD phone jack (shades of the dial up days). He worked outside, and left. We had NO internet or WiFi after that, and my cell phone started acting up. My daughter's phone stopped altogether. I phoned Century Link (minimum of 4 times) and each time I was just read from a "customer service handbook" how the associate would "own the experience" (and I had a difficult time understanding the accent with each individual). They set up a tech to come out in 3 more days... and when that technician came out, they found the PHONE JACK was dead (had the first guy checked it, it still would not have worked due to a POOR weak signal), and we still had NO internet at all. I cancelled century Link ASAP, I phoned COX the next day, they came out, hooked up the internet with 1000MBPS and it worked like a charm. It irked me also that I still had to pay for the full month (in fact my auto payment came out today) for a service that NEVER WORKED ONCE! Poor customer service ALL AROUND. I live in Aliante and it's not like I am living in a cave with no reception. You get what you pay for. read more

Well because Quantum has no customer service, direction or method to their madness. Their contracted team VSI was supposed to come out and bury the line, but instead they spent 3 hours rearranging my landscaping and then dipping out. The tech came and couldn't complete the install because there was no line. Numerous missed days of work, countless calls and arguments with CS and we were promised that a tech and VSI would be put together, but low and behold we were ghosted by VSI yet again who never bothered to show, thus wasting our time and my PTO. You were quick to take our money but slow to do your part. That's why we'll be looking elsewhere and recommending that everyone stay far far away! read more

Had them for about 4 years it was ok experience and they were recently acquired by ATT and their reliability just went down hill lots of sporadic ins and outs and when I called the customer service it was so unprofessional first one was someone picked it up just breathing for 3 mins hung up called again somebody picked up but no answer for at least 40 seconds lots noise in the background and heard footsteps and then somebody picked up and I said thats very unprofessional, the lady responded and kept repeating what unprofessional many times I just hung up and never even bothered to complain. Went with a different provider the next day! Our experience with ATT has been horrible in the past and when you try to cancel online its going to ask you to call a number and you have to go through the process again with a live agent. THEY SCAM MONEY OUT OF THE ELDERLY PEOPLE. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEM. I set up my parents with their internet over 10 years ago. They for some reason had the wrong email this WHOLE time. About two years ago their bill went up $20, they thought it was due to inflation, because lets face it everything is going up, netflix hulu, etc. Their internet went out a few days ago, and I had to help, and realized they had been RENTING a modem for over 10 years. Meaning they paid $2000 if not more for a $200 modem. So we immediately ordered one so we can get that fixed. I fixed their email and logged in to make sure they took the modem lease off, they didn't but when looking I seen they had been charged for a wire protection plan for the last TWO years. Nobody asked them or contacted them for this. They said they emailed the new quote, I said you guys had the email wrong they did NOT agree to this, which then Century Link admitted they put it on there without their consent but "they could have called to have it removed the same month they put it on". Yeah, blame the people who are not getting bills because you have the wrong email and did not ask for this service. So between this random fee that is supposed to be paid to "avoid the 99 technician fee" and a rented modem they paid over $4000 extra. When asking them to give some kind of credit for their mistake, they said they couldn't. Please do yourself a favor and get a different internet! BOO ON CENTURY LINK! read more

Quantum Fiber has been aweful. The speed was never was never great. The service has been quietly disconnecting everyday. (The WiFi is connected but no internet, all my devices show this for 5-10min at a time) calling their service hotline is a nightmare. They are condescending and wasn't able to fix the problem. Had them come to the house twice with no change. Both my wife and I work from home. The internet is key to keep our lives moving. Having these downtime events EVERY DAY are so frustrating. Going back to COX, they are more expensive but more reliable. read more

I am extremely upset with this company.  My aunt passed away on Sept 4, 2025, and had CenturyLink internet service.  We called to cancel the service after she died in September, and noticed they had drafted money from her checking account in October.  I thus called them to have them reverse the charge.  They were adamant that the service hadn't ever been cancelled, and thus the funds were due to them, and they wouldn't refund.  I told them that while I was certain the service had been canceled, I certainly could provide a death certificate to show she was gone for the entire month, and that no bandwidth was being used....And guess what, it meant nada.  They wouldn't refund.  They also let me know additional amounts were due for the 1st week of October, (up to the date they had record of the internet being canceled).  I then had to plead with them to send me a paper bill for any additional funds they felt were due, (for the additional week of service that nobody was using), and that became an arm wrestle.  I explained that the account they were previously drafting from had only enough funds to pay back social security for the additional month credited, and thus to please not draft from.  And I can tell you, they couldn't care less.  They were concerned only that they be paid up to the minute they felt the account was officially canceled, (in October).  The proof of death in September meant nothing.Folks, as the trustee and executor for my aunt's humble estate, this was the ONLY service provider company I had issue with.  Everyone else was cooperative, credited service charges back to the date of death, etc.  I'm nauseated by the amount of "unfortunatelys", and "we can't do that's" I've heard.  Centurylink is simply not the kind of company I ever want to do business with, ever again. read more

They cut off my 90 year old mother's service as they were transitioning to Quantum after over 50 years of on time payments. Left her with no phone service for over 90 days, could not call 911 either. Now we can't watch any of our streaming bc they never finished last time they were here. There's no number to call so now we're just waiting. Picked up the service through Costco 3 years ago. Service was guaranteed at $69/mo for the life of the account because I was a Costco member. Within 6 months of installation, our bill was increased to $79/mo...for 80Mbps. Plus, I've only ever gotten phone reps who can barely speak English. When we recently cancelled the service, we found out we had to UPS the modem back to them at our expense, even though there was a local office I could walk it into. If this isn't a scam, it sure feels like one and I would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

They screwed that up years ago; could only get help online and now want you to pay for real person help. Online chat is a nightmare. 1 hour of my day wasted. Quantum fiber optics is untrustworthy-its connected to CenturyLink if not the same company different name. Quantum fiber optics takes your money and doesnt live up to what they reprsent! They have absolutely no idea of Customer Service follow up or follow through they are clueless! The service was installed then when the tech left the service stopped & they have not be in contact since even though I tried to get through numerous times- I got put on hold several times. The call dropped off then when I did get through, nobody answered there was a baby in the background, crying, and another time roosters crowing. How unprofessional! They told me they would auto cancel my account since CL and Quantum are affiliate companies...do you actually think they did? Nope! Don't be fooled by the $55/month ads... At the time when I got it the offer was $50/month and it increased by $10/month in less than a couple of months and of course there are equipment fees. They know it's not easy to change services as we have to stay home all day to see if they show up and then of course the return ordeal not to mention the hook up ordeal with the new provider. I now pay close to $90/month for basic internet in my home with CenturyLink. How ridiculous is that?! lol.... Select who you like to pay for services carefully. read more
