New spot in Coral Gables!!! Had a blast last night at Cebada Rooftop. Coral Gables was definitely missing a rooftop restaurant and I never realize until last night. This place was a great addition to the Coral Gables area. You have to take an elevator upstairs and this reminded me of places in San Francisco and New York but a lot more cleaner. Once you're upstairs, you're greeted by the host! There's a perfect picture taking section to your left once you get off the elevator. I love them places do that! I feel like it shows that the owner thought about multiple factors when considering their restaurant/bar. This makes it fun for the customer! The drinks were amazing and I loved the creative names! They were aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well and you can tell a lot of work was put into it. They had a VARIETY to choose from! I loved the guava, mojito and coffee one!!! They have a small selection of food but I feel like it was perfect to match the environment and so it doesn't take focus away from the alcohol section. Perfect for a night out to have some light bites as well. I definitely recommend this place and props to the owner for opening such a cool spot. The service was ok and the rooftop is kind of cool, however the food and drinks were underwhelming. We went on happy hour , they do have some drinks at a discounted price (some of them premixed frozen ) . We ordered croquetas de Jamon that did not taste like ham not they did have visible traces of ham in them. A hamburger full of ingredients that tasted like burnt meat and an eggplant mousse that was ok. Overall may be a good place to share drinks with friends at happy hour. This is was my fist time in this places, and everything was amazing. I loved the vibe, the music, and the service. This is a new place in Ponce de Leon. Make sure you make a reservation, i went on a Friday night and the place was pack! I recommend you to try the oysters and the croquetas. I thought Giralda Ave couldn't get any better, and then this placed opened! You'll notice their sign and a single door leading you into a hallway with an elevator at the end waiting to take you up to the roof top. When you get up there you'll notice the center bar and rustic furniture that gives this restaurant an upscale yet laid-back happy hour feel you've probably been waiting for all work week. The restaurant also has a nice view of Giralda Ave making you feel like you're almost part of the crowd down below but also in your own happy hour vibe. That being said I came here for happy hour. Unfortunately the day I went it was a little rainy but that didn't stop myself nor everyone else in Miami from enjoying this new gem. I started my evening with a cocktail cleverly named 'Relax, It Only Tingles A Little' and it truly only tingled a little. I paired that with shishito peppers and a dozen oysters. The peppers were cooked to tender perfection, with a generous portion of grated manchego cheese on top. I was so excited and ate it before taking a picture so that should speak to how mouth watering they looked. The oysters were on a happy hour special which was $2 per. They were a decent size and deliciously fresh. Overall I had a wonderful time and loved the ambiance here. It's perfect for getting a drink after work or before dinner and even an ideal place to have a dinner party. I love how central it is, as there's lots to do nearby after your visit. Wonderful spot to go after work for happy hour with co-workers. Even though it rained and we could not sit outside, we had a fun time and celebrated a birthday! There is an excellent selection of drinks from beer to cocktails and wine. There is something for everyone. The food was delicious. The Lobester Roll is a must have. Who knew there was such thing as a Corn Rib. So good. The ribs were mouth watering, tender and seasoned perfectly! We tried the Bone Marrow as well which was flavorful and spicy. To end a perfect evening, we had the Mud Pie and Donuts Balls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was enjoyed by all. I cannot wait to go back when it is not raining. read more

I was recommended this spot by a friend! I was in town visiting and let me tell it did not disappoint. I had their Chorrizo coca, ceviche, Jamon croquetas, brussel sprouts, and patitas bravas. It was delicious! The service was amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable! The views and location is amazing!!! I love their drink names, and was looking for vodka inspred drink and Alyssa our server, recommend I try the Bruce lychee drink! It was amzazing! The service, food and drinks were so amazing that I forgot to take pictures of them. In the first course the Oysters tasted so good and the Octopus tasted so delicious. What a wonderful place to meet up for some drinks or dinner. Started off at the bar during happy hour, ordered myself one of the house draft cocktails called "Relax, it only tingles a little" and not only was it refreshing and delicious but so cutely decorated, a flamingo printed straw and a decorative flamingo on my drink, it was so good I had to order a second one and this time it came with a cactus decorated straw and a little yellow ducky for decoration. After the drinks we asked to sit at a table and even though we didn't have a reservation we were quickly sat. We had a wonderful dinner under the full moon and every dish we ordered was better than the one before. We shared all of the dishes we ordered so we could try all the items. Started with some cauliflower, seasoned in a cream sauce and toasted breadcrumbs, so yummy. Also ordered the smoked duck drummets, a first for me, and the meat was falling off the bone. The Australian flap steak we ordered was also cooked to the temperature we asked for and was flavorful. And for dessert we ordered the Tina donut balls which were so light and fluffy that it was hard to stop eating those little bite size deliciousness. I highly recommend all these dishes and already planned another visit to keep exploring the menu. read more

We came to Cebada for a 40th birthday celebration and I was really looking forward to going because all of Miami and Coral Gables has been speaking of this place. To start off, we loved the entrance, looks like you're in the wrong area but the elevator takes you right up to the entrance of the rooftop. Once we were acclimated with the group, we started getting helped by Ali, which was truly amazing the whole night remembering our names and what we wanted as drinks as they kept coming. We tried the round ham croquettes with the guava dip and it was amazing, it was our favorite of the night. But there were others that we tried, like the flat bread pizza, strips of corn, and mini sandwiches. All priced well for their sizes. Only bad thing about going in July, even at 9pm, is that it's super hot, although they did have a lot of fans everywhere to try to keep people cool. Food was phenomenal, we got the pumpkin gnocchi and the squid ink pasta. Both were fantastic. Don't overlook the pan con tomate, it's a classic but the nailed the freshness. Only downfall was that we sat inside for dinner (which we had reservations for since it was our 6 month anniversary) and we got sat by the bathrooms (one stall each, not great and smelled putrid) where the ceiling was dripping water the entire time. Doors were kept open despite the humidity and we were swarmed by mosquitos all of dinner. Our server was nice but was very absent during our meal, we had to flag down another waitress a few times since it seems they forgot about us. At one point, the server felt bad and try to moved us to another table, only to remove us because it was apparently reserved. Came here spontaneously and was not disappointed! Our server was very knowledgeable and gave the best food recommendations. They specialize in tapas so we ordered small dishes and drinks. The mojitos were great and had just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered the tuna, corn ribs, grouper and pork belly. The pork belly was hands down the best item we got! Management needs to be aware that the hostess in the front in the evenings has a terrible attitude and clearly enjoys turning people away. This has happened twice now. Last time, the entire place was empty. There were probably 20 tables available. She said they were all reserved and then sat us at the worst table by the bathrooms. We were there for over an hour, and there were still several empty tables. The drinks are good, but I won't be going back because the hostess makes it impossible to enjoy and sit on the rooftop. read more

I keep coming back here, so I figured I'd put a few words down. Entry is from the pedestrian-only part of Giralda, through a narrow glass door next to Sweetgreen. Blink and you'll miss it. But don't blink - come down the hall and ride the first elevator 1 floor up. You'll come out at the hostess stand, and you'll have really 5 seating options: outdoor uncovered balcony, covered outdoor terrace, indoor table, indoor bar, and outdoor bar. I usually sit at the outdoor bar - the bartenders are pros, friendly, cheerful, funny, super efficient and they know how to serve you whether you're a solo diner, boys' party, hen party or a date night. Happy hour is 5-7 if you're watching your pocket; you can get one of the nightly premix cocktails for $10, or a bottled beer or wine. They'll hand mix you anything you can name too if you're hankering for something in particular, but I always try the premixes, they are thoughtfully crafted and the flavors are always fantastic. Music is fresh but not over loud, seats are comfortable, people watching is great, it's a relaxed crowd of all ages, usually even a couple kids. Honestly I can think of 20 Miami restaurants that need to take a tip or three from Cebada! read more

This place advertised as a rooftop restaurant but it's actually more of a roof top bar with little variety of food to choose from. Their 5 page menu is 1 page food and 4 pages of drinks. Their customer service is horrible. Our friends and I went in for the first time expecting a better ambiance and for starters the elevator taking you up was rough and made weird noise to the point we even thought we got stuck in the elevator. After ordering unfortunately nothing comes with sides and we don't drink alcohol we really preferred more a food place. After careful thought and scoping out the area we found other food options and decided to leave. They made it hard for us to leave and a lady there with glasses we didn't get her name began to yell at us causing a scene saying we couldn't order food and not pay. We kindly explained to her we didn't find the place to have a variety of food and we were not interested in the drinks. Then the lady began to yell saying she was going to charge our credit cards. Again we ended up recording her and told her go ahead and charge us if she does we would report her because we didn't consume anything from that place. The lady kept cursing saying the f* word and went to the back and closed the door saying " f*** I hate this place!." After that awkward and embarrassing confrontation we decided it was best to leave. Never again coming and never recommending this place to anyone. The place is not the issue it's mostly the customer service was terrible. Attached photo is the lady who treated us badly ! She should be fired immediately! Why would she work in a place she hates like she said? *** Update*** This restaurant charged my two friends credit cards for the whole table. This place is actually the worst. Me and my friends went there to celebrate a birthday and for staters the service was horrible. Our waitress was in a really bad mood, rolling her eyes in front of us and replying to every question with sarcasm and rhetoric. On the other hand, me being a vegan, found this place 0% vegan friendly. This is in my opinion a lack of respect and willingness to accommodate. I mean, not even some French fries or some steamed/sautéed veggies? Also the waitress was really unwilling to make any changes to the plates, I mean how difficult it is to cook something without the cheese or be kind to accommodate a vegan (which there are plenty in Miami) and have some options. To be honest, this was a lack of creativity and vision from the people who planned this menu. On the other hand, their service is rotten to the core. I asked for the manager cause 1) Our waitress was horrible and 2) I found it ridiculous that they didn't even had a side of veggies. To my surprise, the manager was also a complete asshole, way worse. She and our waiter were just badmouthing us from the distance, laughing and rolling their eyes whenever we needed something. The manager was disrespectful, mean and overall a horrible person to deal with. What we concluded as a group was that they are all friends and have each other's backs, which was unfortunate for us because we had no one to complaint to and apparently no one was willing to help. Definitely one of the worst experiences ever. Menu is whatever, drinks are expensive with very small amounts of liquor (they make their cocktails in the morning so they are not fresh), service is horrible and management is just completely inexperience and underprepared for a venue in this city. If I were you I'd completely avoid this place and head over to the many amazing rooftops and outdoor bars in this city. Kinda sad that they have such a great location, a great looking bar but give out the most horrible experience. Never coming back. read more

Went here for food and rinks with a party of 10 and I was impressed! I am always impressed when large parties can be accommodated and tended to without missing a beat. That is not easy but Cebada did the job! Our sever, Sam (Samantha) made sure that we were taken care of and even allowed us to order one more round after we had paid! the food was great! Their cheese platter and avocado salad were my favorite. Happy Hour is until 7 and they have a great selection. The view is amazing as it is the only rooftop bar in the Gables. The atmosphere is very enjoyable for a nice night out. The server was very attentive, but for the price the food quality was not it's best. To start off, the cups at the table were extremely dirty, then my husband ordered a bourbon neat and it was served in a plastic cup that was also dirty. We ordered the flap steak cooked medium, but when it came it was under cooked possibly less than rare. This place is ok to go have a few drinks, but not for a sit down dinner. read more

Wow, the very first rooftop and coral gables! I loved the simply decor. Unfortunately, it was raining but that did not stop us from enjoying this place. The staff is very attentive. They greeted us and sat us at our table right away. The waitress helping us was the bomb! Got our drinks, shots and food over to us fast. I've been to the roof top twice. The first time was ok. Not great. Decided to give it a second chance. Ordered the octopus and raw tuna. They were horrible. The octopus was hard and chewy and the tuna tasted and smelled very fishy. I couldn't eat it. The service was good tho. I will go again but only for drinks. I was really looking forward to seeing this place. All the photos I had seen on social media looked amazing. I think most people are just plain excited to have a rooftop bar in the heart of coral gables. The place is super nice. Super pretty. The vibe is also great. Love the feel. Very spacious. The music was also great. The food just didn't do it for me. Nothing we had was memorable or worth going back for. Portions were very small for the price. From the raw bar we had the tuna, the ceviche and the snow crabs. Not that it tasted bad but again just middle of the road okay. Also had the carne asada main dish. The meat was very fatty and again taste is not memorable. I don't want to complain about staff issues bc there are staffing issues everywhere so it's not fair.
