I've been to Cecile's once before the Pandemic, but lately have been getting Take Out, which I believe they've been doing throughout COVID. The inside is adorable, but closed now. The outside, along Sunset Drive, is open, with outdoor seating. The things I have ordered for take-out are: the Parisian Sandwich ($10), the Breakfast Sandwich ($13), the Tuna Salad sandwich ($11), the Salmon and Ricotta Tartine ($14) and a cup of Zucchini Cilantro soup ($4). The only one I wasn't crazy about was the Parisian Sandwich, which I felt had too much bread and butter. My favorite was the Salmon and Ricotta Tartine, with smoky salmon, capers, creamy whipped ricotta and delicious whole grain bread. The soups are good, non-creamy, made in the French manner, with a slice of bread on the side. I asked them to pack the tuna salad on the side of the croissant, so it wouldn't get soggy and they did, which was appreciated. The side salad comes with a nice dressing, rich and filled with olive oil, although the salad that was in with my Breakfast sandwich got wilted due to the heat of the sandwich, so consider how long it will sit when you order, otherwise you might ask for it to be packed in a separate container. A word about the containers- they are paper, not styrofoam- merci! The croissants are excellent (plain, almond and chocolate) and the desserts outstanding. I ordered The Ebene for my stepdaughter's birthday and she loved it, as it has four different layers of chocolate and looked beautiful. When I came for lunch before, we also enjoyed the Millefeuille and the Ivory (a coconut sponge cake with fruit cream), so you can't go wrong with any of the delicious French desserts. There is outside seating, if you want to dine in, but it is very easy to order and pay with a credit card online. My order was ready for me when I arrived and they handed it to me a paper bag, so it all seems very safe, with the servers wearing masks. Cecile's Bakery is a Mom and Pop place that is a neighborhood gem, with soups, salads, sandwiches, quiches, baked goods and delicious desserts. They're open for breakfast and lunch. If you buy a pair of sneakers at Foot Works (which I did today) they will give you 10% off with the receipt. read more

I won't be coming back anytime soon. Service was wayyyy to slow for lunch. I sent back my sandwich because I asked for a different cheese and no pesto. Instead it was smothered in pesto and no cheese. Then the same sandwich came back again. I told them that it was still wrong. On the third time it came back almost frozen and I asked them to warm it up. I've never had to send back food 4 times. We also got our soups at 3 separate times (party of 3). The manager realized how badly they were screwing up and brought us two complimentary small deserts. The gesture was nice but I won't be coming back until the servers and chefs have been trained or changed. I saw other tables sending back their food and complaining as well. It's very cute and decor is very nice but it was a very long time to wait. I'm assuming because it's still new and they have a lot to work out. Two separate groups of my friends have also been and said that service was slow for them too but the food was good which I can agree with. For the price I won't be coming back. Saturday morning I convinced my husband to try this new place in south Miami. After reviewing the menu, I decided to order the huevos ibéricos dish. No where In the description of this meal in anyway let's you know that you are ordering a bowl of match sticks topped with couple of eggs and about five pieces of manchego cheese and chorizo, plus a DRY slice of ham which by the way the description also fail to inform. Overall, I will probably give another chance to this place hoping that I won't be disappointed, but I will never order huevos ibéricos ever again besides the fact that after ordering well done eggs and waiting they brought me sunny side eggs. This is the cutest neighborhood spot in SoMi. The staff are extremely kind and the service has been good. It's not a crazy loud brunch place (which I appreciate). The food is consistently good and the coffee is great. Their almond croissants are outrageous. They have a little take out area on the right side of the restaurant where you can purchase sweet or savory pastries. They do make some of their desserts in larger sizes so that you can order for a special event. I noticed that they have a wide variety of macaroon flavors as well. Wow!! what a treat! The two plates we ordered were both delicious. We ordered an Asian infused short rib grilled cheese and the salmon and ricotta sandwich. The food came out quickly and the host chefs and waitresses were all friendly and eager for us to have a great experience. I would go back in a heartbeat there were so many more items on the menu I wanted to try and their baked goods looked so fresh and beautifully arranged on their counter. My girlfriend brought me here since the place looked cute from the outside. We came in for brunch and it was empty. I ordered the madame croquette and my gf had a soup. The waitress came back 10 mins later and told me they didn't have madame croquette. So I ordered the eggs benedict. The waitress came back with my gf soup and told me they didn't have eggs benedict and asked me what else I'd like to eat. What kinda of place is this that they don't know what they don't have until you order it??? I asked her to get me the chef. He didn't come out but she came back to tell me he could make the eggs benedict but without hollandaise sauce because they didn't have any.... Uh, hollandaise sauce is literally three ingredients any french kitchen should have: eggs, butter and vinegar/lemon juice. How the hell don't they have these basic ingredients...??? So the waitress saw I was visibly upset and came back saying the chef was able to make the sauce after all...... This place is a joke, no wonder it was so empty on a weekend for brunch! There was no way in hell I was going to eat that food, god knows the chef spit in it just because I made his lazy ass make hollandaise sauce. Order takeout at your own risk! My family used to love this French bakery, but we have been burned a couple of times in takeout when we get home. If they are out of items they think it is acceptable to substitute them with different goods instead of notifying the customer. First time visit. Very attractively designed interior. Items on display look quite good. The food items that I had were relatively good except for the veggie quiche. Overbaked or over-reheated, not fluffy, eggs and veggie proportions not well balanced. I would give the quiche a 2 out of 10. I will give this place another try soon with my family so as to get a better idea of their selections and quality.
