We were seated right at our reservation time and our attendant was friendly but all business. Food came quickly and tasted great. This is a great sport for breakfast or brunch. Boozy brunch options exist and seasonal options abound. Lots of people had biscuits and gravy, also we had the basic breakfast and the Ole and the veggie omelet. Everything came out warm and tasty and plates were licked clean. I'd come back here any time I'm in the area.

Service: Excellent. They check in without being annoying even when it's super busy. The staff I've encountered notice nonverbal details when you need something. Wow! My first time here was a happy hour monday, which was cool but I felt like I had to go for the bargains on the menu instead of exploring what looked like a creative menu. I came back last night with a date and boy did they kill it for me! It was the night before MLK day so there were a few other revelers out and Centro was busy. We were greeted promptly at the door and after we sat the server was there to take our drink order in a flash. I hate having to wait for a martini, I'll tell ya. Our meal was AMAZING! We had the avocado salsa (like unmashed guac - the fresh avocado flavor was sublime) and shared the Roasted Chicken and Shrimp Taco plates. The spice was just right for me. My date thought her Taco's were too spicy and didn't eat much. The server noticed this and then the manager came over to take her tacos off the bill! I could wax poetic over the food all day but it was the service that was the coup de grace of our experience. Our server, Brad, was knowledgeable and charming and prompt. I only wish that there were more days in the year for me to visit Centro! read more

Not too great. The service was incredibly slow. We were never checked on, our server only came over to bring us our food which also took much longer than usual. I would have order at least 3 more drinks in the time she didn't come over. It was annoying being able to see that she was just standing in the kitchen talking to other servers or constantly rolling silverware. What was their priority, customers...or silverware? By the end of our entrees we just got up to get her instead of waiting longer. Centro had a nice atmosphere, classy with dim lighting...but the entire time we were there all we heard was LOUD clanking silverware. IT NEVER STOPPED, it was quite annoying to have to talk over. And in the end the overpriced food was decent but not spectacular. Someone in our group complained to the manager but he was no help, just insulting and unprofessional. All in all it was an alright night but I would have appreciated more from such a restaurant. read more

OMG!! this place was absolutely amazing! We ordered the Guacamole Smash Burger and the Potato Tacos, and everything was fantastic. The tacos were so incredibly delicious that I can honestly say they were the best tacos I've ever had. Without a doubt, as soon as we finished them, we immediately ordered a second round! The fries inside the tacos were perfectly crispy and added such a great texture and flavor. Every bite was outstanding. The atmosphere was also beautiful--such a great vibe, especially being right on Pearl Street. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to our server, Drew, who was fantastic. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that made our visit even better. I recently visited Centro for the first time since the pandemic began, and unfortunately, I left feeling let down. On the positive side, the restaurant's ambiance was lively and enjoyable, with appealing decor, and the waitstaff was friendly and provided excellent service. However, the main issue was with the food. In our group, there were three adults and one child. My daughter chose the chicken taquitos, but they were so overcooked that she couldn't eat them. As for the adults, we ordered taco boards, but they were remarkably bland. It seemed as though there was a serious lack of seasoning in the dishes. We found ourselves adding a lot of salt to our food just to give it some flavor. While the ingredients were certainly fresh, the overall lack of taste was a big disappointment. read more

My absolute favorite restaurant ever. Amazing food, impeccable service, and gorgeous ambiance. However, I discovered that they removed the nachos from their menu. I think I will go home and cry. Those were the best nachos in Boulder....maybe in the world. I don't know if I will ever get over this. Visited Boulder on Wednesday this week. Our experience at Centro truly made our trip to Boulder a special one. Service is very bad, it takes a long time to get a drink. We went for brunch and our server was taking a long time to get us pretty much everything. I get that being a server you have to wait for the bartender to make the drinks for your table but we sat there and watched and there was no reason for it to take that long. We go to Centro quite often. The menu changes and sometimes it is better than other times. It is still my favorite restaurant on Pearl. Go there for the Mojitos, it is one of the few places in Boulder that you can get a decent Mojito (other than my home). read more

Daytime bartender never said thanks or even goodbye, she walked away and then we never saw her again. Not sure if they split tips or how they do it, but we would have cashed out with her and tipped her had we been given the chance. As a first impression, and after many years in the industry, it was just really off-putting. We felt like we had come to the wrong place, and on my barely (!) ever day off, I was there to relax, eat, drink, and spenddd some money. The whole group was there to chill and were hungry... but we couldn't wait to just eat and get outta there. We ended up going somewhere else after for a second round of apps and lots of drinks. Kudos to the bartender towards the end, she seemed genuine and really sweet, I don't have her name but she had dark, shoulder (?) length hair. I ordered a Casamigos margaritas, something I've ordered here many times before for $16. When the bill came, I was shocked to see I'd been charged $26 for one margarita--the full $12 margarita price plus an additional $14 for Casamigos. I completely understand an upcharge for premium tequila, and I expected one. What I did not expect was to essentially be charged for both a margarita and a separate full-priced shot. Most importantly, our server never mentioned that choosing Casamigos would bring the price of a single margarita to $26. When I questioned the charge, the restaurant would not adjust it and instead offered a 5% discount, which unfortunately didn't feel like a meaningful resolution. Out of curiosity, I called two other Mexican restaurants in town, Teocalli and Verde, and both quoted me $16 for a Casamigos margarita. I'm sharing this mainly as a heads-up to other customers: if you request a specific tequila in your margarita, I strongly recommend asking exactly what the final drink price will be before ordering. A $26 margarita without any warning was a very unpleasant surprise. It felt shady, and I won't be returning.

Friendly, hospitable, and warm. To the point where she deserves a dedicated shout out in this review! Food wise, I went with the three pack of tacos. These are street tacos and very small. For $16.50 I was really hoping for something more filling. These were three bites each. Itty bitty tacos are fine when you're paying a buck or two, but for a restaurant setting I felt like I needed more umph! Having said that, they were very good. In order from best to worst, I'd rank them carnitas, pastor, and asada. The former two had really great flavors and the meat was tender. The asada was chewier than I would've liked, but still a solid rotation of tacos. I like that they are served with onion and cilantro, and that the salsa and crema are served on the side. These provided a kick and were necessary for the tacos. All in all, it made for a great bite. I just wish it was a more substantial bite! Would love to come back here with some people to try more of the menu and get drinks at the bar. Keep on shredding!

It was a huge poblano pepper -very tasty sauce and cheese and it comes with free chips. We also ordered the guacamole side. It was nine dollars, but it had three large scoops, so plenty to share. And then the crispy rellenos- my friend had said there's a lot of cheese in it which has melted in nice. Made with Anaheim pepper wrapped and deep fried. The service was fantastic. Friendly and fast. highly recommend. It's a little bit out-of-the-way from downtown but people come from the mountain communities to eat here so keep the secret.
