I was lucky enough to sample some of their delicious pastries at an office meeting this morning. I've not had the pleasure of stopping in but I've driven by several times and it really looks great from the outside, especially in the summer they have a little patio set up that would be great with warm weather. Back to the pastries though- I tried and apple and a blueberry. Both were delicious and so flaky. Just the right amount of sweet not overly "processed" so you could tell they were made with better ingredients and definitely freshly made. There were a few other options in our spread including a breakfast croissant of sorts with bacon or ham and cheese in it. It got good reviews from my co-workers. I'll definitely put this coffee shop on my radar now. read more

Everyone who works here is extremely knowledgeable and friendly--probably some of the best service I've seen in Flagstaff. Their drinks are always fantastic, and they have a huge array of pastries. I order the cookie butter chai (I believe it may be a seasonal item, but last I checked, they're still serving it), and it is delicious. The environment is very calm, and you always see people gathering to chat with friends or to work. Wide variety of seating options. One of my favorite coffee spots in Flagstaff for sure read more

Great people, vibes and the interior decoration was nice. The scone was awesome, not too dry or not too moist. The coffee was very bold and strong, not for the weak. read more

TL;DR -- Above average offerings and a good option for carry-out coffee/treats. Been going to Cedar House occasionally for a couple years and just spent some time reading reviews. Many complaints regard the parking, which isn't ideal, but includes a few steep spots on the side and a couple more designated for takeout, only. After this, it is street parking in the Sunnyside neighborhood behind the shop. The location isn't great, but a few designated spots is more than some local places can boast. There's about a 50/50 chance of getting a side spot when you arrive. It's a bit tricky to navigate into and out of, but not a deal-breaker by any stretch. Some seating outside along a busy road (again, not a great location) but it can be peaceful enough, and some more indoors. The space isn't large, but it has a unique quirky interior that's cozy enough to sit for a while and a fun selection of local goods and coffee paraphernalia, though the lack of a public restroom turns some off. The drink selection includes pretty typical drip/brewed options and espresso drinks, plus a few unique and seasonal options, all of which are pretty good. Better than average but not breathtaking, and there is some QC concerns, but generally you'll enjoy what you get. The pastry selection is one of the best in town, and the quality is great, second only to Foret, maybe, but more affordable by a good stretch. Overall prices are typical for Flagstaff local. People have mentioned complaints about customer service, but I've never had issues. I wouldn't describe the team as especially bubbly or social, but they are amenable and do good work. The team is one of--if not THE--smallest of any coffee shop in town, after all. The lines aren't bad and the wait isn't too long, either. If you're used to the highly-streamlined, polished, affluent/modern atmosphere and process of the semi-local or chain cafes of larger cities, you're probably just in the wrong city, period. At least, this probably won't be the coffee shop for you. If you like smaller, slower, family-owned but not quite perfect, then you'll enjoy it. Especially if you're just going in to order and carry out. read more

WOW!! Absolutely the best coffee house in Flagstaff!! FRESH, HOMEMADE pastries right out of the oven!! Best chai latte in town! Has a cozy fireplace, couches and cute decor. Service is always top notch! read more

The pastry's were okay. We ordered a chocolate croissant that was average but the chocolate inside was not melted and was like bar that was kind of hard to bit into. We even ordered a peach star pastry that was a little hard or old but it tasted okay. We also ordered a pecan maple pastry that was okay but nothing above average. The service was interesting the drip coffee was out and they had to ask if we wanted the coffee to be brewed. But the drip coffee was also average. The guy who took our order was very nice and cleaned off the outside table so we could sit outside with our dog. On the pictures the place seemed bigger than it was. The bathroom was out of toilet paper read more

The pastries here are stunning and delicious. Usually not a strong point for coffee shops and they really brought it up a level here. They are like little scrumptious, flaky, works of art. Had a honey lavender latte. Delicious. Definitely coming back again. And again. read more

We were traveling through Flagstaff after doing the Grand Circle. This coffee shop was recommended on a Route 66 site. My wife and I grabbed an iced latte, chai, and muffin. The drinks were top notch and the muffin was fantastic. Super moist and I think they put cinnamon and brown sugar on it (double chocolate muffin). It was super good. The coffee shop itself is very cool. Great vibe. If we were staying longer or lived there, I could see it as our go to place. The sketches on the wall from beloved children's books and the other decor was eye candy while waiting for our order. Lastly, the staff that waited on us were super nice and helpful. read more

Yes, it looks like a war zone with sandbag barriers left and right. It seems that they have flooding when it rains and all houses down all streets have these sandbag barriers. It didn't worry me since I volunteer in disasters and I have seen worse. Parking is very limited but we found parking. The pastries were great, we really liked them and the coffee was nice. The problem I have is that they don't have restrooms and they don't have any sign telling you about it. So if you wait too long because you are working on a project on your laptop, you will have to pack your stuff and drive to the nearest store 1/4 mile away. They should have a sign that stated right away that they don't have restrooms and we wouldn't have stayed after getting our coffee and food. That's how easy it would have been to get a five-star review from me. But they missed the chance and now they are getting a three-star review for withholding important information that could have produced a disaster. read more

Cedar House - Very cozy looking, just right for a neighborhood coffee shop! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

Stopped here on our way to the Grand canyon and everything was great from the moment we walked in. The space is adorable and the pastries all looked delectable. My black iced tea was strong but tasty. The drip coffee was also good. My stepson had the cheddar and cilantro scone and it was so fluffy and tasty like a biscuit. He also had an iced mocha that was "really good". We will definitely be back because I need to try the chai. It would definitely be my spot if I lived here. read more

This small local gem has been a cornerstone of stability in my routine during COVID. It's got a cozy Parisian cafe vibe with a charming gift selection, including products from some local makers. The coffee is consistently great and the pastries are incredible (I've tried almost everything on the menu). Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and provided excellent service. It's easy to see that significant care has been put into the crafting an design of the space; I come every week and something small has shifted every time - perhaps seasonal decor, a new gift section, or a seasonal item on their blackboard menu. On top of all that, they've done a great job navigating COVID. They have been perfectly clear from the start regarding their safety measures and boundaries as a business. Hand sanitizer is available and the COVID safety measures (such as line markers) are easy to follow and have been beautifully integrated into the design of the space. As such, I have always felt perfectly safe patronizing this coffeehouse. Being greeted by a friendly and familiar face each week and enjoying a coffee and a pastry in their outside seating has provided a soothing sense of normalcy and routine that I can't overstate. I'm grateful to Cedar House for staying open and keeping our bellies filled and hearts warm all year long. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! GO CHECK IT OUT!! Everything from the outstanding service, to the one-of-a-kind coffee's, this place is great. Simply DELICIOUS! and.. super unique and fun rustic interior. This brand-new coffee shop will soon be Flagstaff's best! They also sell tons of cute trinkets, old-fashion candies, unique candles and other gifts for sale. They said they will soon carry Sugar Mama's pastries (which are amazing!) and deli easy-grab foods from Stage Left deli (which is delicious and located in down town Flagstaff). I can't wait for that to happen so this can be my one-stop-shop! The coffee beans are from all over the world and a different one is featured every couple of days. Nothing but a great experience. Everything is affordable and my cupcake latte was amazing even until the last sip! They offer all sorts of fun drinks form the Shermanator; a peanut butter mocha named after the owner's Dog, to a carmel cookie crumble flavored coffee with whip cream and real cookie pieces as chocolate chip cookies as garnish. Yummm! Loved this place! This is a must visit for Flagstaff locals and visitors. read more

My family and I stopped here before heading back home to phoenix. We are constantly on a mission to find local businesses we can recommend to others. My girlfriend and I ordered the fig and orange scone with the pear, almond, honey pastry. DELICIOUS!!! The coffee tasted high quality. Often time I find certain coffee tends to be a bit too acidic, not the case here. My father and all the kids ordered caramel Frappuccinos and they were levels above Starbucks. Well worth the money spent. 10/10 would recommend Cedar House. They will be my coffee shop going forward when visiting Flagstaff. read more
