#34/2020 Love, love, love! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful! At the time of my visit, I wasn't expecting a crowd because it was past the lunch rush on a weekday however it was busy! I used the handy, small menu cards posted on the half wall before entering the line to help me put together my order. The Grain + Greens Bowl was perfect for me. At first I didn't think it would be enough food but it held me over for a long time. I opted to try half grilled chicken and honey chicken among other tasty toppings. My favorite sauces are tzatziki, Greek dressing, and hummus. Oh, and their pita (both soft and fried? baked?) is bomb!!! Can't wait to try everything else over & over! I appreciate their efforts to use recycled items while encouraging customers to recycle their trash. For example, the forks are made from plant starch. Even though paper straws aren't my favorite, you can request regular plastic straws from staff. Download their app where you can also place orders ahead for pickup inside from the shelf labeled alphabetically. I don't think it's a great place for large groups as most tables are for 2-4 guests but I noticed bench seating if you can snag some of it if you have more than 4 in your group. Cava, welcome to the 757. I am so glad I am within a 10 minute drive to this place. Cava is one of the BEST fast casual restaurants you will EVER dine in at or do take out. The food here is fresh, undeniably delicious and highly addicting. You think you know flavor explosion? You've never been to Cava before then. Cava is the equivalent to Chipotle, but with Mediterranean food. You go down a cafeteria style like line and choose your base, dressings, protein, toppings, etc to create your perfect dish. Below are my go to selections. Base: grains or pita Dips/Spread: try out all their dips and spread, they are all unique and very tasty- they give samples if you don't know what something tastes like! Protein: their braised lamb is freaking delicious and I am never getting any other protein here. It's tender and it's well seasoned all around. I need this recipe ASAP. Toppings: cucumber and feta Tip: you HAVE to get the Pita Crisps. These are soooooo good. I wish they came in a larger size. Their garlic dressing is something I can put on anything. Their juices are also very good; try mixing some of their flavors. Their space here is a little bit small but that's probably because everyone and their mom is trying to come here. Good grief I love CAVA. I was thrilled to see it come to Virginia Beach because it's the best thing ever and now we don't need to drive to Richmond or Arlington to eat it. I pretty much eat the same thing every time. Greens + Grains with half SpendidGreens, half Saffron Basmati, and then toppings, roasted veggies, and harissa yogurt. It just makes my veggie loving heart so freaking happy. And the Blueberry Lavender juice - just call me Veruca Salt and roll me out the door because I drank all of it (kidding...maybe). My husband goes for their pita and always sings its high praises. The new shop is a great space. My only gripe is that it was really loud and hard to hear when someone was talking to me (high ceilings, open seating will do that), but I got over it quickly, because it's delicious. I wish I could give zero stars. This restaurant is the worst, most mismanaged establishment i have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Everyone on the team should fired immediately. I don't usually leave reviews, but the service here is beyond terrible. I swore this location off last year and thought I'd give it another try. Nope same result. Placed an order online 45 minutes prior and still have to wait in the store for 30 minutes to receive food that I paid almost 50 dollars for. They seem to always be out of meat and waiting for more to be prepared. I will absolutely never visit another Cava again. 4 years ago, we went to Tyson's Corner mall and saw CAVA with a long line so we didn't bother going in.... now I know why! Their food is perfection! I got basmati rice (grain) with braised lamb and roasted vegetables (protein) with harissa, crazy feta, and tzatziki (dip/spread) a whole bunch of different toppings topped with lemon tahini sauce. Like I said, PERFECTION! Will def be my go to spot in town center now. The place has your usual hipster vibe. You'll be in line Chipotle style (lol) and would probably worry a bit if you suffer from anxiety if you'd have a spot to sit when you finally get your food. You may or may not, to be honest, so for me, I just tell them I want it to go just Incase there's no seats available, I can just bring it to my car and eat in silence with my beau. It's a self seating place so you find a seat, you sit there and eat, then you get your ish, clean up your area, and bring your dirty dish to the dirty dishes station and go on about your biz. Visited 2 weeks ago. We recently moved to the area, and were excited to see CAVA. We have been to CAVA all over the state of Virginia, and they have been terrific. One of our favorite restaurants! You can imagine how disappointed we were to find the employees acting like we were unwelcome during our entire visit. They gave so little food, we were wondering if they had to pay for it themselves. One particular female employee even argued with us about the amount of food we requested. We were wondering if it may have been a racial issue (we are white), since we had never been treated with such disrespect at any other CAVA location. This is normally the Cava we go to however I am beginning to see Landstown's Cava is a better choice. When we lived in San Diego, we loved a spot called Luna Grill and have been looking for a replacement! Well we found that place and I would even say that this place is better than Luna Grill! The wife and I have always enjoyed CAVA and we tend to get the same dishes everytime. Years ago, this would be a 5 star review. The taste and quality has always been first rate, however this review is addressing the downward spiral in quantity we've experienced. The rice bowls and pitas used to be filled and a good amount of meat and add ons. Within the last year or so, the bowls and pita sizes have seemed quite chintzy. Also noticed at one point, they started charging for a take out bag, however a recent online order appears again to be free of charge. The dressings used to come in small containers and at some point, they started adding it to your meal for you. Thankfully, they now offer an option on how you would like your dressing. We still eat there occasionally and that is only because we keep hoping the quantity of food goes back to the way it used to be. read more

Love me some CAVA! It is one of our favorite fast casual restaurants whenever we visit the DC area. When I heard that CAVA was opening a location in Virginia Beach, I let out a loud WHOOP!!! The food is flavorful and a great combination of textures. It is basically everything that that other famous SoCal-influenced fast casual burrito place wishes it could be. So, why only a 4-star review? Because the layout of this location is absolutely insane! During busy times (which, considering how good CAVA is, should be often), the foot traffic can be described as a one-way spiral. It is easy to get in, place your order, and get to a table, but if you have to get up to use the bathroom or refill your drink, you are guaranteed to be fighting against traffic no matter which path you choose. Not good! Fix the layout, and this is a 5-star joint! read more
