If you don't like Cava your probably ordering the wrong food. That was my first mistake when I went there and I didn't go back for a long time after that. Recently my friend ordered for me and it was the best I can't stop eating it. At first it was really enjoyable and I would go there roughly 3 times a week. I don't know what changes but my past few orders from there have been really small. I mean that they are giving me less of everything like rice, chicken, veggies. It's really angering me and I don't want to ask for more and get charged extra. The bowls are gradually getting smaller and if they keep this up I'm gonna stop eating there. This is my favorite place around here to get falafel! Every time I come (which too be honest is pretty often) I get the green+grains with falafel, and the food is never anything but fantastic! The only thing I'm not crazy about at CAVA is their fruit/vegetable juicers, but they have unsweetened black tea so there is still an option for the less adventurous like myself read more

Casual atmosphere with plain tables and chairs and bright lighting. Most people seemed to be getting carry-out bowls. Large selection of greens, and dips, and toppings. We had the lamb balls, for an upcharge, but it was really delicious. Prices were not too bad. read more

The food is amazing but the customer service stinks to the T! I only liked Harrado and Chris for their professionalism and maturity. I actually discontinued to attend here because every time i went as a paying customer. I was not treated with respect, kindness, or welcomed appropriately. The only person who treated me with great customer service was Harrado and Chris. Every single employee there was extremely rude and should be terminated. I have had more than 12 experiences with each employee acting very rude towards me. For example, Jocelynn the hispanic employee had slandered about me in her native language (Espanol) calling me a "bendejo" based on my hairstyle appearance. luckily for myself as an Educated American, i understood Spanish language whom also spoke 6 other languages fluently. I wasnt born yesterday, and i asked for an apology from both employees who slandered about me in front of me. They actually did not apologize but requested me to apologize to them for wasting their time. How rude! The Manager also kept giving me judgmental stare downs every time i visited like as if i was up to something? But im not, i am just minding my own business, speaking up for how rudely treated i am as a paying customer, and enjoying the food. I dont know what is going on here but i feel singled out every time i go to this specific Cava in Burke. Peter O. And the other several hispanic employees also i have caught several times frequently for gossipping and slandering about me behind their back. I mean, i am not deaf here. I can clearly comprehend Spanish language fluently. My appearance should not be discriminated or prejudice. I can file a report if this continues to happen. You don't get much value for your money. The pitas are delicious but they're way too small. I have an average appetite and I am always hungry after just one. It's not cheap either, lunch for two cost $26. I should not be hungry after spending that much, particularly when I can spend less at Chipotle or Five Guys and be entirely full. You could get a regular pita and a mini pita which would be about as much food as a Chipotle burrito, but then you'd be looking at over $20 per person. read more

I'm so glad to have a Cava in Burke! I love the locations in DC and Mosaic District, and am very happy that I can grab fresh salad and grain bowls nearby. The restaurant is very nice inside, clean and spacious. The service is great, always quick, efficient, and friendly. Even when I'm in a rush during lunch hour, I can get in and out very fast. As I mentioned in an earlier review in May, this is a nice alternative to the usual chains in that the food is healthier for you. I still agree with this, but as i saw with another review, regarding servers who came across rude. I have had one such rude server, and all the rest seem to be curt toward any one who doesn't look like their in the same age range as the server. I am very pleased to have a Cava in Burke. However, the customer service at this location is severely lacking. After scrolling through the reviews, I can see I'm not the only one who's experienced bad CS. I walked up to the counter and the lady greeted me, "Hi, how are you?" But then she continued wiping down the counter and even went down the length of the counter to the cashier side where she continued to wipe/scrub down the counter. She made no gesture that she was coming back to help me, so I stood there looking down toward her way wondering if she was going to attempt any kind of customer service. After standing there for a while, an employee comes into the area from the back. He asks what he can get for me. I tell him I'm getting a salad and a pita. We go down the line for the salad first. I'm thinking he's going to take care of the pita after. But after making the salad, he takes his gloves off and walks away. I say a little louder that I'm also getting a pita. He's now putting on a new pair of gloves, but doesn't look even once over my way again. So I'm not even sure he's heard me. I repeat louder that I also want a pita. Again, no sign he's heard me. He walks over to the other employee and just stands next to her. I repeat for the 4th time that I'd like a pita also. He finally walks over to the start of the prep line and gets a pita out to make my order. No real eye contact, no smiles...just stares off into the distance and attitudes like they don't want to help anyone and are hoping any other employee will take care of the orders. A shame this location doesn't have the great customer service as some of their other locations. An establishment can only be as good as their employees. And this one doesn't seem to have ones that are giving good customer service. read more

The falafel is very tasty, perfectly moist, and everything I got with it so good - olives, feta, picked opinions, red pepper hummus, etc. Generous portion.
