Back again for pretty much the same order as last time. Still tasty (though the pita on the side was a bit hard). Love the lentils, love the unlimited toppings- esp the pickled onions and spicy pepper slices. Staff is friendly and keep the line moving even during the dinner rush. Just here to say that the gentleman who helped us was an ANGEL. Corey L. was extremely personable, kind, and attentive during our entire ordering process at Cava on Congress Ave. tonight. He genuinely went above and beyond to take care of us and I can't say enough good things about him. He had stellar customer service but more than that he genuinely made me and my friends entire day with his smile and caring attitude. I work in the same building as CAVA and frequent here for lunch. Sometimes the restaurant is busy, but that just shows how great the food and service are. They are quick at preparing your order and seem to have a great system in place to help run everything smoothly. The staff is very friendly and makes the experience at CAVA that much better! Would 10/10 recommend CAVA and will continue to come here for lunch. read more

It was my first time here since I'm from out of town and the long line is a good thing. Means people love it and are willing to wait. I didn't know you could build a bowl i wasn't ready for that so i got the grilled chicken bowl and added sweet potato and dill yogurt dressing. For the price you get a lot of flavor and ingredients that you can't really find yourself. Oh gosh don't get me started on the drinks. They are amazing i already had two refills so refreshing and yummy. The line workers were very nice too! read more

We went here on Sunday an hour before closing and I was served partially cooked lentils. I did not realize it until I took a few bites. I understand food towards the end of the night, not being as fresh, but there should be a warning if food is not going to be edible. I had some stomach issues afterwards. read more

If you order ahead you get half a bowl and you'll either be waiting for your food anyway or your food will not be fresh and often missing something that you ordered. If you go, wait in the long line as you'll get a better product. read more

I usually eat here about twice a month and love the food. Honestly, I would go there more often but sometimes the line is long. Before today I had never ordered online and I do not suggest it. My order was suppose to be ready at 11:45. When I got there there were about 5 people inline so they weren't that busy. Quickly, they started to get busy and the line started to back up, after about 5mins of waiting 11:50am, I asked about my order since 12pm orders were starting to come out. I was told that they were just backed up and it would be out shortly. 5mins later, i asked again and I was told that the lamb meatballs were taking a while but that my bowl was already prepped and in the back. A couple of mins later I got my bowl. The meatballs were cold and pink. I know that lamb can be a little pink but the cold center is what really weirded me out. Anyways, it's unfortunate that the online ordering didn't workout and overall I just wouldn't risk it. read more

Visiting Austin from AZ (where we don't have Cava!) and I have heard so many good things, so I was thrilled to see one near our hotel! I stopped in and was immediately welcomed, and the gentleman at the front was so nice walking me through the menu and all my options, and even made recommendations. The food was DELISH, literally the Mediterranean version of Chipotle -- super fresh, lots of flavor and options, and pretty reasonably priced. Can't wait to come back! read more

Really great experience yesterday! Maya helped us order with her friendly attitude and ability to answer every single question (there were a lot!) was great. "What is Skhug??" Maya knows! As I paid with a credit card, no option to tip came up, so I asked if there was an option to tip and she said no, but thanks for asking and said if I like I could write a review. I really like CAVAs everywhere but this one on Congress Ave in Austin needs help. First off, it is incredibly popular with the downtown lunch crowd and the line gets crazy long about noon to at least 2 most days. But they don't act like it. It seems perpetually understaffed, and the line time is crazy. They don't seem to have enough people working, and with the time each staff spends with each customer- their business model demands a LOT of dialog between the customer and staff about what things are, how much different add-ons, cost, etc. doesn't lend well at all to a crazy busy lunch crowd. Finally, while the food is generally good- the roast potato option with the proteins has been BURNT the last 3 times I have been in there. Yuk- it tastes terrible. I got a bowl today with grilled chicken and it was burned, too. Like huge crusty black burnt spots all over. WHo is cooking here? It's too bad when you see a restaurant that is popular and needed but they just can't step up to be the lunch place downtown professionals need. read more

One of my favorite spots for lunch downtown. Don't be intimidated by the line -- it moves quickly. The food is always fresh and the service is great. But if you go, don't order ahead online -- that's where my docked star comes from. It's never ready on time, they always skimp on the food, and half the time they forget the pita bread or other requested items in your order. read more

Five stars because all around great and impressive. It was very busy and had a long line, but we were at the end of the line and paid within 10 minutes of walking in the door. I got a greens & grains bowl which was perfect, it was so fresh and yummy but also filling. It's hard to find fresh, good food for a reasonable price and this is definitely the right place for it! read more

Food = 5 / experience thus far has been great! Staff = 5 / friendly Mobile app functionality = 5 HOWEVER... Mobile order pickup window = 0 / terrible, awful, no good, very bad. Both times we have ordered ahead using the app, we are given an estimated pickup time (today it was supposed to be 1:30). Order was finally ready today at 1:53. That's just unacceptable and defeats the entire purpose of mobile order ahead. read more

I had always seen this place on campus and it looked so fancy i always wanted to try so here i am finally after 4 years. Anyways it's basically a greek chipotle but they have a lot more options and sauces. it's cool that u can get 3 spreads on a bowl , ingredients are fresh. Place is dirty tho and the line takes forever. Also they didn't have pita crisps or at least 2 other toppings which sucksssss but whatever it's coool. Overall it was gas and refreshing, and not as expensive as i expected. basically same price as chipotle. i'm sure it's just a lil less professional cause it's run by fellow college students who don't care bout their temporary jobs. it be like that tho read more

We popped in thinking it was going to be amazing, first off they greeted us very well however the server spilled MY food on the counter and failed to refill the bowl the female worker however recognized the issue without me complaining and refilled it. They were out of 2 sauces okay cool no biggie. My girlfriend then found a huge piece of VERY undercooked chicken we were disgusted and want to throw up our food. The picture below shows one piece however the piece we had was something you could cut off a chicken breast where the outside was cooked the inside was so gooey and dark red. I know people only review when things are shit, and no one pays attention to the shitty reviews when all else is good BUT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS UNCOOKED CHICKEN IS A REAL THING! Thank god the employee fixed it and was able to supply us with free coupons and a full refund still doesn't help that I inhaled so much food that was under cooked. read more

The service was very fast and friendly considering it's an assembly line. You get to customize your own bowl and have pita on the side. There are options for salad. This is very similar to chipotle. I got a bowl with lamb meat and different sauces. The flavor to me was more healthy than Chipotle. I enjoyed the sauces since they were light and unique. The lamb meat was very pricey and I only got 4 balls of lamb. I wish there was more meat to balance out the rice. Overall, pretty good and healthy food but still expensive for a light meal. $10+?. I enjoyed it but nothing in me really craves it or goes back to it. read more

I don't write reviews often but wtf. I waited in line for 40 minutes to order. The beverage dispenser didn't work. They had 2 employees front of house and one back of house. The tables were covered in food and trash. The employees can only do so much and they were working hard. Shame on cava for not increasing labor and giving these people more help. read more

My to go order today was the Harvest Bowl--kale, chicken, sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, and balsamic dressing. I get this one all the time, it's one of the best salads and the goat cheese is the perfect addition. I also ordered the Steak Mezze which is basically a Mediterranean bowl. This was my first time trying the Steak Mezze plate. It was okay but the portion size is way too small. They also sell kombucha, rice crispy treats and chips!
