I really like this place. Always get the half greens and half grains bowl with a side of pita bread. I've tried the chicken protein, which is really yummy and the healthier option. Whenever somebody says, "I wish we had an In 'n Out, or ____, or _____," I am the first person to respond, "But then you wouldn't be excited to go there when you visit California (or wherever)." But guess what. I WISH WE HAD A CAVA. Oh man. I came here for lunch today, and the only flaw hit me in the face right out of the gate: I had no idea what was going on. There was a menu board, but that didn't really clarify what was about to happen when I stepped up to order (Sign heading: "BUILD IT!" Haley: "What exactly is it that we're building...?"). The line was insanely long and the employees weren't particularly helpful. Nothing was well labeled. I watched what the woman in front of me was doing and basically copied her. Here's what I ended up with: A big bowl of brown rice with red pepper hummus, tzatziki, feta dip, roasted seasonal vegetables (sweet potato, mushrooms, and zucchini), lettuce, cabbage slaw, white bean salad, feta cheese, tabbouleh, and spicy apricot dressing. It. Was. AMAZING. Like, I'm in DC for the next 10 days and I want to go there every day, amazing. CAVA offers a whole host of house made lemonades and teas as well as independent soda, and I had fun trying all of the different kinds of lemonade. My favorites were the strawberry citrus and watermelon mint. I kind of wanted pita or falafel or braised lamb meatballs with my meal today, but nobody asked and I felt rushed through the line (for good reason. There were literally 40 people behind me, waiting to eat and return to work). Next time, I'm going to be ready. I'll tell the guys behind the counter exactly what I want, not that anything I order could possibly end up with the food I selected at random today. read more

I used to love CAVA, but I feel like the prices are consistently rising and this location which is closest to home is disappointing. This location frequently seems to be out of certain toppings after about 8:00pm. Greens and grains is a nice option to have some carbs, but not a full portion. I do like the seasonal aspect that has some changing menu items and their interesting juices are always tasty. It is also not as healthy as it seems when you go online to the nutritional calculator and add up your bowl. For this type of a meal, we now enjoy Mezeh more. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! My wife has a gluten allergy, and I was really apprehensive to ask for new dips because they were busy. The manager pulled me aside then gave her new dips - because the utensils can't cross-contaminate - and I thought it was a great gesture that helped us that evening. The next time I came back, not only did the manager remember my name (and our order), but he also explained that he trained his staff to use new utensils and dips if they know that somebody has a gluten allergy. I appreciated that he went and did the right thing to permanently solve the problem. Updated review...improved portions. My wife and daughter have been sneaking Cava when I'm out of town so I figured I'd give this location another shot. Portions were way better, plenty for a satisfying dinner. Flavors and mix of selections are always great. Officially putting Cava back in the rotation. Food tastes good, but they always mess up my order. I'm always missing items in my order and they add extra toppings that I didn't ask for. They never add the right dressings in my bowl either. Whenever I walk in to pick up my order the staff are always busy on their phones. I've gone to a few Cava locations and Reston's is the worst. I do not recommend Reston Cava. read more

Frankly a subway type middle eastern place intimidated me....so I ordered on their app and played around with the choices til my hearts content for my falafel sandwich...when I got there they had it all ready and then they gave me a cup for their juices which was like 5 varieties....I ate in the mostly empty restaurant and omg the freakin sandwich and watermelon mint juice was amazing!!! The first experience, they were extremely helpful after a very stressful day. My wife had been in a car accident on her way to get our kids. After picking her up and the PD taking forever to find her car, we were finally able to pick up the kids, and get to Cava, close to closing. They were happy to serve us and we got it to go so we didn't cause more cleanup time for the workers. It was great food and we have been back many times since. read more

Cava is my favorite "fast and casual" make-your-own place. I give it a 4.5 stars because as much as I love it, the various locations and staff make it difficult to ensure consistent service *and* some of the portion sizes disappoint me. For example, it took me maybe four visits to Cava before someone told me at a new location (thank you Sterling, no thanks Fairfax) that a greens and grains bowl comes with a pita. I don't like how you only get five meatballs or that the vegetables are extra and not counted as part of the base. It simply doesn't make sense to me. And place to place, they vary some veggie prep so if you're particular about that, the way they chop veggies might change. But...I love Cava. I have my order 85% down to a science and leave the rest to some moderate experimentation. It's delicious and the Reston location has been good to me besides inconsistent portioning. You can always ask to sample various toppings or meats or grain options, and the staff are accommodating and patient. I like the setup here and especially enjoy that it is separate from RTC, dodging the parking hassle. If only Cava had wifi and upped it to six meatballs an order...it would be pretty much perfect. read more

Just drove by this place and wow, unexpectedly good. I ordered the Mini Pita and Soup. Greek Minestrone (with Harissa) soup was spicy but with a smooth flavorful finish. I built my own pita which was solid. The wife ordered a salad and grain bowl with falafel meatballs and they were really good. Check this place out! read more

Okay, I love Cava. But this Cava needs improvement. I know they just opened, but the concept is similar to many other restaurants, and the line moves incredibly slow. I've been here three times since they've opened and had nearly the same experience. The pitas have been hard and burnt; and the service has been slow and incoherent. The majority of the staff doesn't engage or make any eye contact, and most recently, they were out of pickled onion - the employee told me they were going to get more, and then failed to tell me until 5 minutes later that they weren't ready yet. Yesterday, in particular, they were out of forks, and the cashier hands me a tub of them (which yes, I restocked myself). Yes, their food is good, but this Cava is lacking in comparison to the others in the area. read more

It was cold but I wanted something not super heavy that would fill me up so I stopped in here. It was pretty crowded but the servers made sure to have the kind go by quickly. The employees were nice and made sure to confirm the ingredients that were going into the bowl. At the end I got extra falafel which didn't end up being too expensive. Not sure how much it was extra but probably no more than $2. After I paid I went to the drink section and picked up a fork to head out. Though I had to drive 10 mins away my food was still warm and tasted great. Will be visiting again for sure. read more

I normally love CAVA and I am happy to support restaurants trying to stay in business during these challenging times. I placed my online order at 6:30 and I was there (on time) for my 6:45pm pickup. I called to let them know I arrived (at 6:45pm) in the described vehicle, parked directly in front of entrance doors. The CAVA employee on the phone said, "We'll be out in 1 second with your order" -- so I waited, and watched customers walk in, place thier orders, pay and walk our over the next 15 minutes. Another car arrived and an employee brought out the delivery after verifying the license plate with the order, and so I asked about my food (Name, Order#)... disappointingly, my order was sitting on the counter the entire time. To make matters worse (just disappointing) was that the 2 bowls I ordered were only half full as compared to normal full bowls. Therefore, my 5-Star love for CAVA has been reduced to only a 1-Star like on this occasion. I'll take my business elsewhere for now and return at a later time, plenty of other restaurants to visit. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION Just went in around 9:40pm today (Tuesday). I went in and the store was pretty empty. 2 guys sweeping and 1 girl making food/running the cash register. The guy in front of me had his hands over the glass the whole time pointing to what he wanted almost touching each ingredient. Was pretty annoyed the girl didn't ask him to keep his hands away from the food. Then after she rang him up touching the register buttons she didn't even change her gloves. She came over to me and stuck her dirty glove thumb into a new bowl and asked what I wanted. GROSS! I walked out saying I suddenly wasn't hungry and she looked confused and politely said have a good night. A few months ago I was at this location for lunch and I noticed the guy making online orders/curbside delivery and wasn't changing his gloves after making the food and operating the front door to walk outside and drop the food and come back inside. DONT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS LOCATION!!!! I haven't ordered from CAVA online since that day. They stopped accepting cash in the name of covid cleanliness but can't even change gloves after touching the door or cash register buttons? In no way am I a germaphobe BTW not even close. Have had many good experiences at many different cava's but this location needs to teach their employees that once you touch something dirty with your gloves....the gloves are now dirty. You would expect my review to critique CAVA's food quality and service but my wife and I did not even get that far. We have eaten a couple of time in the Vienna CAVA and generally the food and service were fine. We decided to give the Reston location a try the other day and only got several feet inside when we realized that the noise level was off the charts. How anyone could have a conversation with another is beyond me and getting instructions from your servers also no very easy. We left CAVA and will not go back because the atmosphere is anything but relaxed. A perfect place for Gallaudet University students but that's about it. read more

I always get a to-go here at Reston CAVA. No complaints on the taste or quality of food here. But recently I have found that they have reduced the quantity by at least 30%. Not sure if this is the case with every location or just this one. Will try a different place to check it out. read more

I am so excited about this place. Besides the convenience of ordering online amd being ready when requested, the menu is fantastic. There is something for everyone. The pita is too full to eat without being messy. The soup, I am not too fond of as it seems more like a liquid topping to something, but still not terrible. This is my favorite place to buy my lunch! I am addicted to this place. Every ingredient is made in house. All the greens and toppings are fresh. It is very healthy and fulfilling. You can choose to order a greens and grains bowl, just greens or grains bowl. I would suggest you come to the restaurant the first time you purchase so you can see all the ingredients that go into each bowl and then order through the CAVA app afterwards which I always do. You can choose the time you want to pick up your food and that's it. Don't come in earlier than the time you chose to pick up because most probably it won't be ready. The only downfall about this place is Parking. It is very hard to find parking but the food is super good! read more

My first time here, and I must say I'm very impressed. The food was of excellent quality and service was top notch. I was a little unsure of what to order, but the employees were so helpful in helping me decide. I also love how accommodating this place is. You can create your bowl exactly the way you want it (yes, even you paleo, keto, non-dairy, etc etc people!). I added extra veggies to my lamb meatballs, which by the way were SO tasty! This is a great place if you want a healthy and quick meal. Also great if you want to reduce carbs, because there are lots of veggie options and you can essentially create your own delicious salad. I have no complaints. The food is always good. Fast service, great employees. I don't find the food expensive for what you're getting. I think people forget that healthy food costs more. McDonald's prices gets you McDonald's unhealthy. I get all the veggies offered in the salad, chicken, and 2 hummus and it's less than $11. I think people just like to complain. read more

This build your own meal is wonderful! The food options are all delicious. The line goes fast and even during the busy lunch hour I was sitting down with my food in minutes.
