It was Sunday just about lunchtime. I ordered the tiramisu coffee latte with espresso and the Portuguese Omelet Sandwich. The ambiance was amazing, with local artist, David Wentling playing some of the most beautiful, nostalgic music. His voice was was so calming, and his originals were fantastic as well. That food was too die for! I look forward to visiting sooner rather than later. I learned thru a mutual friend that the owner, who looked very familiar, was there as well sitting right across from me taking in a soccer match with friends on the big screen while David was on break. Five stars to everyone, friendly service, tasty food and such cool vibes! I long for warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor space as well.

Atmosphere and vibe was great. Lots of tables, cool decor, and music on the TV. Great customer…read moreservice with a smile. Latte and expresso was worth the value. The food was mediocre at best. The fig and pig flatbread was good (5/10), not great. It stated it had brisket; if it did it was far and few in between. The omlette sandwich was good (7/10). The star, the pastel de nata (10/10). The cinnamon roll was a cinnamon roll (6/10). Total bill: $45.00. Cost is that you pay. Value is what you get. For me the cost and value do not match here. Will I come back? Possibly, but probably not.

All of the others who didn't measure up." But take heart! All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. Next time you're asked about the best diners around, make sure Railway Station Diner is part of the pantheon.

We went to Locals Only for brunch/lunch after a wedding, meeting friends one last time before…read moreeveryone headed back to our own cities. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.

I ordered the blueberry French toast and my friend went for the apples and cream French toast, and ohhh baby, everything was made to perfection. We walked out full and happy. We ordered a couple of jumbo fried chicken wings, The Geechie, Waffles w. Strawberries & Cream, and Steak, Egg & Cheese sandwich. The wings were cooked perfectly, crispy and incredibly moist on the inside. We both thought these were a tad on the salty side, but overall great wings and well worth the $3.75/per wing price. The Geechie was a bit of a letdown. The 3 pieces of toast with cheese in between wasn't anything special, and the steak I found tough and even by "breakfast steak" standards, these tasted on the lower end quality. Also found this to be a tad on the saltier side. This rang in at $26 which was steep. The Waffles w. Strawberries & Cream were pretty standard. We enjoyed the topping more than the waffle itself as it tasted pretty plain with no distinguishable flavors. For the Steak, Egg & Cheese sandwich, the steak was also tough but everything else was fine. On a side note, we saw a sign for specials which one of them was for crab cakes. A single one sets you back $15, which I find very steep for a crab cake compared to how much fine dining restaurants would normally charge you for this item. Overall, not a bad experience. Clean restaurant, clean bathrooms, staff (woman who served us) was kind, but expensive for the quality. Not sure if we would return for breakfast as everything came close to $70 dollars.
