I LOVE CAVA!! Ugh, how I wish the Hampton Roads area had one...if I want to satisfy any cravings, I would have to drive 2+ hours just to get it *crying*. This is the first casual Mediterranean spot I've been to and I was not disappointed. I love that you have so so sooo many choices. It's awesome. Aside from the abundance of choices, the amount of food they give you is worth the money. The food is healthier than many other fast food places and I was able to leave feeling full and with half a bowl left. For my bowl, I started off with the brown basmati rice and half chicken, half seasonal roasted veggies for my protein. I got the tzatziki spread on the side, and feta cheese, diced cucumbers, and shredded romaine for my toppings. To finish off my masterpiece, I got the Lemon Herb Tahini dressing. Thankfully, we are lucky enough to have one close by in Burke! I like to order the greens & grains bowl, with arugula. The spreads are all great, and fun fact: also available at Whole Foods. The crazy feta is especially delicious! My sister swears by the falafel, but I like the roasted vegetables. There are lots of toppings to choose from, with seasonal options as well. No. I don't want rice, I don't want beans, I simply want extra salad. The girl just couldn't do it. Is this the business model? Stingy to the clients? Chipotle is next door and they will add whatever I like. Stinginess is such a turn off in my book. I would give no stars if possible. I used to order from this location a lot and they always put the dressing on the side. This time they put the dressing on top of our bowls and when Uber Eats delivered the salad was very soggy and inedible. I called the store and Joseline the MOD said the corporate changed the policy and we had to check the "dressing on the side" option. However, there is no option for that on Uber Eats. I explained it to her. She didn't care. She did nothing to fix the issue. So I tried to dig around it only to find old browning lettuce and crunchy black lentils in the bottom of the bowl. Cava is life. I love this fast casual spot! The food is a delightful mix of fun, flavor and healthy. I normally get a salad bowl with 1/2 chicken 1/2 roasted veggies. There toppings are all great and you can ask for extra. For example, I like three go arounds of the banana peppers. All ingredients are fresh and local. The dressings are yummy. All food-no matter what you get pairs well with the drinks Cava has to offer. Staff members armless look help. Only downside is that it's located right next to Hopsfrog. Normally my husband and I will give new restaurants some 'space' - a little while to get their act together after their Grand Opening, but happened to stop in the first week they were opened. At first we noticed a few familiar faces from their Lee Highways location. It's because of that, I'm sure - why they were running like an oiled machine. Everything tasted exactly as expected and they handled a crowd deftly - I was impressed. The parking leaves much to be desired (the shopping mall already was short for spots before they got there), and the flow through the restaurant is not awesome, but the best they could do given the space they have. My favorite is the falafel salad, and my daughter inhales their hummus with my mini pita from my salad. Their kids meals are pricey but it's good quality food - I guess they take their stance on not discounting the kids meals to draw in the parents. I love Cava. However, I have noticed a huge decline in customer service at many of the locations recently. I was in the area and decided to meet a friend here for lunch. The food was great, as usual, and the service was prompt and efficient. My friend was new to Cava and they helped him get something he really enjoyed. He's now a Cava convert. Stopped in for the Yelp event today for a late lunch. I ordered the greens and grains bowl because I was a bit hungry. I have eaten here maybe 3 times. I live in Burke and am not sure why I don't take more advantage. I got the falafel over my protein and I added some spicy hummus choices on the side. They are super spicy and delicious so if you cannot hang with spice do not get that spicy red one. My girlfriend got the other greens and grains but she got the super greens I think and I got the other greens. Honestly I can't remember we both tried the different options for the greens with our meals today. We both got the brown basmati. Is that a thing? I can't remember it was brown rice either way. So then I added the couscous on top of it and almost every topping possible and my #BAL was huge. It was sooooo good. I added a soda and got some root beer. Loved every bit of this today. The only thing I could say that would make things at check out a little bit easier would be if something was chats as it went down the aisle of choices so that the checkout girl or a person would know what it was that we got because by the time I got all the way down there you know what I couldn't even remember everything. So like they do in some other restaurants you could either write like falafel was on top or it was just veggies etc. and no extra items like an extra side or something and it might make it a little bit easier and faster at check out. Other than that it was awesome. Another something might be to empty out those Trash cans sooner than later. I had to walk all the way to the other one not that it was really far I'm just saying that the other one was so jampacked that I couldn't even add anything else to it. Service here is SERIOUSLY lacking. After visiting Fairfax, Mosaic,Alexandria, National Airport, and Gainesville, this one still hasn't gotten its act together. Mothers Day dinner, I filled out a 5 person order on the app, got to the end, sent the order... spin spin... nothing. Tried three more times. No error, no email. Called the store and was assured that no online order was received. My husband got to the store to find a long line. While filling these 5 orders, he had to stop the server on two different occasions from slapping on things that were not asked for. Meatballs were out (10 mins) radishes were out, brown rice was out, no feta, 3 of the bowls were missing ingredients, one had all wrong dips. Go two days later during lunch, guy kept grabbing for the wrong toppings, looked highly confused, I asked for pita chips and he said "OK" but never took them out from under the lamp. Got to the end and finished the loose toppings then slid the bowl down and turned away. No dressing? umm, ok. Guess the cashier is gonna do it. Oh yeah, the cashier had to get the pita chips too. Get home 30 mins later, meatballs are salty AF, rice oversalted too. Oil that the pita chips were fried in needs changed. You've been open an hour- how can the oil be stale already?? It looks like a torture device, it is so bulky that it won't scoot close to the table, and the straps are impossible to adjust. Not only is the price around the general range of Chipotle's price but CAVA also gives much much more food!!! Aside from the additional costs of adding more protein, adding as much of everything else is 100% free. In addition to the actual food, the staff is just as great. When I first came to CAVA, I did not actually know some of the ingredients such as, quinoa, crisps, and the variety of sauces. Thankfully enough, the staff not only helped me to pronounce the ingredients but also gave a brief description of their flavors. On the other hand, one does get quite sick of CAVA if one eats their 7 times in a week (as goes with any other restaurant). All in all, grab a lunch from CAVA, you won't regret. read more

Last few times I've eaten at Cava, I'm still hungry. In the beginning, when they first opened, I couldn't ever finish my meal. But they have seriously cut back. I've noticed that now they only fill the bowl 1/2 way. Last time I paid for double protein (the roasted veggies) but the serving is still so small. Otherwise, the food is delicious!
