Not usually on the us side of town but had an appointment near by so decided to stop for pedis for my daughter and I.. seemed like a nice place at first but the lady who did my daughters nails was kind of rude, was in a hurry and did my daughters pedicure very quickly. Didn't even use the hot towel on her like they did on me.. Mediocre at best.. my lady was nice took more time but did not shape my nails evenly, and was not happy about that at all. One big toenail looks fatter then and more square then the other. I pointed it out to her and she said my nails are just shaped like that. I'm pretty sure it's never looked like that before but ok, I just paid and we left. We won't be back. read more

If you're looking for an incredible deal on gel manicures, Susie, the owner, will probably pick you up and give you a hug. Susie is just too cute! I turned to Yelp looking for an inexpensive place to swap out my gel nails. I had no idea there'd be a bit of comedic standup involved. Suzie is a master of ceremonies, keeping a sidesplitting running commentary between her clients and nail techs. A gel mani runs $25. Removing the gel is free (provided you get your nails done at Central Nails). I scored big time with a Yelp check in offer of 10% off. There is no additional charge for using a credit/debit card. So my nails only cost twenty-two bucks! Heresy! Other things to know... - If you just want to come in and have gel removed the charge is $5. - The salon is located in the Food City shopping center. - Walk-ins are welcome but note that appointments can be made. - There is a regular customer appreciation card. For every visit with services over $15 a stamp is collected. Ten stamps = $10 off of a service. - This isn't a full on spa experience. However, you will definitely enjoy your visit. If you go, be sure to ask for Henry! He did a bomb diggity job with my nails. And (!) he's almost as funny as Susie. read more

I assume this place got so many good ratings thanks to the insentive of a 10% discount.... Dark red gel manicure applied by the gentleman with long pointy fingernails ended up blotchy and looking messy. Plus got cut twice, once it bled. Ouch. Dont recommend. I won't return read more

Wanted a last minute pedicure with a couple of my friends and found Central Nails. We got the second option on the list (I forgot the actual title of it) because we needed it. The ladies doing our nails were amazing and kind. I have one friend who was being a bit nitpicky with her nails and the lady was very patient. There was even an impromptu Karaoke performance that happened! read more

I've been to Central Nails about 5 times for pedicures and always had a good experience - that is until my last one. I had a brand new tech, a young man, who obviously was having trouble. He was very slow and made awkward conversation like how old was I. The pedicure became awful after he cut my skin twice. The first time while clipping my toe nails, he cut one of my little toes causing it to bleed. Then, while using the callus remover, he scrapped the side of my foot (see picture). I stopped the pedicure. It hurt and I got teary, which caused me embarrassment since it was a pretty full salon. The owner came over, washed my feet, and put on a polish for no charge. She was nice but after this negative experience I don't plan on returning. read more

I found this place on Yelp and read some of the reviews, I've been to a lot of different places that haven't gotten my nails the way I want them so I thought I'd give this place a try since it's really close to where I live. I walked in and everybody greeted me with a warm smile and helped me right away. Suzie was the one to do my nails and she gave me exactly what I asked for (this has never happened before lol) I had an over lay done and a pretty simple polish done with a design on my ring finger. It's perfect! She was really nice and happy to help me. I think I just found my regular nail spot. I highly recommend this place. read more

I found them here on yelp. My first visit was for their basic pedicure. I had QT and she was great! I appreciated the sanitary measures that were taken, pedicure tubs had linings and the metal instruments came in a pre sealed sanitized bag. My nails came out perfect and clean. My experience was quick but didn't feel rushed. I would recommend central nails and I plan on coming back. read more

I got the male technician and he did the worst paint job I've ever gotten at a salon. He should not be allowed to do nails. I live in California and everything is closed because of COVID. I don't like to stray from my usual nail girls but I was in town and in desperate need of a manicure and pedicure. I found Central Nails through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised. I got a dip manicure (this was the highlight) and gel pedicure. Everything came out great and I would definitely come here again. Prices are average and they take cards (for tips too). read more

Suzy hooked it up! It's unfortunate that I didn't find her sooner. I rolled the dice and got "almond shaped" nails after always traditionally sticking with "square tip." Asked her to not scare me off with it. I also got pink acrylic for the first time and told her to not scare me off with that as well. I've seem wayyyy too many pink nail beds and it's tacky! All in all, good convo, she knows what she's doing and has owned salons in LA. I got a scalloped French and she couldn't have a steadier hand. Average pricing. $40 for a full set, gel, French tip, and pink acrylic. read more

Update I just waited over a hour for a pedicure and then when it was my turn the lady tried to use dirty utensils that have been used on who knows how many people. When I asked for clean ones she took the old ones went in the back rinsed with water and put in a bag that wasn't even sealed trying to pretend that they were new sterile utensils. I shouldn't have to ask for clean sanitized utensils this should be standard practice. I'm appalled at the people who work there and thanks for insulting my intelligence like I wouldn't know you brought back the same dirty utensils. You can keep your foot fungus and your disgusting habits. I'm done! read more

The gentleman (didn't catch his name) did my full set ($22) with French ($5) and gel ($5) He was very patient, let me think about what I wanted. Also he got to work right away on my nails. The salon wasn't dirty but it wasn't spotless. You can tell they try to maintain its appearance. They're also free WiFi but the password isn't readily available. (You have to ask) I even kept messing up my nails (I'd touch something on accident) and he was nice about it. ..fixed my nails no problem. The ONLY THING I can complain about is all the left over glue or acrylic left on my skin/fingers. Plus he kind of rushed a little towards the end, to get the next person. I ended up ruining my nails because he didn't make sure they were dry. Within 3 DAYS 4/10 nails lifted & fell off. I'd go back for a refund but I don't want them working on my nails again. Ridiculous. read more

Usually my boyfriend and I go to Kenzie's nails but lately their services have been lacking and their customer service not the best so we decided to try a new nail place and chose Central Nails. We LOVE this place! The inside looks amazing, clean and well kept! We went in for pedicures, the pedicure tubs were clean and they used lining to help with sanitation. The ladies working on our pedicures were amazing! The attention to detail on my toes was great and the massage was the perfect mixture of firm and relaxing. The only con we had was the time of the massage, 7 minutes compared to 10 at Kenzie's, which isn't a huge difference but it's the only thing we noticed that we wish was different. Besides the one minor con, the rest of the service was amazing! We will definitely be back and making this location our new pedicure spot! read more

This nail salon was .... Entertaining. The owner is super funny and fun to be around. They had some Latino mix music playing. The girl who did my nails was very meticulous. I hate leaving negative reviews but THIS WAS THE WORST SET OF NAILS THAT I HAVE EVER HAD DONE AT ANY SALON! Not only was the technique poor, and product cheap, but the technician Cassandra was rushing to leave and was distracted the whole time. I called in advance to make sure that it was a good time to come in to get my nails done and they told me "YES, you can come now." When I arrived they quickly started on my pedicure, and the nail technician Cassandra started on my nails. She was VERY distracted, and was rushing, she was standing the whole time while doing my nails, even after the woman who was doing my pedicure told her to get a chair and sit down. It was clear that she was in a rush and was ready to leave. After she finished my nails she was out the door in 2 minutes, I was still signing my name on my receipt and she was headed out the door! Someone else had to get the receipt after I finished signing it because she was gone. She funished a soak off/removal of a full set AND completed a new set of dip nails all before my pedicure was finished, that's how much she was rushing! I would not mind her being so quick and efficient if it was a job well done. However, this all resulted in a VERY poor job being done. The color and shape were great, but the dip was very thin and I had one nail chip 2 hours after I had just got them done. I returned the next morning and Suzy re did the chipped nail. While she was doing my nails she also got up and was distracted with other people SEVERAL times as well! I was only getting that ONE nail repaired and she walked away at least 5 or 6 times to do something else. Fast forward, 1 day and the same nail chipped along with 2 others. This salon is pretty, very clean and the staff were fun however the quality of the product used and the technique of the nail technicians is very poor. In addition to that the nail technicians wanting to have fun overshadoweds quality work. The attention they pay to the client is SEVERALLY lacking! This review and pics are posted after only ONE WEEK of having my nails done and my nails look terrible and have chipped horribly. I have been getting dip on my nails since 2017, from salons all over this country and I can usually go a good THREE weeks before one even chips. These are my nails after just one week, the quality of the work is terrible. I hate that I spent over $80 for my nails and pedicure and received such poor service. I will never return to this salon! read more

I just had the worst experience ever at this nail salon and I would leave ZERO stars if I could. I walked in and IVY was my nail tech. It was my 1st time there and I went to relax on my one day off. First red flag : Nail tech told me I could have a seat in the chair but when I sat down and put my feet in the water, it was scorching hot. I screamed and yanked my feet out. She barely apologized. I decided to let it slip as she regulated the water temperature. Red flag #2 . I wanted regular Polish and she kept trying yo upsell the gel Polish. I had gel on 4 toes from my previous Polish and she charged me $10 to remove just that. Red flag #3. Ivy, had the nerve to start lecturing me on how "dry" my feet were" and how I "needed" the deluxe treatment instead. Then she proceeded to tell me that I should take better care of myself. Like you do NOT know anything about me lady. My feet were not dry at all, as I exfoliate my feet every night and get them done at least every 2 weeks. I could tell she was just trying to upsell the deluxe treatment. Red flag #4 I told her I didn't want gel and she kept asking me over and over, even saying it's "better" for me to get Gel, since that is what I had before! I was so annoyed and just wanted to have my service completed so I could leave!!! But she just kept tapping my feet to get my attention to talk rudely to me and try to upsell me. I am so disappointed and I will not be back. I wanted to like this place so much because it's beautiful in there but looks can be deceiving. She barely scrubbed by feet and there wasn't even any soap in the water!!!! I wish I read the reviews before I came here. Go at your own risk!!! read more
