Cran-cha (cranberries and matcha) drink from Clownboy Coffee in Rochester, NY
    Austin R.

I really enjoyed my experience at Clownboy and admire them for being queer/trans-owned as well as fully VEGAN which makes them the only all-vegan coffee shop in the Rochester area to my knowledge. The only things I didn't love about my experience were the size of the space (fairly small, only 6 seats) and my Cran-cha (cranberries and matcha) drink which was just not much to my taste personally (too much cranberries sinking to the bottom of the drink). However, there were other pluses like the charming interior decor, the bulletin board full of community news and promos, and the polite and considerate barista. Would recommend highly as a good place for ethical coffee consumption and good vibes. The location is on a nice part of Main Street and quite close to another favorite of mine, Alt Bar.

Clownboy Coffee is a great new coffee shop! I have been here twice in the last week, and both times have been great! Cowboy is such a cute little queer-owned coffee shop in the heart of Rochester. The inside is so cutely decorated but tiny, so you may have to take your coffee to-go. The first time I ordered the But I'm a Cheerleader which is their June special. This drink is sparkling water, lemonade, strawberry, and orange syrup. I loved this drink! It was so fun and fresh. The second time I ordered a Stramatcha with oat milk as they were out of almond milk. This drink is housemade strawberry syrup and iced matcha. This one was also pretty good, but I found it to be a little watered down. I think this may be the oat milk they are using for the drink. I would love to come back and try it again with almonds! Overall this is a great little cafe and I can't wait to come back and try more things!

I've been dying to try out Clownboy it opened! It's so nice to have a queer owned coffee shop in the heart of Rochester! You walk inside and the shop itself is bright and colorful, very different from today's Rochester weather. They have a fabulous menu and specials. I ordered the But I'm a Cheerleader which is their Pride special which donates $1 ROC LGBTQ together The staff here are super friendly and welcoming! Venmo to pay or use cash or card.

Love that there is a new coffee shop in the area. There is small parking lot in the back. Plenty of drink options. I ordered a peach matcha which was seasonal at the time. The matcha itself was delicious, but I didn't care for the peach texture. There is some seating inside but not the best place for working as it's limited.

Seems they were short staff. The girl at the front was busy preparing and customers had to wait until she was available to order. There is a small tablet on the side to order food as well, but people barely noticed it since there is no sign for it. Food took a while to be ready. And option for regular chicken on all meals were sold out. I ordered bibimbap with popcorn chicken, and turn out it was like frozen popcorn chicken and nothing special. And it is first time I saw bibimbap with lettuce. And the sauce was barely covered anything, not saying if I need to mix with rice. The tteokbokki was the only thing that decent. Desert is ok. I would go somewhere else if I want Korean food

If there's a food trend, you best bet I'll be jumping on it…read more Mochinut offers Korean corn dogs, boba beverages, and of course, mochi donuts. This time around, I only came to give the donuts a try. This location is really cute and fun, lots of seating! The service was quick and attentive as well. First the positive: I loved the texture of the donuts. Rice flour-based desserts have a chewier texture that I find really good, and the donuts here were no exception to that. They held up well over the two days after I bought them, which is a plus. Where they fell flat was, unfortunately, with the flavor. I got three different kinds (strawberry cheesecake, white chocolate raspberry, and taro), and they all tasted the same. Just vaguely sweet and sugary, which isn't a bad thing. I was just expecting a lot more in terms of flavor considering the price point. I might give Mochinut a shot again in the future for their donuts, but I definitely want to come back for a Korean corn dog and a boba tea. I think the concept here is really unique, and it's nice to have a different option for treats!

If you get a Korean corndog, make sure to get the sweet chili sauce to go with it, it is the best!

Both flavors were incredible: super creamy and rich. My friend got chocolate almond fudge, and that was just as good. Other than sweet treats, they also have coffees and teas on their menu, and a bunch of different dairy products. It feels cozy, local, and authentic - like everything is fresh or straight from the farm. It's actually part of a long-standing local farm operation, which makes the experience feel even more genuine. I also loved that they support other local businesses and sell products from them, it adds to that community feel. Overall, this place is more than just an ice cream stop, it's a whole experience. The tables are close so if you're trying to have a private conversation-you won't get it here. There is a variety of seating options. Comfy conversation chairs, a booth banquette with chairs on the other side, chairs and tables, and a bar top along the windows with outside eating for warm sunny days. The cups are a rich brown color with gold probably Arabic writing. The dessert case is filled with sumptuous fruit shaped mousse desserts. The coffee itself is beyond compare. There are boxed games. Things are delivered to your table on wooden trays. It's so elegant. I cannot say enough nice things. The staff is so friendly. I had a Nutella latte and a raspberry dessert. I asked which dessert was best, the lady at the register said the mango. Mango is not my thing but she said next best is raspberry. It's the perfect size. A hard crisp shell, creamy mousse and a perfect raspberry center. I also got a pistachio latte. Both were excellent.
