Came to Cava today for their soft opening and it was amazing! Similar to The Simple Greek, it's a Mediterranean fast food joint - sort of like Blaze/Chipotle but for Mediterranean food! The concept is pretty easy - pick a base (grains - rice, lentils, greens - several mixes, or both!), a protein, some add ons like hummus, toppings of your choice and some sauces to top it off! I did lentils and arugula, braised lamb, hummus, eggplant, several toppings and yogurt dill sauce! Delicious! The bowls start are around $10 which is a little pricey but it's a lot of food so I think it's worth it even for lunch! I had previously seen Cava in other places like DC so I'm glad I tried it and I'm glad they're opening up another one on Wake a Forest Road by my house! read more

I stumbled upon CAVA on the way to another restaurant in Cameron village. A promoter stopped me and told me that it was their opening day and all of the meals were free. I was a little skeptical but I gave it a try, and I was I in for a treat! You start with a greens, rice, or lentil base or some combination of those. I added chicken and roasted vegetables for protein. There were so many amazing options for toppings and dressing and the ones I tried (hummus, harissa, Greek vinaigrette, tabouli) were delicious. I would definitely recommend getting a side of pita and the strawberry mint lime drink to round off a perfect lunch! The customer service was amazing and all of the workers were knowledgeable and accommodating. The atmosphere is hip and casual. The decor is modern and simple. Outside seating is available. Went here for their soft opening and their staff was so friendly! This was my first time at any CAVA and it lived up to the hype. I got the Greens and Grains bowl with saffron basmati rice and braised lamb. WARNING for those sensitive to spice, the harissa is hot and spicy. The pita on the side was nice and fluffy, but held its form so it was perfect for dipping/picking up all the last bits of goodness. Their drinks are really unique too. I got the strawerry mint lemonade, but I'd really like to try the ginger iced drink they had as well! The average price for a bowl is around $10, but they do give you a lot of good quality food. Oh my gosh I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Seriously, I even emailed them asking them to open a location closer to my house as Cameron Village is really far away from me. Mediterranean food is always so fresh and flavorful and this place does not disappoint. You go down the line building your meal like at Chipotle or Your Pie. I chose the grains and greens option so I got a bowl of mixed greens and basmati rice and topped that with grilled chicken, hummus, veggies, and an amazing green harissa sauce. So good!! The portions are huge too, so it took me two days to eat my bowl. I never order drinks at restaurants but I was so excited that they have the drink machine that has cane sugar sodas. They also have the infused juices like at Gusto. I had a delicious strawberry mint drink! And I love that they have crushed ice! I cannot wait to visit Cava again and really really hope they open close to me! read more

I've been here 3 or 4 times, usually on a weekday and had no issues with service, portions or anything. I came here on a Saturday at 3pm and, granted, the line was long, but as a previous food service employee, the portions today weren't even worth $10, let alone $13. My sister and I paid extra for Harissa chicken and several people had already asked the man working the meat station to give them the portion of food they're paying for. It seemed almost as if he wasn't trained before today but I absolutely would not have paid for this if the line wasn't as long. It seemed like they were just checking off boxes to get the line out of the door. I've already discussed never coming back on a weekend simply because of how little I received for the money I paid. The man didn't know the answer the question people asked several times because of him only putting half a scoop of chicken as a whole serving: How much is an extra scoop? i have been here a number of times, and every visit is more disappointing. the staff is so extremely rude, it is honestly hard to order. they are snappy and refuse to give out correct portion sizes. one lady in particular (who might be a manager?) will barely even say a word and when you can't understand her she will just say it again in a pissed off tone & louder. there is one older man who is the nicest person ever and a blessing to have. it's just so bad unless he is taking the order. no matter the time, the staff members will try to ruin ur day. it doesn't matter if they are closing, opening, or in the middle of shift, the attitude is always the same... a problem. corporate needs to come and teach the staff how to correctly speak, because it is so frustrating paying 15 dollars for one scoop of rice and a nasty look. read more

I love Cava but this particular one is way too busy! I ordered a online order for pickup and when I got there, I waited over an hour along with about 20 other people! They won't let you cancel your order or go through the line because you've already paid. My food was cold once I got it. If you go here don't order online and just go through the line. The staff is NOT helpful and have bad attitudes but I can understand their frustrations as well because of how busy it is! read more

AMAZINGLY GOOD! A Co-worker introduced me to this place and I am so glad she did. It's healthy, it's fresh, is bursting with flavors!! I will be back to try some of the other meats. I got the lemon chicken bowl and I put it over the greens and grains. I loved it! Also, I had strawberry mint lemonade that was fantastic. I have wanted to come here for quite some time because of their fresh, healthy offerings. I was definitely NOT disappointed! I ordered their garden and grain bowl with super greens and brown basmati rice. For my protein, chicken. For the dips/spreads I got roasted red pepper hummus, harissa (my new love), and tzatziki. The dressing was the lemon herb tahini, and then I added a ton of veggies and a bit of feta. This bowl had so much flavor in every single bite, and it's great that they give you different options with your dips and spreads so your tastebuds never get bored. It was also reasonably priced and came with a ton of food - I had plenty of leftovers for dinner the next day. It's a good thing this place isn't too close or I would probably go broke eating here every day :) I will definitely be back soon! read more

Really good spot! Basically a Mediterranean Chipote with lots of vegan options and an extra splash of hippy, with fair trade fountain drinks, paper straws, and plant based starch utensils. The food always tastes great, no issue there. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ordering online at all at ANY location. Your order is ALWAYS missing ingredients, and little to no food in the bowl. Think of CAVA as a chipotle but instead of Mexican it is Greek, and the topping options are greater in number, fresher, tastier, and without up-charge. CAVA is healthy, quick, reasonably priced, and delicious. I generally get almost all of the offered ingredients/toppings but based on the specific combinations the type of bowl/pita you get can vary greatly. Get the app for bonuses. Gets busy at lunch and parking is a nightmare. read more

It was fine, I wouldn't call it amazing though. The tzatziki was too sweet and in general I found the food to be a tad on the blander side if it wasn't sweet rather than savoury (which is what I expected). The falafel was fine and the lamb meatballs were fine but not exceptional. The music was too loud making it hard to hear and talk to the staff when ordering and difficult to hear my friend talking while we were eating. Also, I think the lock to the women's bathroom needs to be checked. It has the vacant/in-use sign but it wouldn't move when the lock was turned. I hope that gets fixed. read more

Good spot for a fast, Middle-Eastern inspired meal! Cava has plenty of unique proteins, greens, and toppings to customize your bowl. The fresh mint mixed in at the end added another dimension and flavor to my meal. The harissa was the star of my bowl- perfectly spicy and great for dipping pita. The setup is Chipotle -ish but that is where the resemblance ends. This elevates the aforementioned choices and quality.
