It was just okay as it was a bit to salty for me (I got the braised lamb topping).Nothing that really blew my mind away and would make me rush back for more in a hurry in the near future.The lavender lemonade was very good though and the pita bread was nice and warm with a soft and chewy texture! Again, I cannot stress enough good customer service. Even though an eatery/restaurant centers around the food they serve, if the customer service is lacking in any aspect, it can taint how a customer views that particular restaurant. This location exhibits the absolute best customer service I have ever received in Silver Spring. Belardo (honestly I'm 100% sure I have misspelled his name) is exceptional. He truly puts 200% into making sure your food, ordering experience, etc., is the absolute best. Cava has always been a favorite of mine. You get lots of food in your bowl and it's always delicious. The only thing I didn't like about this location is that there was no menu hanging up on the wall - instead I had to read off a paper menu that I at first couldn't even find because it was in a rack on the wall that wasn't easily noticeable. I really did enjoy their outdoor seating because I could listen to the music playing in the public area next door. Overall good experience at this location. read more

Amazing first time at Cava Grill! The staff were so helpful and patient while I made my grain bowl selections - all of the ingredients were so fresh and tasty! I got the lamb meatballs as my protein and they were amazing! Silver Spring is like a 30min drive for me, but that won't stop me - I will definitely be back!!! Cava has a variety of fresh and tasty Mediterranean inspired offerings for carnivores and vegetarians alike. It's nice to have plenty of veggie options that aren't all salads. I'm a big fan of their falafel pita with crazy feta and harissa (spicy), plenty of veggies (tomato onion salad, cabbage, and pickled onions) and yogurt dill sauce to cool the burn. I also love the variety of fresh juices available. I tried the blueberry rosemary for the first time today and will definitely be getting it again. Cava's prices are on par with other fast casual restaurants in Downtown Silver Spring, and I'm happy to pay it because the food is fantastic! read more

This is the location I frequent if I'm in the area. Tonight I went and was very agitated. The person who made my food wore gloves. By the time my bowl had sauce added, the cashier, who naturally wasn't using gloves because they were handling money, moved from the register and after focusing on what another customer needed, placed his bare hands on the top and then put that same top on my food. There were 3 staff focusing on one customer instead of paying attention to all paying customers. read more

Love everything about this place! The greens and grain bowl is my go to. The black lentils are wonderful. The sauces are delicious! I love having a healthy place to go to while on the run. Line moves at a snails pace, not sure what this was due to, but i waited in line for 40 minutes and it wasn't even that long! Then they were "out" of lamb so i was told it would take "5 minutes" waited another 25 minutes, and i finally gave up and asked for my refund. That took another 10-15 minutes. This was by far the WORST food experience that i've ever had. And the staff is rude, no apologies, only a "what do you want me to do?" I finally spoke with the manager to get my money back and finally received an apology, and he tried to give me a free meal pass, to which i declined as i would never give this place my business again, after such a horrendous first experience, but i thanked him and left. I really like Cava, but I'm not sure what is going on with this location as things are very, very inconsistent compared to other locations I've dined at. I was excited for this location to open also as it is within walking distance from where I am at. However, it's mostly been a disappointment. The majority of the time I've been here, things are a disorganized mess. The staff seems untrained and clueless and has no idea how to tell customers what the various ingredients are in order to keep the line moving. Instead, it's a deer-in-the-headlights look, or the staff members randomly leave their station without warning or explanation. When this happens, the line comes to a grinding halt and people get frustrated. There is no reason it should be like this, especially considering customer service is better at the other locations I've been to. The other consistent problem here is cleanliness and keeping things in order. Things are better when I see someone on duty that is dedicated to cleaning, but there isn't always someone here to take care of that. When there isn't, the tables are filthy, drinks are out, there is no ice, the little spill catchers for drinks are overflowing and there is trash all over the area where you get utensils. Usually when I see this there are employees standing around acting clueless or gossiping. I don't know if it's a management or employee issue or what, but I hope the corporate folks are taking a look at what is going on. I even contacted them once to complain, but I'm not sure they care since this place is still full of problems. Seriously, a couple times we just went to the Bethesda location to eat instead of this one even though this is much more conveniently located for me. I think that says something, and I'd recommend other people do the same if you have a choice, at least until this place gets things sorted out. read more

LOVE this new Cava! Cava is a great, healthy, sustainable new resturant and they have suuuuuuuch good food. I love getting a rice bowl with spinach, chicken, feta, hummus and tatziki (and OF COURSE the pickled cucumbers!). They have such a friendly staff BUT I do wish that they made ordering a little easier for newbies. We are so excited Cava has opened! Edward and the rest of the team, are helpful, friendly and professional. The braised lamb is delicious and the food is always fresh. The entire office loves all the different juice flavors. Lemon Tahini dressing is the way to go. I have tried both bowls and pita wrap and it is a great lunch either way!
