Man what a fantastic little place we just loved it! My wife found this place on accident on a walk and we had to visit. First impressions just loved the feel art deco with paintings and eclectic decorations everywhere. Absolutely love the vibe soft music playing plenty of sitting and work space. Great coffee pasteries and soup and sandwiches available. I tried the turkey and green with Chipotle sauce on the side my wife got the three cheese. And then the soup Omg! Their tomato basil soup was awesome so good and peppery I loved it had to finish every drop! Their lattee was fantastic as well! Loved the visit would absolutely be back. Pricing was good and staff was very friendly and helpful. Street parking available nearby and lots and garages as well.

First time at Javas! Why haven't I been here before?!! Delicious cold brew with a shot of coconut, and Italian maple soda with two fresh baked cookies is the way to start a great day. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Ideal for a casual coffee date or a solo work session. Service was friendly and efficient.

Worked a nearby festival and was in desperate need of a Java upload. Stopped in and was surprised at how cool the ambiance is, there's this inviting hipster caffeine fueled vibe. Ordering was fast and accurate even with a long line. I went with an iced caramel macchiato. It was a delicious cool refreshing much needed beverage. It was so good I came back a few more times over the next few days, also trying their chocolate espresso cake.... Mmmmm They have multiple drinks to choose from, from coffee, teas, espresso and juices. The same goes for their bakery and pastries section. Located on Gibbs street, street was closed for the festival making it super easy to access otherwise parking might be challenging.

Large assortment of pastries - both sweet and savory - for breakfast at the cafe, be sure to come early enough before they run out! Spinach and feta croissant was good, got it warmed, just didn't taste the spinach as much. Toasted and yummy.

Absolutely loved this coffee shop as soon as I walked in, the decor and location seems perfect! They also sell sandwiches as well! This place can easily get packed out the door but the staff and service are really friendly but also on top of their game that it would die down quick. Lots of things on their menu so if you get the chance please look at it! Tried their cannoli and blueberry scone. Cannoli was too sweet for me but it's really good. Really loved the blueberry scone, it's huge and also tasty. Recommend coming here for lunch and getting their sandwiches and/or salad! Overall great choice here!

I absolutely enjoyed the cafe environment and would love to return and make this a regular for me. I cannot wait to try most of Java's Cafe menu and find my new favorite drink. The staff is friendly and kind--ready to serve, though you would have to wait in line, but it is worth it.

My friends who go to RIT rave about this place and I finally had to stop here with them before they graduated. Fast friendly service. They had a buy 1 get one promo for graduates when we went. I love a good study spot - would definitely be here more often if I lived here. I understand why it is so hyped up, will be back for sure.

Great spot for chill vibes or studying. The drinks were good, a unique specialty menu. I got the Gold Star and thought the ingredients sounded funny but tasted pretty good. The baristas were also really nice and fast. The only complaint is that the counter is really close to the door, which limits the line.

Every coffeeshop I go to, I compare to this place, because it's just that good. And after two years of traveling through Northeastern USA and parts of Europe, I can confidently say no other place compares. The coffee is AMAZING, the espresso is just the right balance of sweet and bitter. I have not tried many of their non-espresso drinks but their Turmeric Golden Latte and Aztec Mocha are pretty good. Baristas are super sweet. THE SANDWHICHES. ARE SO GOOD. But they only have them 11-3 from Monday-Saturday and tend to run out! The spinach feta/leek parmesan croissant pastries are also excellent. As for the vibes, it's a bit chaotic, but in the best way. I love to come here and study as well as catch up with a friend. Not that many places where you can do both! If you are anywhere near Rochester, come to this Javas location, it does not disappoint.

Growing up in Rochester, I don't have a lot of nice things to say about most of the establishments. But Javas? Never misses. Impeccable vibes. Aura of the baristas is unbeatable. Coffee quality is unmatched. Love you guys 4L.

I always like to look for espresso specials and we were not disappointed by the selection. My fiance got The Snug with maple syrup and molasses bitters. I was too afraid to try any drinks with bitters (I hate how it tastes in cocktails) but I took a sip of The Snug and it tasted great, I would definitely try that next time. I had the B.B.L. latte which had banana syrup, it was more on the sweet side but not overly sweet (I would avoid it if you don't enjoy a sweet palate, try a latte with bitters instead!) It was something unique to try and I was happy with my choice. There was also plenty of seating which is always a huge plus in the winter in Rochester. We had no trouble getting a table. I should also note that there was a very limited food selection here -- about 3 baked goods offered. So if you're looking for food and coffee, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Overall I would happily try out Ugly Duck again! I'm curious if they have outdoor seating in the warmer months.

To counteract the limited seating, there isn't any wifi. While I can respect this decision, it is unfortunate that I was looking for a place to do work while sipping on coffee. I got the seasonal BBL (I'm assuming Banana bread latte). The latte itself is quite strongly brewed, and the drink was very banana-forward. There is a slight hint of acidity, but i didn't mind it too much. If I'm every in the area, I think it would be more prudent to grab something to go, but I do think it's worth visiting for the coffee and the vibes!

The expansion was much needed, as I had some crowded previous experiences and found this to be one of the downsides of the location. The expansion has truly helped the shop to reach its full potential. The demand was clearly visible as I stopped in around 8:30 pm on a Wednesday night and found it was quite busy, with patrons coming and going. I ordered a strawberry refresher and found a cozy reading spot. The barista who took my order was so sweet. I really enjoyed her kind personality. As always the dessert case was filled with appetizing treats, though I did not indulge during this visit, I love getting a look at them. They are always pretty. So happy to see Albunn doing well, as it as a great addition to East avenue. The shop has great hours (love being able to get drinks in the evening) and seems to be enjoyed by the community.
