Listen, I don't need to write much here, because you either get it or you don't. Natural Oasis is simply amazing. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's even simple on the inside, but everyone I've introduced to this place has been floored. It's one of my all time favorite restaurants. Be one of the ones who gets it. Go to Natural Oasis.

Most phenomenal vegan food around! So good you'd have no idea and not even miss that type of protein.

    Bhajia, stew, risotto

We stumbled into here after the Roc City Holiday Village, and I'm so glad we did. Three of us ordered 7 things, for a grand total of $37. The food was amazing, there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. We ordered the gnocchi (x2), risotto, lentils, pizza, bhajia, and stew. Highly recommend to everyone.

I've been in Rochester for 2 years now and I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! I came here for dinner on a weekday with a vegan friend and we loved it. The food was delicious. Everything is vegan and served tapas style. We got the risotto, Ethiopian lentils, bhaji and special of the day chipotle curry. Our favorites were the risotto and curry. Both well seasoned and tasty. Each plate was $4 so at the end of the night, we each paid $10.40. Not a bad way to fill up. I can't wait to come back. Tldr: Natural Oasis is great if you're on a budget (cheap dates!), want a break from meat (meatless Mondays!) or just enjoy good food.

Probably my new top spot for "I'm hungry and need something healthy that won't cost me too much more than cooking dinner for myself." Had dinner plans with my vegetarian gal pal and looking for something new - my Yelpers came through for me with this spot. We ordered 5 dishes for two people, left paying $10.80 each and with a mess ton of leftovers. You cannot beat that for food of this quality. Common theme seems to be that the lentils and gnocchi are the top picks - and I would agree 100%. The only dish I was not absolutely crazy about was the risotto, and even that was tasty just a little lacking in flavor compared to the rest of the dishes. The injera is not as tasty as a Zemeta or Abyssinia type resto that focuses exclusively on Ethiopian cuisine, but the creativity in the dishes themselves absolutely makes up for that. If you're paying with card here, write in the tip on the receipt they give you at the end of your meal, and payment happens up at the counter. Overall, this is a perfect spot for a "something different" date night or din with friends. I feel like I have totally found a hidden treasure and I CANNOT wait to get back here for dinner ASAP.

Vegan lunch buffet. Cabbage is ahhmazing.

This is my favorite vegan lunch place in Rochester! The exterior is unassuming but, it's an all you can eat vegan Ethiopian lunch buffet that costs 9.72$ after tax! The choice are usually the same most visits, except the soup changes every so often. Basmati rice, bread, cabbage and carrots, collard greens, green beans and carrots, beets, vegetable soup etc. AMAZINGG! Everything is so delicious, its really unexpected. Definitely try it, especially during the cold months.

On my most recent visit, during lunch time with friends, we all had the all-you-can-eat buffet, which is a great value at $13.99 (current price). The woman serving us was very generous with the portions and also made sure we had plenty of injera bread to eat with it (though there is also rice on the buffet if you prefer.) Although I don't know the names of any of the things I ate, there were mild and spicy options, several kinds of lentils, a kind of pureed chickpea dish, sauteed/braised greens and two kinds of mixed veggies - one with carrots and one with cabbage. Although the buffet is all-you-can-eat, we were all stuffed and just managed to eat what we were served. A few side notes: -- Hours here on Yelp say they open at 11 am which is incorrect. They open at 12 pm each day of the week. -- There is street parking and in this section of the city, it is still free! -- Seating in the front room inside can accommodate approx 20 people. On the day we visited, we were a group of 4, and several singles came in, and two other groups of 4, and the place was packed -- There are also several meat options on the buffet; if you want the meat the buffet price increases by $1 -- Beverages are all in bottles - water, sodas, etc -- This place uses disposable paper plates and plastic cutlery -- Don't forget to ask about the samosas! They have a veggie one and a meat one, and though we forgot and were too full, they looked and smelled amazing!

Yelp delivery fees, taxes, service fees & tip made a super reasonably priced meal quite pricey, but the combo meal was worth every penny.

The lamb (Yebeg Alicha) is so so good & tender. Everything is very flavorful and made with a lot of thought into the flavor profiles and high quality ingredients. I will say that the chicken (Doro Tibs) was kind of dry, but the other components (Kilt was my favorite) made up for it. The spicy (Misir) can actually be quite spicy, but the hints of sweetness help mellow it out a bit. The portions are huge, and perfect for sharing! Overall, I love coming here and highly recommend checking this place out!:)

We chose Misir Wat, a glorious heap of red lentils stewed in onion and tomato sauce, and Kilt, a turmeric-kissed medley of potatoes, carrots, and cabbage that made me briefly consider adopting a vegetable-based lifestyle (briefly). We also got the Hawi Special ($6), an iced blend of sesame powder and honey. Imagine the rich, nutty taste of tahini and the comforting hug of honey -- but in liquid form, and with occasional hard bits that feel like nature's own attempt at boba. It was delicious and slightly mysterious. I liked it! 4/5. The food? So. Good. The kind of good where you're halfway through the meal and already regretting how full you're going to be but refuse to slow down. The kind of good where you consider getting extra injera just to prolong the experience. Now, full disclosure: I love Ethiopian food. Unconditionally. Irrationally. My Ethiopian friend, in their infinite wisdom, tells me this place is just "okay." But do I trust their expert opinion, or my own food-induced euphoria? I think we all know the answer. 10/10, would happily waddle out of here again. Thank you Anan for coming here with me!
