Trustworthy Neighborhood Locksmith!! I decided to add a second deadbolt for convenience and security purposes with our house cleaners, which gives them access to entering our home while away and a sense of peace knowing they don't have full access to our home. So, I decided to go with a local neighborhood business to support the community. When I initially called, they were upbeat and knowledgeable after holding for a sec. They had a very interesting hold song btw that made me realize these guys are probably old school and know what they're doing. Luckily, they were able to set up an appointment with a few days notice as well. On the day of the appointment, Paul was nice enough to offer an earlier time and was there at the time agreed upon. When he introduced himself he was very courteous and professional. He was purposely clear on communicating what was going to be done and even confirmed if I was alright with the placement/location of the new lock for aesthetic purposes. He was done in less than an hour and cleaned up all of the dust after the drilling/sawing. He was even generous enough to add longer "kick-proof" screws on all of my locks without asking. He was quite personable as well since he noticed I was listening to Guns and Roses while he was installing the lock and we chopped it up a bit about 90's rock and concerts hahaha. On a separate note, I called back to commend Paul on his service since it's not as common these days and asked if they can remake car keys and remotes for cars, which they do. Dylan was not only knowledgeable and knew his stuff, but he even gave a hot tip on buying the remote from Amazon to save money and time. These guys are looking out for their customers and it truly shows. Def some cool dudes and business in my book!! P.S. If you haven't already, save them in your contacts or bookmark them on Yelp!! read more

Excellent Service for our repair/replacement of our sliding door latch/lock. Paul was on time (9am), upbeat/friendly, and gave us an estimate within the first 5 minutes. The job was complete and our door latch was working by 9:30a. Best lock service ever!!!! read more

My boss somehow lost both his sets of keys, so he'd been leaving through the back door after locking the front door from inside the office. This not only meant he couldn't get in if I wasn't there, it also meant that when we hired two new employees we couldn't give them keys. The keys we needed duplicated are the kind that say "Do Not Duplicate." My boss had tried to get copies made and had been told "no" because of that. He was in a hurry, getting ready for an out-of-town trip, so he didn't have time to press the issue. Serendipity! I was bored, reading Yelp reviews for lack of anything more interesting to do. When I read Mithril's review of Centerville Locksmith and saw that they'd do "Do Not Duplicate" keys, I jumped at the chance! I called them to verify that and was told that I needed to fax them a letter on company letterhead authorizing them to make the keys. I did that, including a line saying that our employee would have a copy of the letter with them when they came to have the keys made. Our office is in Pleasanton but I live in Fremont so it was only logical for me to be the one to do this. I showed them a copy of the letter I'd faxed (it was actually funny because I was authorizing me) and had six keys made so that we'd have extras. All in all, I was in and out of there in 5 minutes and the price was cheap! The person who made the keys was not the friendliest person in the world and normally I'd take at least one star off for that - but, the speed and the fact that they'd do these keys more than makes up for that. Five stars for Centerville Locksmith! (and five stars for Mithril's review that resulted in me looking like a star to my boss!!) read more

Great, old-fashioned customer friendly business, located in a shared facility with the lawn mower shop. The staff at Centerville is extremely customer-focused and is willing to spend the time with you, no matter how much you're purchasing from them. It's a refreshing change from so many of today's businesses that only care how much you buy from them, or have no customer service or expertise whatsoever. These guys have a wide range of replacement keys/remotes (aka "shells") and have the knowledge and expertise to make your replacement keys quickly and easily. This is what a small, local business should be! read more

I needed a spare key for my 2008 Lexus RX350, Called this place and they say they have the key with cut and program for $180 plus tax, that save me over $100 compare to Lexus Dealerships. So I stopped by and get it done in less than 30min. He spent extra time try to program the key I got from EBay and it didn't work. If you lost your key and need a new key for newer car, save time and headache go straight to this place. I would go back if I ever need car key. read more

The reviews for Centerville Locksmith was good and since it was close to my home I decided to give it a try.I wanted duplicated copies of my work key to be used for a few of our sites. Though it was a simple key, my boss said it needed to be done by a locksmith and not a hardware store. It was quickly done, and for a good price at $7.95 for 4 keys. When I got home, I realized that the keys didn't look identical to the original copy so I decided to come back the follow day to confirm that it would work prior to trying it out on the field. The guy I approached the next day looked at it again and said it should work and to come back if it didn't. Unfortunately, it didn't work so I made my way back. To note, the drive from the locksmith to the site was about 12 miles out of my way. When I got back, the same employee helped me and seemed to be irritated that I had even come back. Rather than sympathizing, he seems more agitated. He said something along the lines of "you need to bring us a better key, we're just making copies." He took a few minutes to redo it again and restated that we need a better key next time. Luckily enough, his adjustments to the keys worked on our sites. The reason I'm giving a 2 star is for their customer service. Though they did fix my keys for no charge, the sense of irritation from the employee to fix THEIR mistake wasn't a great experience. If they originally hadn't rushed their work, then I wouldn't have had to make a few round trips and waste my time. Let alone, to be scolded by an employee that it was my key that was an issue. Umm hello, you're a locksmith and you're the know-it-all for locks & keys not your customers. read more

Not much to say here other than great job. I walked in with 3 keys and walked out five minutes later with 6. Clean, quick, and professional.

I have never worked with another locksmith but I do like this company. I called them to change my front door locks and they were willing to come out on the same day: ETA: 2 hour window. However, every time I've called, they came within 30 min of their ETA. Location was hard for me to find. It just seems like it is in a residential area but there it was! I would call them again. read more

My lazy landlord said they were having difficulty finding someplace to make a copy of a lock key for our ghetto concrete tennis court. I Yelped these guys, the nearest place to me, went there and to my surprise was a BIG ASS WALL of keys!!! I live in Sunnyvale and work in Newark, geez was it that hard to make a copy of a key for your tenant? $1.89 and then I was gonna be on my way but, yea the colored keys caught my eye and another 6 bucks and 3 more cool keys I was out of there. They also have gardening tools too if you need a lawn mower or tilling thingy. NEED A KEY?!!! TRULY RECOMMEND!!! They probably got it!!! read more

Centerville locksmith is on top of their game. I called them in to service one of malfunctioning keyless access locks. Paul was just the guy to handle it. Thank god there is a specialist local here in Fremont. Not to mention there was no charge for them to inspect the lock initially. I am glad to say we have found our new locksmith! read more

This place is awesome .. Came here to get a car key made that Home Depot, lowes couldn't do and they said I have to call my dealership but I found this place and they were able to do it and it was only like $2. Another time I needed another car key made and this place in San Mateo said it was gonna be like $60, freaking hella money!!! So I decided to go back here and they did it for $25. Great customer services! They really know what they are doing! read more

We lost our car key to our 1990 nissan 240, So we called a few lock smiths, they charge ranging $200-$250. I was able to remove the trunk lock, bring it to these guys and they were able to make another key from the truck lock, it does work with the ignition, both doors. Cost us total $30. Awsome business, thank you!! We appreciate your dedication to our community. read more

I had one working master key for my Toyota Corolla 2014. I also had 2 uncut keys which needed to be programmed and cut. Centerville Locksmith team was quick and helpful. They charged reasonably as compared to other locksmiths and their service & workmanship was up to the mark. I will definitely give Centerville any future business (and references) since they are dependable, they provide good quality workmanship and they charge reasonably. read more

Great family run feel. Been going to them for over 20+ yrs. Always honest & stands by their work!

Awesome job on getting key made from vehicle manufacturer code. Great set of guys with most excellent service. Just remember, if you have a key cut from a code, it has to work itself in and the wonderful people at Centerville will smooth the cuts so that it works perfectly! read more

Centerville Locksmith - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Newark, California

The best in Fremont . My car had a issue where keys were not turning in ignition . I went to get a quote . They said ignition cylinder tumblers have issues they can get the tumblers fix and keys polished to make sure they work again. Next day I dropped the car and they fixed it by afternoon . I was very impressed with their quality of work and they were reasonable with cost . When I enquired with 4 other locksmiths their quote was almost 100 dollars higher then centerville locksmith . I would recommend this place for any car keys and ignition cylinder issues. read more

I had a new hole drilled and a touch keypad deadbolt installed in my front door. Paul was on time, respectful, pleasant and efficient with his work. The deadbolt worked smoothly. He made sure I knew how to use it. He also cleaned up afterwards. Prices are reasonable. I liked the results of his job. Paul looks like he knew what he was doing, and I felt confident in his work. I would ask for Paul again. read more

Super fast service. Very friendly. Paired the remote in a few minutes. Smooth transaction, welcoming environment

Not really helpful. Went there to get my car remote duplicated and they said it is an after-market thing and they could not help me. What does that mean. You advertise that you can fix almost all car remotes and then you say that to me, WTH??!! read more

Don't get keys done often but if I need another set I will go back, friendly people fast service and very reasonable prices.

This is my first time doing something like this as I really don't lose things that easily. I recently lost my ONLY key to a 2003 V-Star 650 Classic, so I took the ignition system into their shop. Dropped it off for a few hours. BAM, two new keys. I didn't really asked how many keys I was going to receive and I don't really remember seeing a figure amount on the initial receipt he gave me, so naturally I just assumed I was to receive one key, however I was wrong. Too bad I had to move out of town. Now I have to go hunting for all of my services again. read more

The staff here are very professional and courteous. Someone vandalized my parents car by jacking the driver front door keyhole. When I called they walked me through all my options. They suggested I come in to have them take a look at the car. They ended up replacing the lock for us and grinding us a new key as our original key was worn out. read more

Paul, the locksmith that help me today and he was fabulous! He was knowledgeable and had helpful tips. Had a door knob break and the door was stuck shut. He quickly was able to resolve the issue with no damage to my door. He also helped with a stuck side gate latch/lock and went above and beyond to get it moving smoothly. Recommended the right outdoor pad lock that won't rust to fit the gate latch. He had such a pleasant and helpful approach to his work and also took Covid 19 precautions wearing a mask. Excellent experience! Thank you Paul! read more

Have them cut my key for my Lexus SUV and I am very happy with the result. Their customer service was good and their price was good. The other option for me is to ask the car dealer to do it but I feel it would cost a lot more. I am glad to have such a locksmiths store not too far away from where I live :-) read more

Needed to have some new keys cut for my Toyota. The dealer wants a couple hundred dollars for replacements, which I thought was insane, so I just bought some blanks on eBay and brought them in to Centerville. The guy was upfront about a direct copy possibly not working and not being able to guarantee the cut since I brought in my own blanks, but I told him to go ahead anyways. Turns out, both keys that he cut worked perfectly in the door, ignition, and glove box, on both sides of the key too. Price was a very reasonable $2 per copy and I was out of there in 10 min. No complaints at all about Centerville and I won't hesitate to come back again the next time I need new keys. read more

I had my house keys stolen and called Centerville and within one hour Paul came out and changed my locks. He was fast and did a great job. The total cost was cheaper than anywhere else I called. I would definitely recommend using Centerville Locksmith. read more

We moved in a new house and haven't gotten around making copies of our keys. My husband and I were in a hurry one time for an appointment we both forgot the keys inside our house! I paged their emergency number 3x no reply. No calls. We ended up sleeping over my parents house. Talk about 24 hrs. service! read more

Horrible service. I lost my Kawasaki key, I ordered new blank key from dealership and waited for 3 weeks for it to arrive. Took it to Centerville and the guy made the key wrong way. It didn't worked and wasted my $40 blank key. Had to wait another 3 weeks and got it done from Parker Security & Locksmith Service. read more

I have been trying to get a replacement key for my Harley Davidson for months. It's hard to find a locksmith with the correct machine to cut these tube / barrel keys for my motorcycle. Finally came across Centerville Locksmith and was very happy with the service. Walked in and was happy to hear they do cut the barrel keys. If you're looking for replacement Harley keys, you already know how much the dealer is charging. The guys here cut me two keys for less than a quarter tank of gas! I was in and out of the shop in less than 5 minutes. read more

i had to replace an ignition on a old and rare motorcycle, after calling everywhere and getting estimates that ranged from $50-$500 tried my luck at Cycle Salvage(great place for motorcycle parts) the guy there found a matching ignition for only $25 out the door the only catch was it didn't have a key. However he then referred me to Centerville Locksmith telling me they have every key known to man and that it would only be like $20 for the keys. i drove there and found this little garden/ tool center place in the middle of a neighborhood area, i went in and these two guys in their mid to late 40, one sitting the other talking to another gentleman(a customer/friend), both both guys behind the counter didn't really acknowledge me till i got to with in 3-5ft of the counter, i held up the ignition and said i needed a key and the guy that had been conversing a moment ago pointed to the left of the store and polity said that a guy should be over there. I went over to the key counter and was amazed at the amount of shiny key blanks hanging on the wall, i was tempted to just get all my keys redone into those cool custom keys but unfortunately a college budget doesn't allow me to spend that frivolously, the guy behind the counter was on the phone and i just decided to wait(apparently someone was asking if he had a certain key and his response something to the effect i said earlier that he had every key known to man, i only had to wait a minute or two before he was off the phone. i retold my story about going to Cycle salvage and he looked my bike and said the first key would be $3+ change and the any others would be like $1.50, i had to sign a paper and list my address and ph# for the DMV since i was copying an ignition key that wasn't attached to a bike but besides that i was in and out in probably 10-15min max i plan to take the gas tank in tomorrow and get him to key that too but i think i may bring the pink in with me, just to play it safe since i have to drive from San Jose and don't feel like making the trip twice. the attitude thing is here nor there i work customer service myself in an environment that caterers to a customer is always right type attitude and i usually expect(but disappointed most of the time) that same level of service and i will walk out of a place no problem at all but the attitude that these guys had was one of frustration that business is slow and they have to stand there for probable 8-12 hours a day and here another person that just wants to look, pick their brains on products then forget the mom and pop and run over to the big conglomerate store for the cheapest price only because they hire wahoo's that doesn't know jack about what their what they're selling. just my two cents (maybe a little more) but i will defiantly will be bringing any business i can to them. read more

Great place to find that specific key style. The wall behind the service desk is completely loaded with different style key blanks. They also carry blanks for Do Not Duplicate keys. Having to make key copies for my boss I found it somewhat frustrating (in a good way) that the company had to provide an authorization letter first (faxed or brought in) plus I needed my company's business card and proof of ID. I'm happy and relieved that they don't make copies of these types of keys without these challenges. The prices were great and service was fast, efficient and friendly. They also have a mobile service available - good to know if I ever get locked out. The shop is located in a residential neighborhood. As Centerville Locksmith is a local homegrown business I would drive the extra distance to support them. read more

I tried another top-rated locksmith that was a bit closer to my house but never got a call back, so I tried Centerville. I should have done this first. My call resulted in an accurate assessment of what needed to be done, and a few days later in the work being done, well done, in fact, and for a very reasonable price. read more

Yesterday was the first time I had locked myself out of anything (not bad for 30 years though, right?) and after first attempting to get spare keys for my apartment, I called Centerville Locksmith, which yelp showed was close by.
