My husband and I have our licenses from abroad and just needed the prerequisite hours the DMV requires to get our NYC permit. Even though it didn't sound like the best way to spend a Saturday, Luis Daniel did a great job of speaking to us: time passed quickly and there were actually helpful tips for the road test. He makes an effort to create an interactive class - there are no boring, retro driving videos -and he's very helpful when answering questions. Bonus: the driving school is mere steps away from the subway. read more

I had 3 different friends recommend Cedeno to me so I went there. This is a great school, everybody working there is nice and helpful, I passed on the first time thanks to my instructor, Jorge and to his team. Jorge is patient and funny, I had a great time practicing with him and was able to go to the test and be confident thanks to him. read more

I had issues with driving while being nervous due to a major accident and have failed two driving exams because of it. I went to this school to help me pass my driving exam. I was straight forward with my issues and after 3 classes I was extremely confident and no longer nervous. I passed my exam because of this driving school and I cannot be more grateful with the quality of service they provided. read more

Highly Recommend!!!!!!! Great instructors, very informative and fun 5 hour class. Excellent customer Service along with professionalism and the soft skills needed for someone who is a first time driver. The Tips helped and I Passed my road test on the first try with the help of this school !!! read more

Best driving school ever! I'm embarrassed to say but I failed the road test twice at another driving school but when I came to Cedeno they taught me so much and some I haven't learned from my previous driving school. This school wants you to learn and pass they are not just out for your money like most schools. I am proud to say I past my road test after receiving classes from Cedeno. I highly recommend Cedeno if you want to not only pass your road test but actually learn to drive well. read more

Not sure what all the hype is about this company. I called (instead of going to the office to sign up) to set up a couple lessons and a test date. Within the first call, I chose which package I wanted and gave my payment information over the phone. They said I'd get a texted receipt, which I never received. Then after waiting for them to get back to me longer than I probably should have, I had to call back twice in one week to ask why I hadn't been contacted to set up dates for my lessons and road test. Both times the person who picked up said they would "Call back," which never happened. I called back the third time and managed to schedule a 'refresher' lesson the hour before my road test and was told I would get a call back to schedule the second lesson, which would precede the refresher (I scheduled them in backwards order). The Wednesday of road test week arrived and I still hadn't heard from anyone so I called and scheduled one the following morning. Not only did I not have the same instructor for the two back-to-back days of lessons, but the first instructor bragged about his reviews on Yelp and the second tried to teach me a new method (in a confusing way) of parallel parking THE day of my road test even though my method worked perfectly fine. I signed up with Cedeno because they're 5-star rated on Yelp. I had already been driving for some time and just needed to brush up on my technique and get used to the car I would be testing in. That said, both instructors used their break a little too frequently, and if I were a new driver I don't think the way to learn safe driving is to have someone else stop the car for me... Perhaps if I had started and with this school from the beginning I'd have had a different experience, but having started at the end of this driver's license process, the reality pales in comparison to the reviews. On a lighter note, the third instructor who drove me to the test site gave me last minute pointers on things the examiner looks for that were extremely helpful, and are probably a key reason I passed the test (aside from the fact that I'd been practicing driving for a few months already). read more

I signed up in late January 2021 as a student at Cedeno Driving school without hardly any experience driving. The instructors, Rufino and Luis, each took their time with me teaching me the basics (buttons/gears/mirrors, maneuvers, turns, stop signs, 3-point turn, parallel parking, etc. ) After doing the 10 class package, which included the 5 hour video session done via zoom (hosted by Luis), I passed the driving test on the first try (in March) and I feel way more confident driving now. Both are detailed, patient, and encouraging instructors who ensured I continued to improve each class. As far as the school itself, the staff in the office are very kind and helpful, and they were very flexible with me and scheduling my classes. I did have to cancel/reschedule a few of them, and since I gave them 24 hour heads up, there were absolutely no issues. Also the car used was a very smooth and comfortable Toyota, and every time I switched between instructors the car remained the same- so I was able to get familiar with it, and use it for the actual driving exam. I HIGHLY recommend going to this school, and learning from either Rufino or Luis. Amazing people, and their guidance truly helped me. (P.s. they used all necessary precautions during covid). read more

Cedeno Driving School - The student driver car :) - Driving Schools Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This review is only for the 5 hour class which I was dreading......and it turned out to be a very informative, engaging and fun afternoon! Instructor was Luis who brought the energy even though I am sure he's done this a thousand times and it must be difficult to go through the same spiel day after day and still sound enthusiastic. Signed up for my driving lessons - can't wait! read more

This is hands down the best driving school in all of Williamsburg. I had to time crunch with my college schedule and they prepared all my lessons and road test in a perfect and timely manner. The 5 hours class was incredibly informative and the instructor made sure everyone was on board by translating back and forth in English and Spanish and giving helpful tips. They also give you text message reminders to remind you about lessons, which I found to be really helpful. Didn't pass on my first try but that was all the nerves, had my legs shaking on the pedals so can't really blame anyone but myself for that one. I'll definitely come back for highway lessons once I do get my license though! Cheers! read more

Took my 5 hour class here as well as bought the ten class package and added three more on top just to be safe. I was really scared of driving but I passed my test with a perfect score! I drove with Rufino, Luis, Richard and Jorge. All were great teachers and I found it helpful to mix it up a little in order to get different perspectives. The teacher I had the most times was Jorge, and so I have to give him the most credit. He is a very good teacher-- relaxed, informative and fun! I looked forward to my classes with him every time. Thank you, Jorge! read more

So appreciative of this driving school, passed with this driving school! They are truly caring people and will ensure you are well-prepared for your road test, they will give u a mock-road test right before your exam. Props to George and Fabian who are very nice, patient and prepare you very well so you are on track to pass! Thankful for this driving school and all of the helpful staff! Go here if you want to pass, if i could give this place 100 stars I would, best of the best in the Williamsburg area! read more

I took the 5 hour class with Luis and it was really helpful, easy going and not boring at all (as I thought was going to be). After the 5h class I decided to get my road test scheduled by them because I was in a rush and they got me the appointment basically 7 days after my first class. Also took a couple classes just to get used to the road (I used to drive in my country hut had bot driven in NY) and they took me to the road test site/used their car for the test. I PASSED MY TEST on my first try! Very happy with all the service read more

Just finished a 5 hour pre license class with Luis. He was great! The class was super informative and educational without being boring. I'm super nervous about becoming an NYC driver but I definitely feeling more prepared and ready to begin classes also at Cedeno after this class. I will update after my classes and driving test. But I'm sure it will continue to be a positive experience just based off of this 5 hour class. read more

This is a great school and I love the driving instructor's techniques especially for someone as nervous as I am. The prior school I took lessons with left me feeling as though I would never be able to drive however after taking lessons with Luis and Fabien I can definitely say my mindset has changed. Although I haven't taken my road test yet, whether I pass or fail I highly recommend this school. Hopefully next week I'll be back to let you know I passed my road test! read more

I bought the package that came with 15 classes and the five hour class. I took my courses over the summer and had at least 2 classes with George and Fabian, but the rest of my classes were with Luis. Luis is an INCREDIBLE instructor because he is not only patient, but very very articulate. He explains things very clearly and provides step by step instructions on how to park, drive, etc. His ability to break things down helped me a lot because he would keep explaining things even after I kept making the same mistake over and over again. Overall, everyone in Cedeno is great. They're caring, sincere, and want to see you pass your exam. I really recommend going to this driving school! read more

Cedeno is the best. I first took the 5 hour class with Luis. The class was a real class instead of watching a bunch of manual videos from the 80's. Luis was very informative and entertaining - and most importantly he speaks with clarity! I also purchased 10 driving classes and Luis also was my driving instructor. What a great teacher! He is very patient, observant, knowledgeable and professional. His instruction is systematic and are so easy to understand. He is not intimidating, but he is not overly friendly/chatty either - Just the right balance to get you in an alert state of mind the way you need to be while you are taking a test. The owner, Marcia is very accommodating and supportive to your needs, same with all the other staff working there. The cars being used for the practice are easy to use, clean and current model. I felt well-trained and well-equipped during my test and I passed with only 1 minor mistake. Thanks Cedeno! read more

Cedeno, Cedeno, Cedeno. Thank you for your patient instructors. I signed up for driving lessons with NO experience what so ever. I took lessons with Fabian and Jorge. These guys are awesome and extremely patient. It is because of them that I passed my road test. Thank you Cedeno:-) read more

When I first walked into this place for the 5 hour class I was like "yikes it's the early 80s " but this driving school is the best ! Luis my instructor was SO patient with me . He's kind and funny and has really good tips. He also taught my son at the same time who took his test the day before me and we both passed . 100% recommend this driving school - very nice people and good results. read more

This is the best driving school in Brooklyn. They are so kind, helpful, and speedy with their email replies/scheduling/text messages/everything. I took the five-hour class and one lesson and just passed my test today. (I do have a good amount of previous driving experience, I had just let my license lapse so I had to start from the beginning.) They tell you everything you need to know and instill you with confidence. Cedeno is a family-owned business with instructors who are passionate about driving. Can't say enough good things! read more

Just got my driver's license today, thanks to my extremely knowledgable instructor George and the two wonderful ladies at the front desk. The price is reasonable, the classes are excellent, the front desk is super responsive, the cars are very new, and the location is considerably convenient (right off Grand St on L). I would honestly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in taking a driving class (get a package, great deal!). One tip though, if you have zero experience in driving (and don't have anyone to help you practice on the side), please consider getting at least 10 classes before going to the road test. And don't forget to ask them about the special class! read more

This is the only place I will ever ever recommend anybody taking the 5 hour course. Luis was a great instructor. He kept the class engaged and entertained. Literally broke down everything from a boring video into real life scenarios and situations. The course is standard 50$ plus a 12$ fee if you'd like them to schedule your road test appointment. Will definitely be making sure my sister comes here for her 5 hour class! read more

I passed on my very first try. Luis and Fabian were AMAZING instructors!!!!! Best driving school in Brooklyn. I recommend 100%.

Sebastien the driving instructor is an old pro. He was super thorough and had me driving perfectly within a week! They also drove me to the driving test and I passed with flying colors! read more

Couldn't have passed my test without Luis and the team! Having never driven before, and with no outside practice, I was able to pass with just the lessons from Luis, who is an excellent teacher. The Cedeno team also organized my road test and the 5 hour class without any hassle. Highly recommended. read more

First, a little about me... I'm 33 and moved to nyc over 10 years ago. (Where else can you live if you can't drive?) I took my road test (and failed) when I was 16 so basically I could have a kid that has their license by now. My boyfriend bought a car recently so I decided it was time to get my license. I was terrified by the thought. I chose Cedeno because I see their car driving around my neighborhood from time to time, and it was close by. I had no idea what to expect. I was very nervous. And on top of that, I was learning how to drive in Brooklyn! I purchased one lesson to see how it went. Luis was my instructor, and he was all business, and I mean this in the best way possible. Very professional and very calm. He's full of information and great at his job. You're not going to get a lot of small talk out of him, but you can tell he's a good guy in general. He also made the most nervous driver you'll ever meet feel confident! Trust me, if he can teach me he can teach you. I ended up purchasing a package of 5 additional lessons, the mandatory 5 hour class, and my road test. The 5 hour class was the worst. I thought I was going to rip my hair out I was so bored. No movie, you just literally sat in a chair for almost 4 hours with an unnecessary 30 min break in between and get yelled at in Spanish. Might have gotten something from it if I actually understood Spanish, but I don't. Super confusing and energy depleting. From what I hear though, the 5 hour class anywhere is a joke and just mandatory for the state. Maybe I'm wrong, do some research. Going back to the classes and to Luis... he was my only instructor and I was relieved to also know he was taking me to my road test. People, I PASSED! It's kind of a miracle. In closing if you're like me and waited an embarrassingly long amount of time to get their license and are scared to learn how to drive in New York, don't be, Luis won't have that! read more

I have a very busy schedule and had to postpone the 5 hour class lesson twice. I called before to let them know, and reschedule. Last time I called to rescheduled they just said they cancelled my road test exam date. Without even calling me or anything... They cancelled my road test because I couldn't go to the last 5 hour class lesson. What a waste of time. I'll go to another driving school. Thought they were more flexible. Now I'll have to wait another 2 month before taking a road test. Fed up. read more

I just want to say I had the very best experience in Cedeno driving school. This was my 3rd school and I say I wish I met them before! They were excellent with booking called me right away after I bought my package online. They was able to work with my work/school schedule to accommodate me. I had the pleasure meeting Luis, George, Fabian, and two other instructors I'm sorry for not remembering your names. There is a female instructor whom was wonderful to me love her super nice and cool. But I can say all instructors are excellent and wonderful. I had a great experience in all my driving lessons with all the tips and tricks they gave me to improve on my skills. I honestly appreciate your dedication and knowledge. It definitely showed that you care about your students and your teachings. I passed my road test on 8/27/2021 with flying colors. I was the first one to take the test which made me super nervous but I relaxed and did it!!!!Thank you for believing in me!!! I was having some doubts lol but I did it!!! I said if I failed I would go back because they were really great to me overall. I recommend everyone to come to this school to learn how to drive trust me you will not be disappointed. They are very patient, calm and very knowledgeable. Thank you guys again for everything. I already recommended two of my friends to go for driving classes. ... lastly thank you ladies for always being prompt on scheduling my classes at the reception. read more

This is an awesome driving school. The instructors are patient, thorough, and specific -- they know how to help you pass the test and be a good driver! I had Luis and Fabian and loved them both. They are also incredibly flexible and accommodating about schedules and booking lessons, and affordable. I was super scared to take my road test, but I passed and will definitely go back for highway driving lessons! Thank you!! read more

This is the first and only driving school I have been to. I had ZERO driving skills, a complete sad newbie lol. I've heard about driving schools where the instructor is impatient, yells at you, gets upset, loses their cool and doesn't know how to conduct themselves when dealing with a newbie. We all need a chance. And I can assure you Cedeno Driving School will make you feel like you're part of their family. They're so nice and friendly. Luis was my driving instructor (10 Lessons being a driving-virgin) and he's very patient and skilled at teaching anybody how to drive, whether you never got behind the wheel before to having a bit of experience you want to perfect on. Thanks to him, I PASSED MY ROAD TEST! I did pass it on my 3rd try; the first time I was really nervous (normal but try your best not to be to pass it that first time), the 2nd time the big tall black guy for my road test was the rude/egotistic/assh**e that many have talked about (I'm black okay. Not being racist so don't go there lol, but I mean he's the only black individual for the road test - so to have that only person in my race act like that is a disappointment and fits with the stereotypes that piss me off. The others are serious but understanding at the same time. He's not. So you'll know you're screwed if you see him walking towards you. He's not friendly and starts off with an attitude already. While everyone else was pulling off to start their test, he was purposely having a full conversation/laughing with another guy outside the car I was in making me wait REALLY long for him to get in the f**king car and start my test. I mean REALLY long it was ridiculous. Very obvious he was having fun with his job being an assh**e.) so you'd have to be a professional driver to pass with him. One lil mistake with him won't fly and he'll bark at you and catch an attitude. But hopefully with you knowing about him ahead of time, you'll be prepared. The third time I was amped and tuned down my nerves, and BAM! I PASSED! Only 10 points deducted, thank you Cedeno Driving School! Great family-run business! P.S.: The 5 hour class is HILARIOUS lol the instructor is too too cool and funny, but very informative. What better way to remember information than to make it fun/funny lol read more

Did the 5 hour course here, it was an interesting experience, listening to Mario for a few hours. Had 1 lesson with a younger guy (I think his name was Luis, but I could be wrong), who was really good. Told me, showed me and got me to practice exactly what I needed for the test. He was really nice and very knowledgable about exactly what's needed to pass the road test. He then took me to the road test the next day and I passed. I would not have passed if it hadn't been for Cedeno, passing the test is a lot different than knowing how to drive, you need to drive a lot differently and the young guy at Cedeno taught this very well. read more

Going to Cedeno was the best decision I made!! I passed my road test with the great help from Luis and George. The price is reasonable and fair. The five hour class was very entertaining. I must say the instuctors are very patient. I did my few lessons with Luis and he told me what i needed to work on which helped and my last few lessons with George who was such a big help and polishing up everything i need to pass the road test. I recommend anyone to take this 5 hour course. I've been in a few, and I literally did not learn half of what I did today. I'm an interactive learner so this help me absorb this essentially crucial information faster. No terrible movie from the 80s just a good teacher who gives a damn you learn something today. I always took driving in NYC for granted, but there are a lot of rules and it isn't as easy as you think. Mr. Daniel is super chill by the way , I cannot believe I forgot his first name I'm so rude. Anyway do it ! read more
