Strawberry Pineapple (L) and Raspberry Lemon (R) Splasher
    Dani B.

We happened to be on campus for an event and needed a drink. When we walked in it was quite packed, but no line to order. I got the Strawberry Pineapple Lemon with no carbonation and my daughter got the Raspberry Lemonade with carbonation. The Strawberry Pineapple Lemon was sweet which I love. My daughter loved her drink as well, so much that she wouldn't let me taste it. The service was quick and very helpful since it took us a minute to decide on the drinks. My daughter enjoyed the art on the wall that you are able to buy. Whenever we are on campus again we will definitely stop by. She did enjoy seeing all the college students, even though they are just students like her except not in middle school.

Came in and got two 20oz chai teas for my little sister and I, the inside was decorated well and had lots of seating. However the chai's tasted bland and watered down and upon speaking to the barista about possibly doing something to help the flavor they immediately told me they won't remake the drinks and I had to continually ask them to at least add something to the drinks to give them an actual chai flavor. They also informed me that they use a split syrup/powder mixture for their chais, which as a fellow barista/bartender I've honestly never heard of anyone using because it lowers the quality of the product. If I had been aware of them being made like that I probably never would have ordered them here.

Cute little place off Guadalupe street. I was most impressed with the merch so worth the visit. The horchata latte was delicious but a little too sweet. Still liked it. The empanada was okay. Not something I will crave but pretty good and I liked the vibe they were going for.

Stopped in here yesterday for a coffee and ended up staying for a little to work. The coffee here is really great! Not bitter and had a nice taste to it. The shop itself is cute with some good seating inside and out front and the staff was very kind.

Popped in for snack empanadas and left SUPER happy!! The staff is so friendly and it's a cute place very clean. Best part... you can tell the food here is made fresh! We ordered Cheeseburger Empanada (even had the dill pickle in it) and 2 Kolaches (Spinach + Feta, Brisket + Cheddar). Empanada was cooked to perfection. Not too crispy, not too bready and packed with filling. The breading on this reminded me of a southern biscuit almost. Kolaches were the favorite (spinach + feta to be more specific). The light doughy pocket almost melted in your mouth. It was buttery like a croissant and slightly sweet like a yeast roll. The flavor combos were spot on and perfectly paired with dipping sauces. Our drinks were so fun! Both tasted delicious... sweet enough so the coffee flavored shined with hints of the other flavors. The cupcake addition on top was of course picture perfect. 5/5 would recommend supporting these amazing owners!

Excellent food and atmosphere so close to campus. They have plenty of choices for coffee and baked creations.. Wonderful place to sit and chat or read or gaze at vivid artworks. Will definitely come back.

Good tasting coffee at standard prices. I LOVE the attention to detail. They have some Unique flavors and plenty of room inside for chilling/working/quick meetup. I got the blended cupcake latte and was totally satisfied. I work right down the street and Can't wait to try more flavors.

My favorite place on campus to study at and get delicious coffee! I love that they add in new seasonal drinks all the time. My favorite has always been their marshmallow latte! Super yummy and they also have some snacks too like tamale or pastry items. There tables inside so great for studying and hanging out. They also have a point reward system to save money too. There are some street parking in front of it.

Pros: - Decent amount of seating inside, but it might get crowded depending on what time of day you go. - The worker I spoke with was very nice. Cons: - The coffee itself tasted pretty watered down. Given the plethora of other coffee shops by campus, I probably won't be coming here again.

Such a cute place near campus! Employees are so sweet and welcoming. Definitely had better coffee (feel like it was a little watery) but wasn't terrible. A good place for a quick pick me up before class. There teas looked super good and seemed like a great place to study or meet up with friends

BEST COFFEE AROUND UT! I'm a huge Starbucks lover and I'd developed quite an addiction while working for them, so the boycott was a huge wrench in my day-to-day ventures. I tried just about every other coffee shop around campus and Centro is the standout by far! I've tried the iced americano, iced cupcake latte, iced caramel foamed, spinach feta kolache, and the spicy black bean empanada. All of them have been absolutely delicious! The wifi is great, the staff are super sweet and caring, and it's a much better study spot than Starbs! Definitely not on the cheaper side, but for receiving such quality food, drinks, and service from a small business it's totally worth it in my opinion!

Really wanted to love this place, but the coffee game needs some work. They have drip coffee and also lattes, mochas, etc. I'd recommend just going with the drip and asking for some milk. Perhaps the cold drinks are better. I'll have to come back in the afternoon to see how their ice cream and other drinks are. The got the soy chorizo empanada and didn't particularly like it, but I did love the brisket kolache. Their pastries also looked like it would be good. However, I really like the location - right on Guad and really close to UT. Parking is not bad in the early morning, but I anticipate it would be awful after 8:30AM. Another selling point is that it's clean and there's a good amount of seating. Music is not overly loud either which wins in my book. The owner is very nice and personable and you can tell after 10 minutes of being there that he has a good amount of regulars who like the place. Really good potential to be a nice spot if they up their coffee game.

Nice and spacious inside, delicious coffee and AMAZING service. The food options have all been wonderful as well, I love the empanadas, specifically soy chorizo and brie and my friend likes the bagel breakfast sandwich. My first choice for coffee in the UT area!

Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.
