Just an overall "Okay" experience. I wish I could sing this place's praises, but I really just didn't feel it here compared to other places in the area. Service was very good, food was decent, it just didn't hit the spot for me when it came to atmosphere. It was like eating in a hospital cafeteria with much less activity.

Short review - right to the point. Didn't have food, but had drinks. Prices on par with other places in the area. Service was great and the pub wasn't overly crowded like some can be. Live traditional Irish music - very entertaining and fun! And they encourage song requests. Sorry I can't provide more, but that's all we did; imbibe and enjoy the tunes. In fact, come to think of it, I did a LOT of that in Ireland!

Wanted to hear some live traditional Irish music and this place was recommended by our hotel. Live music started at 9pm, our group of four arrived at 8:30pm and we lucked out getting a table right in front by the stage. The service was one of the best in Ireland! As soon as we sat down we were greeted and placed a drink order. Jameson and ginger all around. Our drinks never got empty.... the server was always checking in and getting us another round. He earned a well deserved tip. The live music was entertaining, lots of traditional songs and audience participation. The performers asked questions to the audience, who was their celebrating birthdays and anniversaries ( then would do a song) They asked if anyone was from the US, a few of us raised our hands... they then asked us where. I was the only one from NY, they sang Irish Rover and dedicated it to me. It was just a fun night of music and cold drinks!

We had so much fun at the Danny Mann! We had been hoping to listen to some Irish music but as most pubs offer it late in the evening and children are not allowed in pubs after 9, we hadn't had the chance to partake. Since this was a restaurant AND a pub that law didn't apply. (We asked to be sure) We would have been happy with average food, but we're pleasantly surprised by how delicious our meals were! We got the cottage pie which was the best we've had in Ireland. The seafood chowder was also tasty (but a bit thinner than I prefer) and even the sausage and fries kid meal my daughter got was outstanding. They added some blackcurrent cordial syrup to her water (nonalcholic) which she loved. I enjoyed my Orchard thieves cider and my husband started with Guinness and then moved on to some other local crafts. We went about 8pm for dinner and then stayed for the music at 9pm. Get here early as it fills up

Large crowd on a Friday night in September

My daughter and I arrived about 6 pm on a Friday night...the place was about 1/2 full. Took staff a bit to seat us, and from then on they seemed very harried, ie short of staff. Noticed the wait staff had to do everything...including bussing their own tables, mixing up Irish coffee drinks, etc. That said, the place filled up fast and we enjoyed the antics and friendliness on a few young guys there for a stag party. My daughter had the vegetable lasagne and I had the Guiness Beef stew. Both were delicious. The two entrees, 1 starter and 1 beer came in at around 40 euros.

Superb food, good company, talented entertainment! Traveling through Killarney and ended up staying at Eviston House Hotel and it was recommended to eat here and there would be entertainment at 9PM. At first we didnt know if we could take a table, but was quickly discovered and taken to a table in which, we quickly got our drinks ordered (1 coke and 1 Fuzzy Leprechaun...oh Lord, I know!) Then everything looked so delicious, but finally decided on the guinness meat casserole and my son got the burger, and we were amazed! The food was so good, I tried stuffing myself even though I was done! The entertainment was excellent the night we came with families pouring in continuously until we left, and singing along and just the atmosphere was so inviting, this was exactly what I was looking for on this trip! The men are so gentlemen like and all look straight out of GQ, it was an experience I will never forget.

Probably the best Irish food I've had in Ireland. I shared the lamb burger and the lamb stew with a friend and it was seriously amazing. I met the manager Mark and he was super friendly and hospitable. I would absolutely recommend eating authentic Irish food and beer here; you will not be disappointed!!!

The pie of the day, not on the menu, was steak and kidney, which I had to try "for research purposes". The pastry crust extended to the sides and bottom so it fully enclosed the filling and was served "freestanding". Crust and gravy were excellent. In the filling, both the steak and the kidneys were plentiful. My research completed, I probably wouldn't order it again; just give me the steak - no more kidneys please! Nevertheless I did enjoy and finished it. This was served with decent fries and a truly excellent green salad: a variety of leafy greens, radishes, cucumbers, pickled onions, and pre-dressed with a vinaigrette. The wife had the Beef & Guinness Casserole, served with brown bread. Along with steak there were also plentiful veggies (root vegetables and celery) and mashed potatoes in the center. She liked it. I tried it and agreed. I would get that next time. I had a Jameson Old Fashioned to drink and it was the best Old Fashioned I've had in some time. The unusually large twisted orange peel probably contributed and it may have had more than the customary amount of bitters. The wife's tea was amusingly served with a knitted "cozy" keeping the teapot hot. For dessert we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, served with vanilla ice cream, attractively presented with a dusting of sugar, whipped cream, and a ground cherry complete with its leaves. I'd rate it second among the three I've tried so far. Would certainly order it again. As for the pub I can't say. It has a reputation for good traditional Irish music every night but unfortunately not until 9:30, way too late for us. Sadly we're just not pub people.

Music starts at 9pm. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had fish and chips, the stuffed chicken and sticky toffee pudding. Washed it all down with a couple of Guinness and a Red Spot whiskey! It was a lovely meal.

The space is good sized and features several dining areas and a decent sized bar. Decor and overall vibe is your classic Irish pub with lots of dark woods, soft lighting and grandiose fixtures and dividers. We initially bellied up the bar to grab a pint and cocktail while we waited for our table to be ready. After about 20 minutes, the staff came and whisked us away to a small table just off the main entrance. The table was not that comfortable, but they are doing everything they can with every inch of space they have, and we were just happy to be there! While bellied up to the bar, we enjoyed a pint of Guinness and the Apple & Honey cocktail. The Guinness was perfection, and the cocktail was tasty. The food menu has all the classics from toasties to stew and even fish and chips. We started our meal with the trio of croquettes. They were okay and plating was a bit odd as the salad and veggies that accompanied the croquettes were more visible and focus than the actual croquettes. While the trio was all different, the taste profiles were very similar for each one. For our mains, we both went with sandwiches. I got the Prime Sirloin Steak and my partner got the Ham, Cheese and Tayto. Steak was well cooked, bread was a great vessel, however more sauce would have been welcomed. The toastie was classic, no frills and hit the spot. Service was okay. Not very efficient or helpful, but also not awful or unfriendly. Was odd enough to notice, but not bad enough to ruin the visit. Overall, a fair rating is 3.5 for O'Donoghues. Given no half stars, they get the fourth. It is a good location and is just okay. We wouldn't go out of our way to visit again, but also wouldn't go out of our way to avoid.

We stood in what was a service area, the bartender asked us to move very politely. We tried to find a place to stand out of the way, the bartender came out from behind the bar to bring a stool for us. That was so sweet, just then the host found us the take us to our table. We very much appreciated the effort made by the bartender. Loved the drinks, btw. We sat down and looked over the menu. Decided on the burger and soup and sandwich combo. The burger was really good, made with Irish Hereford beef. It was so beautiful on the plate and tasted great. I got the soup abd sandwich of the day. It was a carrot soup (carrot and something else, I can't recall) and a toasty of ham and cheese with Tayto chips. Both the soup and sandwich hit the spot. It was a beautiful pub, lots of cute areas, I even saw an armored suit when I went to the bathroom. I found the menu prices very reasonable. 9.50 euro for soup, sandwich and chips (crisps).

Cronins sits on a Main Street through Killarney and feels like old world Ireland from the road to the table. It has a storied past in Killarney, being open over 60 years at this point. The space is as you would expect, cozy, local and welcoming. The menu is rooted in local ingredients including seafood, beef and veggies. We popped in for an early dinner and had an appetizer of the Smoked Irish Salmon, which was fresher than expected. Such a simple dish, but it was executed perfectly. For our mains, we had a burger and the Shepard's Pie. Burger was good. It was juicy, well cooked and the onion relish thing they had going on was *chefs kiss*. The Shepard's Pie was spot on. Both were made with local beef, which was cool and extra tasty! Beyond the food, Cronins also has their own cider, which was phenomenal and oddly enough, the only cider I had the whole time I was in Ireland! That speaks more to the hold Guinness had on me and less to the variety of cider. After the cider, we went with a few house cocktails including the Clover Club and Dingle Donkey. Both were well prepared, vibrant and tasty! Service was uniquely local, friendly and fun! From the bartender to our server, they were both excellent! Overall, Cronins is a stellar spot in a great spot in Killarney! When we get back over the pond and to Killarney, Cronins is on the list to swing by again!
