Wow! We've been a few times for breakfast, but recently met friends for dinner. They do except reservations, which is great to know and parking in the evening is very easy We had lovely service. The only drawback was we were the table closest to the door, and despite the heavy velvet drapes, it was a bit chilly. The food was fantastic starting with the sourdough bread from flower city baking company - delicious small plates, as well as full size entrées available. We loved the Caesar salad, calamari, cauliflower, appetizer, and burrata with Concord, grape jam

Buttery, lightly toasted croissant with egg, cheese, and bacon. A side of grape jam to both sandwiches.

Public Provisions 45 Public Market, Rochester, NY 14605 public-provisions.com Review by Kevin Beckford Public Provisions continues to impress with its great service, cozy ambiance, and seriously delicious food. Today, I tried two breakfast sandwiches--because sometimes one just isn't enough. First up was a buttery, lightly toasted croissant with egg, cheese, and bacon. The second was a flaky buttermilk biscuit, also toasted and buttered, filled with egg, cheese, and sausage. I added a side of grape jam to both sandwiches (trust me on this one), and the sweet-savory combo was spot on. I paired the meal with a glass of fresh orange juice, and it hit the spot. This has been my go-to place for breakfast sandwiches on the weekend, but today I decided to stop in during the week--and I'm glad I did. The weekday vibe is a little quieter, making it a great spot to get some work done. A few folks had their laptops open and AirPods in, attending Zoom calls. I was able to catch up on emails and correspondence without distraction. The service is consistently fast and friendly, and there's something about the food that makes you want to peek into the kitchen to see if your mom is back there cooking up your childhood favorites. Public Provisions is more than just a breakfast stop--it's a comfort food haven with a modern, relaxed vibe. Highly recommend.

I don't t like writing reviews like this, but here we are. I always appreciate when a restaurant wants to spread its wings and try new dishes. Sometimes it's a hit, and sometimes like this time it's a miss. I came for the Lunar New Year menu, planning to order a few dishes and take the leftovers home. I went with the cucumber salad, ramen, and Korean short ribs with rice. Since the weather was a bit dicey, I decided to stay local. First, I have to say the staff was lovely and clearly knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't deliver. Every dish was just meh "lacking that deep, satisfying umami. I ate what I could because I was hungry, but the short rib and the pork in the ramen were so tough that even cutting them with a fork and knife was a struggle. And then came the endless chewing I don't want to fight with my food. The cucumber salad had a nice concept with the mix of sour, hot, and cold, but it still fell flat. The ramen was okay, but again, no umami. The short ribs? Same issue. Portion-wise, what I ordered could have easily fed two people, so no complaints there. But despite bringing home leftovers, I'm not sure I even want to eat them and who doesn't like leftovers? I give them props for trying something new, but I hope they refine their culinary voice. If you're re going to experiment, make sure it's a hit, not a miss. That's all I've got. I took some photos of the menu and food.

The Public Provisions restaurant served us a beautiful meal that was appealing to the palate and eye. We ordered OF Martini which was comprised of Haku Japanese Vodka, Cointreau, passion fruit, vanilla and lime. Which was served with a sampling of Prosecco! This cocktail was so flavorful, smooth and exceptional. For dinner I ordered the Soring Pea Ravioli, which was delicious. My husband ordered the Scallop dish which were perfectly prepared with spring onion and with a perfect sear and fabulous taste. I also ordered the Broken Burrata which could have been a light dinner by itself. It was perfectly prepared asparagus spears, frisée , with lemon ..... oh my ....be still My heart .....we experienced one delicious delicacy after another ! My husband also ordered the calamari which were tender, lightly breaded and served with a tantalizing sauce. He was in heaven. Although this is a modest restaurant in the Rochester Public Market one wouldn't expect the range of professionalism in this fine establishment. Five Stars across the board! We will be back for Sunday Brunch, breakfast on Saturday's and or dinner! Don't miss this hidden jewel!! Hats off to staff , chef and all who helped make this a fine dining experience in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Cheers!!

Didn't disappoint at all. You don't have to be fancy and pretentious to make food and cocktails well. Public Provisions is that place that just does it right. Bartender knowledgeable and incredible cocktails. For food we did the Watermelon Tomato Salad, it's a must try. Chickpeas with Yogurt is cravable. The corn ravioli were yummy, not what you would expect. And the vegetarian bowl was amazing. I highly recommend. Its at the Public Market. My only negative is their website. Its horrible and confusing.

In a beautiful plaza with yummy food! Paella was so flavorful and filling. Came here for brunch and their coffee is delicious! Big portions for a great price! A lot of seating inside and very accessible to all! Staff is wonderful and checked in frequently. Right across from a farmers market, where you can go and support a plethora of vendors. A must go if you're visiting Rochester!

We got a Valentine's day dinner reservation at this restaurant because I absolutely love their calamari, but they had a pre fix menu tonight, but not to worry! It was absolutely fabulous, this restaurant is a hidden gem,it's ever crowded and the food is amazing!we started with cocktails, I got the Strawberry Choco Margarita which was accented with a chocolate covered strawberry. While waiting to order the server gave us these crackers with a smoked cheese and diced beets which was wonderful. This was followed by the first course, I ordered the chickpea pita starter and my partner ordered the wedge, both were fresh and delicious. The second course was the potato tart, finishing the third course with entrees, paella and beef. The dessert was a chocolate roll cake with raspberry sorbet. The menu lists a mousse but this was not a mousse, so that was the only negative! But guess what they gave us valentines shortbread cookies to take home! Who does that! This place is amazing!

"You shall have camels, horses, an armed escort, provisions, desert vehicles and tanks." The public market. Early a-morn on a weekday, it's slightly abandoned, slightly just a-wake. But go on a market day, and you'll hear a cacophony of clamourings about food, market things, and other things that are sold at and talked about at a market: "Good day, mais oui You call this bacon? What lovely grapes Some cheese, ten yards One pound, 'scuse me I'll get the knife Please let me through This bread, those fish It's stale, they smell Madame's mistaken Well, maybe so" Public Provisions is situated within one of the side buildings, next door to Cure/Flour City Bakery (with which it has a business relationship). The interior is well-apportioned for those market days. Come on a quiet weekday morn, and it's a-quiet, though. Come on a market day, and it's a-bustlin' There's a coffee menu for coffee, and a food menu for food. The breakfast menu is quick and to the point. It speaks to you. And what it is saying is: "Get a breakfast sandwich, dummy." The Red Eye was a welcome dose of caffeine in a sophisticated flavor delivery system. Enough complexity to provide wonder while not overloading your taste buds. It also has the added benefit of waking you up! The iced coffee was delicious as well. One of the owners tells us that they splurged a little and got beans from the Pacific Northwest. Not only that, but the PacificNorthwestCoffeeFolk came to Public Provisions and trained the employees on all of the specialized coffeemaking equipment! You can detect this in the flavor. It's coffee, just... better. The breakfast sandwich can be gotten with bacon or with sausage. Either is recommended. The breakfast sandwich can be gotten with croissant or biscuit. Either is recommended, although the croissant is sort of the specialty of the baker who baked them! The sandwich had an adult taste with an undercurrent of recreation. Simple. Elegant. Savory. Definitely a through-line of local, fresh ingredients. Again: it's a breakfast sandwich, just... better. There are options aplenty for the other meals of the day, and we are told that rooftop seating will be arriving in spring of 2024. Don't Miss: Dude, have you even been paying attention? The breakfast sandwich! Pro tip: Go next door to Flour City Bakery to get some chocolate croissants (or some other croissant) when you're done eatin'!

The expansion was much needed, as I had some crowded previous experiences and found this to be one of the downsides of the location. The expansion has truly helped the shop to reach its full potential. The demand was clearly visible as I stopped in around 8:30 pm on a Wednesday night and found it was quite busy, with patrons coming and going. I ordered a strawberry refresher and found a cozy reading spot. The barista who took my order was so sweet. I really enjoyed her kind personality. As always the dessert case was filled with appetizing treats, though I did not indulge during this visit, I love getting a look at them. They are always pretty. So happy to see Albunn doing well, as it as a great addition to East avenue. The shop has great hours (love being able to get drinks in the evening) and seems to be enjoyed by the community.

I see it being a hit because us beautiful and location is great but no need to repeat visit. We had to order twice because they cashier didn't get our correct order, maybe a language issue or the noice level.

Vegan? Both? I said I was looking for some gluten free goodies but they didn't have to be vegan. I was referred to a large shelf with tons of tasty treats. Cupcakes, large slices of cake, macaroons, and NY Bills shaped cookies. I picked out a gluten free cupcake for myself and one for mom. I had the orange cranberry cupcake and mom got strawberry champagne. My cupcake was a little dry, which I have found to be typical of gluten free batters. The frosting made up for it. The orange cranberry flavors blended together perfectly. Mom's cupcake tasted like it had champagne in the cake itself, not necessarily just in the frosting. It was a better-textured batter than the orange cranberry.
