So many whiskeys here! It will take a long time to try them all. We tried 5 half pours, which is 1/3 of 1 percent of the 1600 available. So it would take nearly a year going every day to try everything. That's probably not a healthy way to spend a year. You can always just walk in and order drinks (food available too) but curated tastings normally require advance bookings. But it wasn't busy so the bartender was able to spend some time with us even though the full tasting experience wasn't available at the time. read more

Had a wonderful dinner here at Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder. The place is operated by the same establishment that runs the Celtic Whiskey Shop at Dublin and online. The location has a full bar packed with delicate bottles of whiskey and a restaurant menu. Came here on a November evening with reservation. The Killarney was at quiet season so there were plenty of tables available. Seafood chowder: perfect thickness and texture, not overly gooey. The seafood tasted savory and fresh, and the texture was tender, so they were definitely NOT those frozen products most restaurants would throw into the chowder. Seasoning was spot-on. Chicken supreme: chicken breast with skin on. The skin was quite crispy. One slice of breast tasted quite juicy, the other side just slightly on the dry side. All other elements worked together very well. My friend's braised beef rib came in generous portion and very tender texture packed with red wine and gravy flavor. Only wish there were more gravy to go with the dish. After dinner, I grabbed a seat at the whiskey bar and had three drams of whiskey and a nice chat with the bartender who made the excellent recommendations and was apparently very knowlegeable about whiskey. All in all, a pleasant evening. Strongly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Killarney. read more

I know the go to in this country is usually to drink some beer but your boy loves a good cocktail. If Killarney couldn't be more cooler than it already is, it decided "Yea. And we got a fancy cocktail bar too." If I lived her I definitely would be coming here pretty often. Not only was the interior classy but the people working were super fun and chill. I think it was a nice change of pace because we just had came from Dublin the previous day and we were ready to explore a different town that had more small town vibes since that's the kind of town we live in America. The interior kinda reminded me of the Bay Area in a way. One moment we were in Killarney but the next minute we were in a whole different world. A world of tasty and complex cocktails. In any case the drinks were so good that I didn't remember the names of what I ordered but I'm glad in a way. They don't skimp on the alcohol. This place has such a great vibe. Lots of whiskeys and beer selection. We only came here for drinks but the food looked good and the service was wonderful. We came here in the afternoon when it wasn't too crowded, they server was so nice to take my kid's strollers to the back and was very tentative on our party of 6. We noticed that the place was filling up and since we were drinking only, we are occupying space for them to seat other guests. While visiting Ireland I found this whiskey bar on yelp in Killarney that had great reviews. The reviews were spot on, this place was fabulous. My husband is the whiskey drinker so this stop was definitely for him, but they don't just have whiskey so don't let that stop you from going if you don't drink whiskey. I actually ordered an Irish coffee and it tasted amazing. They have an extensive menu of drinks to include different level flights of whiskey tasting. Aaron, the bartender, was so knowledgeable in explaining the different types of whiskey that I found myself enjoying the lesson on whiskey making. They also serve food, but since we ate before stopping by I can't give you a review on that. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We went for a whiskey and chocolate tasting at this amazing bar in the heart of Killarney. A different chocolate was paired with a unique whiskey, and the flavor of the whiskey was enhanced by each chocolate bite! Travelled to Killarney from Scranton, PA, USA. My husband is a scotch drinker and had the whiskey flight (Ireland vs Scotland) and I did the gin flight. Both where awesome. Whiskey menu is indescribable and amazing. Same with the gun selections. We shared a charcuterie board to start, which was excellent. Husband had chicken supreme which was also delicious. I won the night with the venison dinner. It was OUTSTANDING. Finished with the choux bun. . Definitely a must visit place for whiskey and gin lovers. Dinner here was good. I had the venison and my wife had the chicken supreme, which were both nicely cooked and presented well. Service was fine and we were able to walk in on a Saturday evening. Absolutely lovely service, fantastic food and drink at this place. Unfortunately, I was the driver so couldn't take advantage of their cocktails which sounded lovely on the menu, but my mocktail was tart, refreshing and minty + coconutty. My starter was a light and refreshing St Tola's goat cheese, roasted beets, almonds and chives for €10.25. Each bite was perfection - this local goat cheese didn't smell/ taste too 'goaty' and each bite was sheer delight. For my main, I got the fish pie (local fish, leeks and white sauce) plus soda bread for €14.50. It arrived in an iron pan with a mound of beautiful seared mashed potatoes. Now, let me tell you, I'm not a fan of potato on my pie, but this place, the chef made it worked. It was a massive serving however so half was taken home and they wrapped it up really well! My total cost was just under €30 bucks and absolutely money well spent. Recommend. There's other things on the menu I want to try so def will try and return when coming back to Killarney. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Ireland and we're both whiskey fans. What a better place to visit? The whiskey selection is INCREDIBLE. I've seen few whiskey bars with the range they have. Food review: I got the chicken, leek and mushroom pie, it was to die for! The flavors were complex and all the elements were crispy when they needed to be and tender in the right places :) Service review: EH! I had to lead them, asking for water after my glass has been empty for 20 min, asking for condiments and check, etc. they seemed very disorganized. I sat at the bar and they were piling dirty dishes and food 12" away from me as if I didn't exist. There has to be a better way to do this instead of invading my space while I'm trying to enjoy my evening. Losing 1 star for disorganization. read more

On our expedition across Ireland, we spent one night in Killarney and it was a highlight of our trip. My husband and I came here to try something we haven't had before and we're met by Colum and Gary. Honestly, after a few days of lots of family time in a cramped car, a night to ourselves was music to our ears and we immediately set out to do some whiskey tasting, as my parents aren't big drinkers (I know.... the shock!). The place was a beautiful location and conveniently located next door to our hotel. We had a wonderful time being educated and entertained at the bar. Extensive list and knowledge- these guys know their stuff. When we were discussing what to purchase and how many, things turned a bit pushy and "salesman" forward, pressing some bottles with a higher price tag that we, after having a few drinks, probably considered longer than we should have. Ultimately, we took his card and offered to order through him later and he was very kind and generous to graciously accept that offer. A wonderful experience in a very nice place - we hope to cross paths with either Gary or Colum in NY sometime soon and return the hospitality! read more
