I'm surprised I've never given Sips a review before! Before living in Irondequoit I had been here plenty of times - for the food and for the lattes. I recently stopped in to work remotely for a while, and was reminded of how great this place was - it's one of the best coffee shops in Rochester. I ordered a latte and a Santa Fe Grilled Wrap with no sausage. All food is made to order - which is so much better than chain coffee shops. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. Wifi is limited to 30 minutes, but unlimited for Spectrum customers - you simply sign in with your Spectrum user name and password. I'm kicking myself for not frequenting this place more; I'm going to make a point to stop in more often.

Really was impressed today. I've lived in Irondequoit my whole life and finally I'm a coffee drinker ... so I order an iced caramel latte and the chicken Cesar wrap. That wrap was delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender and im still thinking about it hours later. My latte was also very good and definitely gave me the boost I needed... a little pricey in there but I think it's worth it and they are local.

Cold brew with sugar free chocolate and hazelnut syrups and cream. Very good.

When I student taught in Greece, Sips was my go-to coffee stop every morning. I had a few minutes before work today and stopped by. Being that it is 90+ degrees, only an ice cold cold brew would suffice. I wanted a little flavor today. But seeing as though I'm back on the Keto diet for the week I had to be careful. The cold brew is flavored with sugar free chocolate and hazelnut syrups as well as cream added. It is so good. The only negative for me would be the price point. This cost me just under $5. Not sure I can justify something like this daily, would have to go more just plain iced coffee but definitely worth it today! Side note, Sips baked goods are amazing. I've had them in the past. If you're looking for something sweet, you will not be disappointed. Check out Sips!

Sips has the very best hot chocolate. I had the small size which was delicious. They specialize in coffee and sale healthy sandwiches and snacks as well. My husband chose the hazel nut sugar free coffee. We will definitely visit again.

Besides coffee and snacks, there are other things for sale like stickers, mugs, cards, and jewelry. We did the pumpkin painting event and paid $12 which included 2 mini pumpkins, painting supplies, and time in the cat room. The cats get along amazingly well for how many are in there together (maybe 10?). There may be some hisses or swats between cats, but as a cat owner I'll tell you that is completely normal. We pet them in between our pumpkins drying. The cats come from two different rescue groups and all are up for adoption except for Michael, who is the owner's cat. This is a great place for animal lovers to support local rescues and play with cats.

If you've ever been to a cat cafe, the experience is universal: book your appointment in advance, arrive on time, and go in when you're told to. The Friendly Feline is new and as such, it was easy to book an appointment. Walk ins are possible, but I'd recommend an appointment just to make your life easier. My mom and I got there a few minutes early to check in, and once it was our time, we were given a timer that indicated where we were in our hour. Then we went inside! There were five cats in residence that day, and there is a list of guidelines on the wall (basically, don't piss off the cats and use common sense). We sat down with a few toys and a laser pointer and waited for the cats to come to us. Overall, the cats were friendly but happy to let you know when they were over it and ready to walk away. The hour floated by and in that time, we were visited by all of the cats, with one even hopping up on the couch. There were three of the five that I felt were extra friendly and those cats circled around for extra attention. We had a great time at the Friendly Feline and I'd absolutely go back, even though Greece isn't exactly next door. It's never a bad thing to have more cat cafes and that means more cats find their forever homes sooner than they might have without cafe patrons having a good time.

Upon walking in, we were given quite an uncomfortable stare down by what I assume was a handful of regulars to this joint. States continued throughout the meal. One waitress was working. She was very friendly, food came fast. She may or may not be familiar with what they have. I asked if their meat hot sauce contains onions, telling her that I am allergic, but it definitely had onions. The menu was simple and limited, which usually means excellent food. We both agreed that our meals were bland and lacked flavor. I had a breakfast garbage plate of some sort, which was home fries, eggs, cheddar, and their meat hot. It left a lot to be desired. I couldn't eat most of my dish, due to the onions, and I'm not the type to complain and raise a stink. She asked for runny eggs with hash browns. She wasn't impressed. We both later agreed that the hash browns and home fries tasted "off," maybe old potatoes? The prices were excellent, just the food...was lacking. I don't expect an all-star experience from a diner, but when you have a small menu, everything on it should be top-notch. There are a lot of diners in the area, so I doubt we will ever be back. The waitress was the highlight.

I'm ashamed and embarrassed to admit it's my first time there but it definitely will not be my last. I'm posting a ton of pictures just so you all can see what they offer. The scones were incredible as was my Americano which they gave me for free as a nurse. There's a board you can purchase a $4 cup of coffee for a service worker (Medical, police, fire fighter, teacher, etc.) which I thought was a wonderful idea and concept. To be gifted this by a stranger was a very unexpected and pleasant surprise. Julia was working and made us feel so at home. She remarked at how wonderful the owners are to work for and how much she is passionate about working there. Her coworker Pan said it was the greatest job ever. I loved all of the small gifts. Some of which Julia said she made are on the shelves as well as mystery books that are like blind dates for readers. I didn't get to eat off their menu other than the scones, but if the food is as good as the baked goods and coffee, then I can hardly wait to try it. My mother and I are already looking forward to making this a weekly visit. I'm also hoping that I can start replacing my order ahead at Starbucks with an order ahead coffee here! Suggestion: it would be great if there was an app to do that... Just a thought. Julia did say I could call ahead and so I'm thinking about that. I'm a big supporter of small businesses in my community. It would much rather give my money here than to the big chains. I hope this place is around for a very long time. The place was full when we got there and it was still full when we left so it looks like we're not the only ones who discovered this hidden gem. If you haven't been there yet, you need to go try it. You're gonna kick yourself for not coming sooner. Thank you Julia and Pan for the great service and hospitality. You two are as much about making it a great experience as anything else.
