The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and helpful. I decided to tthe borek. It's a pastry that can be made either savory or sweet, I decided to have mine with. Spinach and cheese. I also ordered the baklava, and a little cup of the Turkish coffee (whoa!!). The Borek , I didn't look that big in the case spoiler alert, it was.... The dough was wonderfully flaky , and the filling was amazingly savory. I liked the spinach, and I'm not sure what type of cheese it was. But it played with the spinach perfectly it reminded me very much of a spanakopita, which I also love. The baklava was also excellent. It was perfectly flaky on the outside, and the honey, and the nuts inside were just fantastic. It is one of the better baklava that I have ever had. Now let's talk about the Turkish coffee. I've had Lebanese coffee, and I loved, and Ithought was strong.... the Turkish coffee makes Lebanese coffee taste like decaf that you would get from a cheap corner diner. With just a little bit of milk and sugar, it was perfect it was rich, and it was strong! At this point, I could probably make it to six hours to my destination without a car :). All of this great food, and I was only roughly out the door 20 bucks. For such high-quality food, it was worth it. I hope I'm back in Rochester again, because I would easily stop here again.

I came in for something simple and left fully committed to the experience. The Turkish coffee arrived in the most adorable cup, strong and velvety with that classic, unapologetic depth, paired with a soft, rose-kissed Turkish delight that made the whole thing feel like a ritual rather than just a caffeine stop. I took my time to enjoy every sip of it. And then the rice pudding. Served warm in a rustic clay bowl, topped generously with pistachios--it hit that perfect balance of creamy, lightly sweet, and comforting without being heavy. One of those desserts that sneaks up on you and suddenly you're scraping the bottom of the dish. The space itself is cozy and thoughtfully put together, and the people working there genuinely elevate it. Kind, welcoming, and happy to let you linger a bit, which feels increasingly rare. The first thing I noticed is how healthy and vibrant the plants look and to me that was the winning point. This is a great cozy spot for folks who don't enjoy social interactions and high energy vibes. It's more for the slow in the moment experience to sip and relax.

Tree Town Cafe is one that I wouldn't have found if I didn't see it on a list of Rochester coffee shops. I feel like this cafe is sort of a hidden gem. I've been here twice-- once in the summer for an evening dinner on the patio, and most recently for a cozy study session in the winter. It's open decently late (for a coffee shop in Rochester) on weekdays (7pm), which is perfect for studying. They have plenty of parking in their parking lot. Their outdoor seating is placed directly in front of their building with plenty of shade, or in the grassy area next to the parking lot. It seems to be a kid-friendly cafe as well, since they have play areas. They have a cute indoor shop with food-related gifts like baked goodies, coffee, chocolate bars, and even dog treats. The service was wonderful, and they were very willing to make a call to the baker to check my allergies. There's not a lot of indoor seating, but it was enough to find a spot to study. The space heater in the small room was essential, although it got a little cool next to the glass once it started to get dark. As I mentioned, they do have free WiFi.

Genuinely so happy this is so close to me (but dangerous for my wallet, as I have to resist the urge to come here everyday). The atmosphere is lovely and there's plenty of seating. During this visit, I ordered a hot pistachio latte, a small iced caramel latte with cold foam, and a slice of tiramisu. The presentation was beautiful, but the food and drinks didn't quite live up to the appearance. The iced caramel latte tasted a bit watery, which has been my experience on more than one visit, and the hot pistachio latte was just okay. The biggest disappointment was the tiramisu. It was overly soaked in coffee, didn't taste very fresh, and wasn't what I expected. One thing I really appreciated was the service. The cashier was incredibly kind and accommodating. Since I'm currently pregnant and can only have decaf coffee, she made sure my order was clearly communicated to the team, which I was very grateful for. The café itself is aesthetically beautiful, although we did have to wipe down our table because there were crumbs left from the previous guests. The seating is nice, but the chairs could be more comfortable if you plan to stay for an extended period. My only other suggestion would be to improve customer engagement at the register. On a few visits, it has felt like employees finished conversations with coworkers before helping customers. Overall, I enjoy coming to Layali because the ambiance is one of the best in Rochester. While I think the coffee and desserts could be more consistent, I'd still return to enjoy the atmosphere and give more of the menu a try.

The woman taking the order did not tell us how the system works - leaving us puzzling as we sat at the table. My sister went up after we waited awhile, & asked. It appears some items were ready & she was going to bring it to us after everything was ready. The food: I ordered the 3 pc chicken tenders with honey mustard dipping sauce & the "loaded" ( ) tater tots. The tenders were good - crispy, not greasy, tender, not dried out. The breading was slightly salty. I liked the dipping sauce. The tater tots came & the first 3 I tried were not even the slightest bit warm. I saw a few clumps of what I think was thin melted orange cheese with I guess thin bacon crumbles. The most off putting thing about the potatoes was an odd unpleasant taste which I attribute to whatever oil they were cooked or coated in. Whatever it was left a chemical kind of taste in my mouth. On a different note, while the decor is charming, the chairs are uncomfortable. Altogether it was a disappointing experience. My sister spoke to the manager, after we finished, and he offered a replacement for the potatoes but she declined. Since the order was paid for upfront, there wasn't an offer to comp for the distasteful food
