The weather was perfect and there were plenty of open tables for us to enjoy our lunch outdoors. When we arrived, we found a very clean restaurant with multiple staff waiting to assist. The young man who first helped us in the line was so kind, polite and welcoming. My husband's was the first meal to be ready and another young woman helped ring us up while my and my daughter's meals were still being prepped. You can tell they know how to be efficient, as it was starting to pick up at the lunch rush. Hubby had the lemon chicken bowl and subbed falafel. I had a greens bowl with chicken and we got the mini pita with chicken for our little one. Every ingredient was very fresh and tasty. I LOVE their grilled chicken - so much flavor and just the right amount of spice. Another favorite of mine is the roasted vegetables when I want something a tad lighter. I will say ordering in person guarantees you get the portions you like. I generally opt for light tzatziki and hummus with just a sprinkling of feta. They have a variety of juices, teas and naturally-sweetened sodas at the fountain. They also offer recyclable, plant-based utensils and paper straws, which automatically earns a bonus star in my book! The staff alone was worth 5 stars - pleasant individuals who are happy to help! I haven't quite pinpointed why the flavors don't appeal to me, but they just don't. That said, CAVA has its strong points. The service is quick, the food is healthier, and the ingredients are consistent. Many people love CAVA, and I can see why--it's just not my cup of tea. Finding a seat is usually easy, no matter the party size, although the tables and seats aren't always wiped off for the next guests. Being from NoVa, I'm surprised myself that I've never tried Cava before so I was quite excited when they came to Town Center. The options - a must try! So many variations of greens, protein, and sauces. I love how you can add as much as you want and even better I appreciate the size of their bowl. You can mix everything up with spillage. Pita bread accompanies it as well; delicious! Kind employees, clean location, and there never seems to be much of a wait. Haven't tried their drinks, but interesting variety. Something about CAVA I just love it. Honestly when I am not craving anything I just know that when I came here I am just going to be satisfied. The service is always good and the servers for today were nice definitely liked Lamia for some reason I always get here when the rush is about to start but she was prompt and had a smile on her face the entire time. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the tables inside could use some attention as many had no one sitting there but needed to be cleaned. There is indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting) and no discounts of any sort are offered. The concept of this eaterie is similar to a build-your-own with Mediterranean options. I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of CAVA in Hampton and this location pales in comparison. The food options were fresh and I do appreciate the server letting me know that the lamb meatballs and chicken harrisa options are available for an additional fee. Both were tasty but the portion was paltry considering the upcharge. Boasting an assortment of flavored waters, milk, juice, and my go-to option of ginger beer around $2.50 each. Service is efficient and the workers seemed almost robotic as they kept pace with the influx of customers. My build your own bowl was fresh and flavorful. Wait a minute, let me back up a minute... Being that I only tend to get CAVA on Saturdays, maybe their bad service is a weekend thing. That said, helpful hint: You'd be better served going in and ordering your food there as opposed to ordering it ahead of time because you'll be waiting forever. This is the third week that I've ordered ahead of time and found myself 6th in line. The line is so long, and the folks who order their food aren't a particular priority, that I was waiting 15 minutes before writing this entire review. And I'm still in line. Look, I get it. I've been to one or two Mediterranean places similar to this, so when I was at Town Center, I wanted to make sure I could try CAVA. My biggest issue is the protein options, there's no red meat. And I'm sorry, but roasted vegetables and sweet potato are toppings, not proteins. But I got the grilled chicken and it was fine. They had a supergreens bar option that was really good and the addition of shredded Brussels sprouts added some nice texture. They don't have quite as many topping options as other places I've been to, but I especially liked the crazy feta and the tomato/cucumber salad. For the sauces, the garlic one was more of a creamy garlic and the staff was nice enough to let me try it. It was a little heavier than what I wanted. But the lemon herb tahini was light and flavorful. The shkug sauce had a nice cilantro flavor, but I expected a lot more heat. This is a fine fast casual option that allows customers to eat healthy. CAVA does it well, but they don't necessarily do it the best. read more

While on travel earlier in the week we stopped by the Cava in Towner Center, Virginia Beach VA and ordered the sweet & spicy chicken pita and it was delicious, bring your appetite. Food came out quickly and hot. Service was friendly, and staff were helpful for a first timer. I will definitely put this on my list for lunch on future travels. Three solid times I've tried Cava and am now a convert. My son ordered Cava twice for me during quarantine. Apparently they have them up north and he loves it! I get overstimulated with extensive menus so thank goodness he knew exactly what & how to order. Today, I ordered on the app all by myself for curbside pickup and did alright!!! :) I love Greek food so the flavors, in my opinion, is like a Greek Salad on steroids. Between all of the base, proteins, toppings, dips, and sides one can choose from, the flavors and price point is totally worth it. Service during curbside was exceptional. A kind employee named Crystal answered the phone & immediately delivered the order to my car. The meatballs and pita chips are the devil. Sooooo delicious!!! To offset(ha!), I load up on veggies, keep my dips on the side, and use as needed. What's cool is the app shows how many total calories will be consumed! Really delicious food. Basically think Chipotle for Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food: pitas, rice bowls, and salad bowls make up the menu exclusively where you then choose from any number of sauces, veggies, and a protein of your choice. I enjoyed the food quite a bit; though I think the price point was high for the quantity. Ultimately, I can't justify a $12 pita or salad bowl regularly and that's before a drink. The service at this location was... unenthusiastic to say the least. I felt like I was bothering them. I did like that the silverware was reusable, however the bowls were not. I think for long-term sustainability they should go to washable bowls if you plan on dining in. Worth stopping by for lunch, just not that often if your budget is anything like mine. read more

So during the quarantine I've been getting to try alot of places that were normally to busy to try. Every time i drove by Cava before, there were always alot of people. So I'd always just pass on by. Lol. So i went online and did a curbside order. It was easy to order and they have alot of yummy toppings and sauces. I ordered a Grains bowl, with saffron rice, meatballs, tomatoes and onions, pickled onions, eggplant hummus, red pepper hummus, and spicy feta. Then i also had a cup of dill sauce and garlic sauce on the side... The bowl didn't look like much at first, but once you stir it and mix all the sauces in, it takes you to another level. Those hummus dips are hands down fantastic!! Each and every one of them. I enjoyed the bowl so much i went back. Lol. The best part was those pita chips on the side. They were the best I've ever had. I've had tons of pita chips, but the seasoning on theirs is something magical... No lie!! Lol. I also had the chocolate chip cookie which i was disappointed with. The texture and taste were unappealing to me. Its like a cookie I've never had before, i can't explain it, but i won't get it again. Thats my only complaint. Yum - Yum -Yum! Clean and healthy eating. So many different ways to create your pita or bowl. There isn't a lot of seatings, a lot of 2 seater tables and window bar seatings. So when it gets crowded your meal may whine up being a To-Go order instead. The drinks are on the side and I love that some of their teas are unsweetened. I have been waiting for Hampton Roads to get a Cava and my prayers have been answered! It's popular in Northern VA and DC. Mediterranean cuisine that you order at the counter over a glass partition. Easy to customize and they have vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and soy free (see picture of chart found on menu that spells out what is what). The line moves quick and the food is well worth it so don't be discouraged. I get the greens + grains bowl and my choice is spinach and brown rice. It comes with a mini pita on the side and then you choose your protein and toppings. I definitely recommend the diced cucumbers and pita crisps. Love the crunch! They also have an app which makes ordering easy and you won't feel rushed looking at the various topping options! Might as well get some reward points because you will definitely want to return. Another thing I like about Cava is they care about the environment. If you are eating at the restaurant then they put your meal in a washable bowl. They have plastic and metal silverware options and paper and plastic straws. So do your part and eat inside to reduce waste. The to go containers look to be biodegradable though. The drink selection is great too! They freshly brew the teas and other drinks like lemonade. Try mixing them for an even more unique flavor. I mixed Blueberry Lavender with Classic Lemonade because the lavender smell was a little too strong for me. There is outdoor seating available for when the weather is nice and plenty of seating inside. It can get loud in here so be sure to speak up when ordering. The employees were very friendly and helpful. They know a lot of people in the area aren't familiar with the menu so don't be afraid to ask questions. Believe the hype, CAVA is legit. Excellent CYO mediterranean meal: choose a Base (salad, grains, lentils or a combination), add Dips/spreads, select Proteins (combining is ok, though some premium items like lamb cost extra), pick unlimited Toppings and dressings. On 2 recent visits, 2 days apart, I opted for mixed salad/lentils with chicken. It didn't disappoint! Especially enjoyed the textures and temperatures that created a fork full of goodness in every bite; huge fan of the green Skhug sauce (mmmm cilantro). Fresh, we'll seasoned/flavorful ingredients at fair market value with zero guilt. Most employees were friendly as they're also learning the ins and outs of their new place. Wished cashier was actively promoting cava app; I learned about it after I already paid, losing potential rewards for return visits. Speaking of, evening visits (pre covid19) have longer lines with challenges to find seating, especially for parties over 4. Gender specific restrooms are present, though they're small and may require braving the order line to access. Shared parking lot offers decent close proximity spaces. Contemporary Zen decor was bright and welcoming, though serenity tends to be defeated by the need to exit so others could have a place to sit. read more

My friend raved about Cava, she said it's Mediterranean Chipotle. She was right! It's pretty good for a quick bowl or wrap and lots of customizations. The VB location on VB Blvd next to B&N was swimming with people, bother customers and staff. The restaurant was mostly clean. There was a big trash can and various crap in the hall by the bathrooms. Bathroom was decent. I wasn't scared to pee there but the TP was hard to pull out, due to being stocked incorrectly or someone yanked the top roll to sit on the bottom one. The water pressure in the sink was sad and it took a while to rinse my hands. Service was fine, most the workers were teens getting folks through the line. I easily got a bowl with chicken and lots of toppings. It tasted nice but my chicken could of been warmer. The saffron rice was great with the black lentils and held up with the toppings. Neither the spicy hummus or harissa were that spicy. It was fairly healthy, but seemed processed in some aspects. They are more climate conscious than some restaurants. Everytime I place a pickup order at this location, 9/10 times one or more items are missing from my order. Order half chicken and half lamb, order comes with no chicken and only lamb. Order fiery broccoli and roasted corn, just corn and no broccoli. Half the time they forget the pita bread and utensils. My large family of 12 had a wonderful time here. We have been long time fans of CAVA but have never seen one quite like this one. with the variety of ages in the family everyone had something to order and the service was cleanly and organized. The general manager must have had it really under control. Any management should focus on the atmosphere and the light of a restaurant which it is clear the management here did. My kids beg to go to this CAVA specifically every day after track practice. We have gotten to know the management and staff and it really is a lovely place. A friend took me here the other night as I really enjoy Mediterranean food. I was super impressed with the variety and the incredible flavors each item I got had. I decided on a bowl as that was his recommendation. I filled it with spicy lamb meatballs, harissa honey chicken, Mediterranean cucumbers, Kalamata olives, hummus, taziki, feta, saffron basmati rice, pickled red onions, some kind of tomato and onion salsa. For dressing I enjoyed the Mediterranean vinaigrette and also enjoyed a piece of pita. All the items I got in my bowl were outstanding. I loved how all the flavors mixed so beautifully with each other. I think I have found my new favorite restaurant. I also enjoyed the simple ambiance. I was just shocked when she said that to me. I didn't respond because I was not sure if she was okay or not. You might want to hire a person to clean the tables and sweep during rush hour.
