The food here is always very good, and the new layout of the restaurant is very nice since it recently got remodeled to have a more modern inside.
I love Cava, and I was so stoked to find out that there is one so close to where I normally am during the week. Unfortunately, this location does not meet expectations. So many things fell below normal expectations of Cava: service was awful; portion was small; taste was lacking; missing side pita (LOL)! The best thing about this location is that the parking is free in the garage, just gotta find a spot! There was no greeting when you come in and walk up to the service line; not really a big stickler for this, especially if it's busy. It is telling, though, with the rest of the experience. The server that was helping me was okay: she wasn't mean, per se, but I could feel the attitude. She was really stingy: I would ask for a double scoop on something and she would do 2-quarter scoops so I essentially get 1/2 a scoop total. It's very comical; it was like she didn't think I would notice. The whole dish was so bland; where mediterranean food is normally bursting with flavor, the grain bowl literally did not taste like anything. The pita strips was so stale and not crunchy at all. There's no need to try this location. I would opt for a different restaurant or a different location.
Cava had great service. It gives off a speak easy cool ambiance. Walter and tety are one of my favorite workers they always are attentive and patient with customers. Love the food always fresh would definitely recommend for a hangout spot
I love CAVA. It is a great place to pickup, and it is priced pretty well. I typically get a bowl with white rice and arugula, two tzatziki dips and one crazy feta, chicken, pickled onions, tomato and cucumber, tomato and onion, cabbage slaw, cucumber slices, pita crisps, feta, the hot harissa vinaigrette, and the yogurt dill dressing. I also like the harissa honey chicken, which has really great flavor, but it does cost a little extra, so I don't always get it. The only reason I decided to give this place 4 stars is because they sometimes forget things, like they forgot my sauces for my pickup order (I ordered them on the side), which was disappointing. Also, they can be pretty inconsistent with portion sizes. Overall, CAVA is a great place to grab a relatively healthy dinner quickly.
We come here only because it's the closest Cava to us. However, there's a huge difference in quantity when we dine in vs when ordering ahead for pickup. The portions for pickup are quite sad. Not to mention, I always select to utilize a bag and yet, the food is never in a bag and we have to always ask once we're there. Stingy! Lastly - more often than not, the salad leaves tend to be bruised/not as fresh as other locations.
Great portions for a good price! Really cool inside environment. Clean and quick service.
Standard to other CAVAs. I enjoy the different unique juice options here. Clean space and nice workers. Also convenient to order from the app and pick up. The pita chips are addicting and I never leave without an order of them. I enjoy their chicken and meatballs and the variety of sauces and options you can choose to make your bowl. You can either do all rice or half rice/half salad or all salad. Similar to Chipotle where you can see the options and you tell the staff what you'd like. Fast and makes me feel somewhat healthy when I come here.

Cava is customizable. Cava is affordable. Cava makes you feel healthy. Cava is great. Enough said. In all honesty, at whichever location of Cava I visit, I know that my craving for delicious, wallet-friendly, hearty food will be satisfied. That's what is truly outstanding about this company. Many others have explained the simple, fast casual ordering process, so I will focus on some of the highlights. (1) If you're going for a bowl, get the greens + grains! For nothing extra, you add color, crunch, and nutrition to your meal. (2) Spicy harissa dip is the best. A little goes a long way. (3) Protein-wise, you can never go wrong with chicken. Cava also doesn't skimp at all. Thank you, Cava! (4) Choosing between the toppings? Don't. Get all of them at no extra cost. Who doesn't love the crunch of pickled salads of all kinds? (5) Use the complimentary pita that comes with the bowl option to make your own mini wraps or pockets. Save a piece at the end to mop up all of the last bits in your bowl for that final, fulfilling bite. In this day and age of ubiquitous fast casual, Cava also stands out from its peers by offering not only quick and affordable meals, but a dining experience that is also environmentally conscious. The cutlery are compostable, and Cava makes it a point to serve organic, naturally-raised foods. Thanks for looking out, Cava! I feel like Cava and I have become great friends through this process. And doesn't everyone in life just want that one friend to look out for you (and your hunger pangs)? Go visit your nearest Cava. Make a friend. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor. read more
I have been here twice now and my general feeling is it is more geared toward regulars. Both times I have visited it has been difficult to ask questions and even harder to get answers. I think the designer of the food assembly area should make a visit to &pizza. At &pizza they have the assembly options on the wall like at Cava but they also provide the information on the glass of the assembly area. When you are picking dips & spreads if you don't know them already you are just pointing and hoping. Same with the proteins (I did learn you can mix two if you want) and dressings. I really hope someone connected with this brand is reading this -- please use some lettering on the glass with the dips & spreads names, proteins, & dressings, PLEASE. I understand that once (if) I were to become a regular I would know this but after a long day which wrapped up with a blood donation I really wasn't up for ordering my dinner to be so complicated. How well received and welcomed I feel as a newer customer really makes a difference, at least to me and I can't think I am alone on this (I know my friend felt similarly). PLEASE visit &pizza. I appreciate that it will involve needing to clean the outside of the glass more often because folks will touch it when pointing but that fact also validates how much it will be used and the importance of it. I am certain folks will use and appreciate the information and an extra whip down or two will be worth it. I have been to multiple places that use this style of casual dining assembly and some do it much better than others. When you do it well folks feel welcomed when you don't there is a deer in the headlights feeling and folks are more likely to make rash decisions. Here is why that matters, one's first visit(s) impact if they will return and feeling welcomed vs feeling rushed & devalued when making selections plays a roll. My friend and I liked what we had. We split my bread. Neither one of knows why I got one and she did not although I did do a greens base. Oh, there are multiple greens options, which is great, but you know what would be greater? You guessed it, if they labeled them, luckily they are in large clear containers behind glass doors which could use some lettering so folks know their selection options. I realize I am harping on the labeling but I bet good labeling could make the process move more efficiently and during prime times this could make a real impact. It was a nice place to munch a good meal and chat with a friend. While I could become a fan I still don't know if I have tried a good combination for my taste buds. read more
Grand Opening 2/27! Cava is located next to Taylor, under Target. Cava Mezze is like a Greek/Mediterranean Chipotle. You can get a bowl of rice or tortilla and top it off with a protein (lamb, beef, chicken, falafel), sauces (tzatziki, hummus, spicy or regular salsa), and toppings (onions, olives, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, etc.) I'd suggest going with the rice bowl with lamb or beef and my favorite sauce is the tzatziki and spicy sauce. It's on the pricier side for fast food (~$8-10), but at least it's healthy! Service is quick too. The inside is clean and roomy, but there should be more tables, in my opinion! read more
I know it has been said time and time again, but this is indeed a GREEK CHIPOTLE! I love their fresh toppings, meats, and consistently friendly service! They never judge me for piling on as many toppings as I want :) You can get a loaded salad here for only 550 calories and be completely full afterwards! Or if you are feeling carby, I recommend the 3 pita choice because their pita bread is like little puffs of heaven. I usually pile my salad with these delicious toppings - highly recommend!!! - Mixed Greens - Harissa - Red pepper hummus - Crazy feta - Chicken - Cucumber salad - Cucumber and tomato salad - Tomatoes - Quinoa - Yogurt dill dressing Yumm-o! read more

Simply amazing. The Holy Grail of Mediterranean food!!!! After less than favorable experiences with Mediterranean food, I was ready to dismiss the thought of ever treading the same waters.... Until I was told by a friend that Cava is better than Chipotle (different kind of food, I know, but it's a favorite), and I had to put it to the test. And yes, it passed with flying colors. It's just so good... Naturally raised meats? I'm a fan. I essentially let the employee making my bowl put together my dish for me since I didn't know what to get, but I had the spicy lamb meatballs with it and it was bomb. Regarding drinks: make sure you try the vanilla bean limeade. Whoever decided to put vanilla in limeade deserves a medal. While in Northern VA, do yourself a favor and try Cava Mezze. I wish there was one in Columbia, MD. If you're reading this Cava directors, please get on that. I'll be your most loyal customer! read more
If I had enough money in the bank to afford eating out on a daily basis without feeling guilty about it, I would eat at Cava at least 4 times weekly. Unfortunately, I work in social services, which means many of my meals are made and consumed at home with far, far less deliciousness. We have been here a handful of times and they never disappoint. -We usually get the greens + grains bowls with supergreens and brown basmati rice. -Of the dips/spreads, our favorites are the crazy feta, harissa, and eggplant red pepper. -The meatballs are flavorful and juicy and delicious! -I'd skip the falafel here- it is pretty dry and flavorless in comparison to your other options! -As for the rest of the toppings, the more the better! We get most of them, but especially like the mint and pickled onions. -We love the lemon herb tahini or spicy harissa dressings to top the bowls off! Annd you cannot go wrong with any of their brightly colored unique juices either. Some of them are too sweet for our liking, but the apple jalapeño is SO yummy with the right amount of sweetness. Even the water here is delicious, infused with cucumber. For less than $10 at Cava, you can get a huge bowl of colorful, fresh, flavorful, absolutely delicious Mediterranean food. There are plenty of other fast casual dining experiences out there that cannot even hold a candle to Cava's taste and quality, so the next time you are making plans to go to, say Chipotle, veer yourself this direction instead. read more

Cava Mezze Grill is one of those places that's ONLY in the DMV area. My girlfriend and I call Cava the "Healthy alternative to Chipotle." We recently found out about this and it's now one of our favorite places to munch. Their water is an infused drink with Mint and Lime for detox. I highly recommend their 3 special drinks they make themselves but adding a little water to soften up the sweet taste is ideal. read more
If you know me, I don't consider salad a meal; salad is a side. Cava is technically a salad bar but so much better. They offer salad bowls, rice bowls, and wraps. I always get the salad. You have a choice of mixing different greens (romaine, arugula, baby spinach) and they also have a mix called super greens which is a mix of of kale, sprouts and other tasty leaves. Top it with chicken, meatballs, braised beef or lamb. They have a good choice of sauces and dips like hummus, eggplant spread or my favorite spicy feta cheese called crazy feta. The food is very light and refreshing yet incredibly satisfying. The only down side is that they have a limited amount of proteins. I enjoy myself every time I dine here and if you get a chance, try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. read more
Moving to the area and I'm so happy this is walking distance to me! I am a huge fan of Cava Mezze restaurant in Capitol Hill so I was expecting to fall in love with this place, which I did. Build your own bowls is my kind of style because I am 1.) indesicive 2.) a topping whore. I loved the options provided because everything was fresh and super flavorful. I tasted most of the proteins: grilled chicken, meatballs, braised lamb and the lamb meatball. I liked the chicken and I loved the braised lamb. Both of those meats were the most moist and tender of the proteins in my opinion. Will be coming back often since this will be my new neighborhood! So excited. read more

Cava is just the best !!! We came for lunch today long lines but moves fast, I make my own very good food. read more
I was overwhelmed at first, and didn't see the paper menus, so I was definitely confused. I thought the food was very good, particularly the spicy lamb meatballs, and the sauces and dressings are fantastic. Loved the fact that there were many interesting toppings to choose from, particularly the pickled onions. I think two things would be helpful - one, make the wall menus more readable as to what we "do" when we get there, and two, signs by each of the toppings would be hugely helpful. I ordered the super greens, but i didn't know there were raw Brussel Sprouts in the mix. Next time I would go regular greens or a mix of greens and rice. read more

Cava is awesome !! I'm so glad they open one in this neighborhood. Reminds me of Chipotle minus the big portions. I love their grilled meatballs and braised lamb. You can mix them if you want to. You get to build your own food by first starting with your base ( pita, salad, rice) and then off to the dips and spreads ( hummus, tzatziki, eggplant) , protein ( meatball, lamb, beef, chicken) and toppings. They have plenty to choose from and it's all sourced from local farmers. If you enjoy their dips and spread you can actually purchase it from Whole Foods. If you want regular water, remember to ask the cashier for a cup, they normally have some sort of lemon infused water dispenser near the drink area for free. read more

Really great food for healthy eats! Think Chipotle but much healthier and with a Mediterranean twist. I wish they had more locations and had more vegan protein options. But I can live with their falafel.... it's amazing!!! I'm not sure if my serving size was worth $9 though, but I assume I'm paying for the higher quality healthy options. the interior is clean and ordering is made simple. it has step by step instructions as you make your way down to the register. Service is fast and friendly I will be back to try some more stuff out. I saw some other really great plates when I was walking out the door and it made me regret getting my simple salad. I'm going to have to be more adventurous next time. Can't wait! read more

A great healthy fast food place. To sum it up its a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. I try to go low on carbs and stick to the mixed greens salad with spicy lamb meatballs as my protein. There are many other protein options as well. If you are feeling the carbs there are wraps and rice bowls instead of a salad. Overall its a great place for a quick meal! read more
When Chipotle meets Sweet Green, you get Cava Grill- Mediterranean style! Same concept. Came here during lunch time, at 12, on a weekday and it was packed! Inside, the line was looped around. I go to Sweet Green next door for lunch all the time and had never been to Cava. For first timers, we were a little unsure at first of how to order things. They have it posted on the top back so you can kind of get an idea. I got to the counter and kind of knew what I wanted to get. You pick a base such as rice, greens, pita etc; I picked green and grains and did half/half of rice and lentils; pick your dip and sauces, you get to pick up to three, pick your protein, I did half/half of braised lamb and chicken; and you get to pick other extra toppings; and salad dressing. I didn't notice prices listed anywhere, which would've been helpful. We got it in a to go container because we weren't going to have time to finish it there, sat and ate until we needed to head back. I loved my salad bowl! I only ended up using very little of my salad dressing/sauce that they give to you on the side because the three options of dip/sauces in the salad was good enough. When we were leaving the place around 1:00, the line had slowed down a lot and wasn't looping around anymore. I will definitely go back for weekeday lunch, maybe around peak lunch hour. read more

It's been well over a year since a self imposed ban. Nothing has changed. If anything it's worsened. I am eating barely lukewarm meatballs in what is supposed to be a hot rice bowl. The rice is also tepid. There is something to be said when the feta cheese is warmed than the hot items. read more

Hey Corinna! Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention,…
I had heard Cava was good from several of friends, and my sister had their food once, so when we were passing through the area, we decided to stop by for dinner. We had just come from a raw food class about sprouting, and I was starving. About 30 minutes before we came to Cava, I had a wheatgrass shot at the class, which gave me a small headache and made me feel slightly nauseous. That was probably why when I ate my grains + greens bowl it lacked flavor and I was sorely disappointed. It didn't taste like much, but I could tell the food was fresh and the falafel was cooked perfectly crispy. I had even tried the roasted red pepper hummus at a party before and it tasted great, so I started to suspect the wheatgrass was to blame for the unfulfilling meal. Luckily, we brought a bowl back home for my dad (who actually didn't want it haha). We decided to save it for lunch the next day, but at about 11 that night I suddenly got super hungry and decided to try some of the Cava we brought home. By that time, my wheatgrass-induced nausea was gone, and everything tasted AMAZING. I almost wanted to eat the whole thing, but it was late so I left it and ate the rest for breakfast (I couldn't wait for lunch!). Anyways, I'm glad I tried it again and if I pass by a Cava again I will be happy to go, especially because it has great vegan options! read more

Yum! Cava Mezze Grill is a perfect alternative to Chipotle for vegans/vegetarians. Ordering can be super confusing, but luckily I found the portable menu while in line. Within the menu, you can find instructions for ordering, prices, other menu items like extras & drinks, & a super convenient dietary chart. After perusing the chart, I knew exactly what I wanted, which was the brown rice grain bowl with hummus & eggplant + red pepper dip/spread, falafel, basically all the vegan toppings, and lemon herb tahini. It didn't look like the server put a lot of rice in my bowl, but it ended up being a lot of food, which I thoroughly enjoyed for a full & satisfying meal. Side note: My friend got the pita, and she had a lot less food than me, so don't get the pita if you want a large quantity of food. read more
PLEASE OPEN IN VIRGINIA BEACH!!! We are tired of driving to NoVa for Cava!!!!!! Excellent "fast", fresh Mediterranean food!! Cava grill offers an amazingly delicious meal for a very reasonable price. Choose from a salad, rice, lentil or pita base and then add a selection of middle eastern sauces (tahini, hummus, babaganoush, peppered feta etc) , meats (lamb, chicken, meatballs or falafel) and dressings. A unique taste experience and extremely addictive - BEYOND YUMMY! I had the spiced meatballs, saganaki, and fried cauliflower. Where else can a girl eat Brussel Sprouts, kale and lentils with tzatzitki!!! And the cold fresh pressed juices?!! The blackberry sage was beyond delicious. read more

So disappointing, I was really looking forward to a filling and healthy meal before work. I ordered on the app ahead of time for convenience. However, when I got there I had to wait a few minutes to get anyone's attention to hand me my order. I walked away and peeked in, my drink was missing. I had to now wait a 2nd time for my drink. I didn't see utensils so I got my own and realized my side dressing wasn't included. I returned to wait at the counter a 3rd time for my dressing. The kicker... My bowl was quite empty, completely missing the 1/2 grain(lentils) and the roasted veg consisted of 2 mushrooms and a pepper slice. There was a "generous" serving of pickled onions but... breathing my onion meal on people would be rude. So instead of eating I am sadly writing this review. The pic was 3 bites in, where's the rest of it? read more

This was my first visit to Cava Mezze Grill, and 'The Chipotle of Mediterranean Food' certainly is an apt description. They seem to make very efficient use of their retail space. The line moved fairly quickly and the eating area was clean. My dining partner and my combinations were centered around Lukániko, lamb, Falafel, Tzatziki, Crazy Feta, cabbage salad, tomato, and onion. The flavors were good but we both felt that the portions, particularly the proteins, were too small. We ended up splitting a third bowl. My friend was planning to have a glass of red wine, but it was not available. We had Honest Ade Cranberry Lemonade which was okay. It is great to see more casual eating fast food options, I would just like bigger servings of the protein. read more
I LOVE Cava. It's Mediterranean Chipotle, what's not to love? You start with a base (I always go with a rice bowl). After that you can choose up to three types of dips (I get hummus, tzatziki and crazy hummus). Your third choice is your protein (Depending on how much I feel like spending I will get chicken or braised lamb). You finish your meal with toppings consisting of mainly vegetables. Finally you can top off your meal with a variety of dressings. The location is in the crowded Mosaic District so parking and lines can be a bit much, especially on the weekends. Other than that I'm glad that Cava is located close to where I work and is my go to lunch location when I don't feel like packing a lunch. read more
Mediterranean Chipotle is how my friends described Cava Mezze Grill to me before we headed over there after an intense workout. I was starving and devoured my bowl. Here's what I ordered: I got a bowl with supergreens. Protein: Spicy lamb meatballs Dips/spreads: hummus, crazy feta, Tzatziki (**MUST) Dressings: Lemon herb tahini Toppings: pickled onions, mint, kalamata olives, quinoa, cucumber OMG. YUM. I know I was starving and food just tastes better when when you're starving, but everything was so fresh and amazingly savory. You can ask for pita on the side too. The amount of food you get for the price is great and the final product is so pretty haha for you foodie Instagrammers! Really hoping they expand this chain to NYC soon! Please. read more
