Not sure what the average price is for screen repair but I paid 50, which is fair to me considering my phone was a shattered piece of glass that I was afraid to put my finger on, let alone my face.

The staff member who "helped" me (pictured here) was rude, dismissive, and arrogant from the moment I walked in. He acted like answering basic questions about my repair was a burden, rolled his eyes when I asked for details, and clearly had no deep knowledge of hardware repair. Their diagnostics were inconsistent and suspicious. When I dropped off my device, they said there was no water damage. Later, after they failed to fix it, they suddenly claimed there was water damage -- contradicting their own report. This is a common scam tactic to avoid taking responsibility for failed repairs. To make matters worse, they use cheap, non-OEM parts that aren't fully compatible with your device. After their so-called "repair," my MacBook had issues it never had before like poor touch response on the trackpad and keyboard keys being loose. When I pointed this out, the employee blamed me instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. This place fails in every way that matters -- no professionalism, no accountability, no quality parts, and no real expertise. If you value your time, money, and devices, go to a reputable repair shop or an authorized service center. uBreakiFix in Oak Lawn is the last place you should trust.

I was told the diagnosis would take 24-48 hours. It took about a week. I paid $90 upfront for the diagnostic. I was later quoted $200 to replace the processor chip. I decided not to proceed with the repair and went to pick up my equipment. When I arrived, I was first told it was fixed. Then I was told it was not fixed but that a bad capacitor had been identified and it could be repaired in two hours. I agreed to wait, but then I was told they were going to lunch for a couple of hours. I returned the next day. The next day, the door was locked. I called and was told they were closed. When I asked to pick up my property, the owner became hostile and threatened to call the police. I was told to return the following week. When I went back at 11:30 a.m., I was told there was an issue at the shop and that I would need to meet at another storefront in Hyde Park. I was told to come at 1:30 p.m., then it was changed to 2:30 p.m. I refused the change, and eventually received the address to retrieve my equipment. In the end, nothing was repaired. I was also told they did not have the programmer required and that it would cost $200 for one. I later purchased the same programmer new on eBay for $35 and a replacement chip for $44. The communication was inconsistent, timelines were not honored, and picking up my own property became unnecessarily difficult. Based on this experience, I would not return.

What was predicted to be an 3day repair turned into over 3 weeks due to mistakes, missed deliveries and missteps. After repairing he lied about part delays but later admitted to his staff re-cracking the device . Only after lying about it being delivered broken. He also missed the 3 attempts to delivering when he wasn't open during his business hours. He then completely disassembled my device for an external issue. Only to have my device not turn on after he finally called me to pick up after 3 delays and extensions. He never apologized, never took accountability never fixed the problem. In fact he made it worse. I left with additional issues. Bad decision. Bad business. Bad experience.

I received a text at 6:04 p.m. confirming I was checked in. The only time I was spoken to was when I first walked in and was told to check in. After that, I waited an hour if not more with no acknowledgment or updates. At the beginning, there were three employees on the floor, including someone I believe was the manager. During my wait, one employee left for the day, and two additional employees returned from I assume their break. Shortly after, those two employees went to the back with the believed manager for about 20 minutes, leaving only one employee to assist customers. It is unprofessional to leave one employee on the floor while multiple customers are waiting and three employees are in the back. I was not helped until around 7:00 p.m. or later, only to be told the phone I wanted was out of stock and would need to be ordered. This is not an inventory issue it is a lack of professionalism and communication. If customers are asked the reason for their visit at check-in, there should be protocols to manage wait times and expectations. A simple update would have save me time and the employee time. I have never experienced this at any location ,and my family and I have been AT&T customers since the Cingular days. So, this experience was very disappointing. The staff did seem friendly but the overall customer service and communication was subpar.
