I love the ambiance here - cozy, charming, unpretentious - their fig jam is great with any cheese, the only negative is that some of the dishes are either tiny or missing a signature flavor. Otherwise, service is amazing, interesting wine choices and lovely staff. read more

My girlfriends and I are HUGE fans of the Cellar Door. We've been here many times in the last couple of years and love coming here on Tuesdays. Reason being is that Tuesdays used to be "ladies night" and everyone would get a small charcuterie plate after your first flight.... AND vendors set up a small table to sell fabulous items that ladies love! Removing "ladies night" from their event calendar hasn't stopped us from getting together here because they offer $ 15.00 flight specials on Wednesdays! I've had a bite of almost everything featured on their menu but certainly have favorites which are the chorizo stuffed dates and the red wine onion & prosciutto flat bread. Oh, and you can't go wrong with their different cheese and charcuterie boards! As far as flights go.... I usually go with the bubbles. Found his gem of a place today. It's really quaint and nicely set up. They had just opened so there was literally no one inside. After being seated, we ordered the Ruben sliders, fondue plate, seasonal salad, flat bread and salted caramel. I must say, the sliders were probably one of the best sliders I have tasted. I also had a taste of the fondue, flat bread, and seasonal salad, which was also very good. Surprisingly, the servings were actually filling so there were plenty to share with everyone. Though I didn't have wine, I did order the 805 Blonde Ale, which is one of my favorite beers. If you're looking for a place with great food and atmosphere, come to this place. We stopped by after our bridal shower tea and highly recommend this spacious beautifully decorated wine bar! Great service, extensive wine list and the gentleman helping us was wonderful! We wanted a rose that was a bit sweeter and he gave us a few recommendations and let us taste a splash prior to getting a bottle. On a hot Sunday afternoon looking for a cold beverage I stumbled on this place as it was next door the the famous ice cream shop. Had some flights of wine which were ok but what made this shop was the customer service and atmosphere hence the 5 stars. Great people and delicious treats but the wine selection was mediocre, not a vast majority of wines but everyone's paletteis different so, some people may love them others may not. It's a great space to come hang out inside or on the outside patio come by on the weekend to enjoy some live music. This is my Summer Cellar Door review-- a full star lower than Winter at Cellar Door. Winter is cozy. Comfy seats, great lighting, and of course, a fireplace. The snacks are perfect for sitting around a fire with friends, drinking wine . 4 stars The service inside is never bad. But, it's a small place, so getting a server's attention is ridiculously easy. So, I can't honestly say whether the staff is attentive by training or by virtue of the fact that they can't really ignore you in such a small space Outside is an entirely different story. Service is slow. When our server finally did come to check on us, she got about half of our order right, each time. "Oh did I forget your water?" Etc But, ultimately CD loses at least one star for the expensive-and-inconsistent "full glass " pours. On round one, we paid $14 for a really small half-ish glass of wine. Unfortunately, we drank exhibit a, while waiting for our server to check in on us. So, we asked when 3 of us were ready 2nd second glass, and were told that the correct pour results in the wine touching the bottom of the word "door" on the glass. Not only was that a half inch off for our first glasses, but, our second showed that there was no consistency. This time, we took a picture, just to prove to ourselves that we were not crazy. The hubby and I have wanted to check out this spot for a while, and we had our chance yesterday for a random day date. It didn't disappoint. Vibe: Cozy with some great seating options. Music was a great variety of 70s rock and Motown. I grew up with basically every song they played, so bonus points for me on that. Fleet wood Mac, Stevie, Simon & Garfunkel... Service: awesome. Super welcoming and it's the kind of place where they remember names and faces. Drinks: ordered their happy hour Rose and hubby had one of their special whiskey cocktails. Both were tasty. They have a full bar, which was surprising to me since I thought it was a wine tasting spot. Can't wait to come back and try some food! read more

I can see why this place got such great reviews. I'd definitely come back! The noise was loud inside bc of the live band - but hey, it was good music so I cannot complain. It's small and intimate inside. My favorite parts: wine flights (think of 3 goblets of wine to let you taste everything for $20) YES PLEASE! and the fact that they have blankets for outdoor areas to keep toasty! WOW! This place was made for me :). Our server was very sweet, and even the lady who helped us later on was very kind. It was a very laid back atmosphere. What a nice spot to sip on some wine and spend time with good company. Great location (right next to Meadowlark Creamery! :D YESSS). I am writing this as I'm sitting at their bar and this place has a very nice and friendly atmosphere. I love the decor and so far the staff has been amazing! They also have a live band playing right now (something that I've been looking for in the area!). Overall, I think that the Cellar Door is a gem. Another wonderful weekend afternoon spent at Cellar Door! I was surprised they had plenty of outdoor seating that's covered on a warm day. This was my third visit, the first time I was invited by a friend for a weekday networking event in the evening, and I was blown away by the beverage selection and quality of the tasty appetizers. Most recently we had the beef empanadas, and pear cambozola and fig jam flatbread and crab cakes. All were amazing per usual. I've also coordinated and help coordinate (pre-COVID) another MeetUp and networking event here, as the space inside and the table at the back in the interior is wonderful for large gatherings. I was surprised to also see a bridal shower or baby shower be reserved here as well in the past, as the decor, vibe and venue itself is super cute and cozy. Also versatile, perfect for a date, afternoon hang out or just to grab a drink or wine. I love the sign outside that says you don't have to choose whiskey or wine, they have both here. That's when I knew this was a hidden gem and one of my favorite spots. Glad to have met the owner Terri, she's a wonderful host and if you need to book a future event here that's who to contact. Didnt even know this wine bar was here around the block from main street. Had their costal flight for $17 and some flatbreads, mushroom one and the prochutti one. I liked the meat one better. Kinda expensive. They have a small gas fireplace in the corner. I guess they cant have a real wood fireplace because of the spair the air days. Too bad because nothing beats a real fire. Kinda nice to have a wine bar to hang out at. read more

I absolutely fell in love with this place! The staff was very friendly and inviting. My friend and I had drove from Concord to get some ice cream from next door and happen to see this place. We ordered two glasses of wine and had complementary cheese and crackers since it was ladies night. We were indecisive on what to order and the nice lady who took our order pretty much chose everything for us. The wine was delicious and the cheese was amazing! I wish I remembered what we had but unfortunately I don't. It was a fairly cheap ladies night. It has a nice warm in iron atmosphere. It's perfect for a date night or just a night out with friends. They have some creative decorations made from the wine corks and sparked an interest of hosting a wine/craft night for my friends! This is one of our favorite places in the East Bay. We've been devoted patrons here since they opened years ago, every experience is a fantastic one! We (my husband and I) love Terri (the owner) and her professional yet always friendly staff. They greet us like family, with hugs and the usual "how is the family?" We continually bring new friends and family members, and everyone has had fantastic experiences. I usually do wine Flights as I love the variety, whereas my husband usually picks one of his favorite red wines (Pinot or Zinfandel). It's very rare that I don't care for a wine (their selection is excellent), and they are always receptive to feedback on customer's preferences and impressions. Love their charcuterie platter (especially the Cambizola cheese - OMG), they always have GF options, and several great alternative dishes as well. Oh, and their dessert choices are DREAMY!! Live music is always excellent, with a variety of genres and artists. I can't say enough about how much we love and appreciate The Cellar Door and its extraordinary staff - we are devoted fans for life! Hope to see you there soon! read more

I came here for a live performance from the guy who was on American Idol in October 21st. It was amazing even though the place is small and compact, it's cozy and the live performance was great. I really wanted to like this place. To start with when we arrived we asked if we could take a table outside and were given menus. No one came back to take our order for 20 minutes. We had to go in to ask for someone to take our order. The server was a bit aggressive and not that concerned with our experience. The condition of the patio was not the best. Out table has bird crap on the table and chairs. Not all the tables have umbrellas and we were very hot. The food also did not meet expectations. We had crab cakes and they were mostly breading. Our fondue was just ok. Nothing special. The wine was good but was more expensive than I expected. Twenty dollars a glass for petite sirah is a bit much. Wont be back. read more

We had a large group and wanted a nice night out. The service at this place was horrible. Had to ask multiple times for water . Not came back once to leave a pitcher there for 8 people. Didn't bring enough napkins and utensils, when we asked for more we got 3 more napkins. One of our friends didn't get to order her drink since she came later and waiter gave her 1/3 cup of water. When she ordered her flat bread they were out if sausage. Then we had asked for separate checks and they gave us one check and added 20% tip to the terrible service. Love this place! I've been here a few times and always enjoy it. My latest visit was this Tuesday with a group of girlfriends. We got a nice little table in a window alcove, and enjoyed watching the setting sun. The staff here are always so friendly - very laid back and definitely knowledgable about the wines that they offer. If you're unsure where to start - you can tell them what you like and they'll recommend options that you'll genuinely enjoy (I've been to other wine bars where the staff seem to mysteriously suggest the most expensive options on the menu every time...hah!) The charcuterie board is delicious and they don't skimp on the goodies. This past Tuesday we also had the crab cakes, and two different flatbreads - and everything was wonderful. The waitress or lady server was so rude! Literally waited to be helped for 20 minutes just for a bottle of wine! Other parties came which was the same as there own kind and as for me the server ignored me! So, I let my other comrade to order but it's a shame how she treated and failed to provide a decent experience!!! This is a cute little hidden gem. Came here for date night & everything was great. From the atmosphere to the drinks & food. I got the whiskey sour because they didn't have anymore mint to make a whiskey smash ): to be honest, I'm a bartender and I know I should be more trusting but after a couple of horrible bartenders messing up my whiskey sours, I have been very hesitant when ordering so. I was also nervous because the bartender wasn't using any measuring jiggers but to my surprise, it came out wonderful & delicious. Our bartender was great but overheard it was his last day there ): my boyfriend loved his manhattan as well! One of the staff was rude. A friend Bought a bottle of wine And Gave us 1 glass unknowingly brought out of the bar. The staff came and grab the arm and and took the glass off her hand accusing her of stealing it. We made mistake by taking it out but she could have asked it in a nice way. I've been to this small, quaint bar multiple times of the years and have always had a great time. The atmosphere is homey, but stylish and not at all like a lot of the new industrial looking beer bars cropping up left and right. This place has character. They often have live music, usually 1 or 2 people and that makes it extra special. The drinks are well made and delicious. I love their appetizers and particularly recall some delicious jalapeño poppers among others. This review is long overdue. I have been coming here for about a year now. I have never had a bad wine or a bad dish here. I have gotten to know Terry (the owner) and she is as sweet as can be. The service has always been fantastic and one of their main servers (Robin) is always on top of things. The ambiance is fantastic and is easy going. Always great talking with new people every time I'm there. I am a picky Italian so I am very picky about my food and wine. Love this place and highly recommend....Good job girls.
