Spicy chicken and falafel bowl
Najah H.

Fast, casual build your bowl type of chain. Cava (formerly Zoe's Kitchen) is the same focus of Mediterranean food however the format is different. Personally I miss Zoe's. There was a feel of a restaurant and you could sit to enjoy your meal. The line at Cava was slow. The grains, greens, protein, dips, toppings and dressings are simple. There's nothing spectacular with the exception of eating something healthy. I wouldn't say fast because it took about 30 minutes with the line, prep and checking out. They were out of the balsamic date vinaigrette dressing too. I may get a bowl if I'm in the area but definitely have had better.

Lemonade machines broken down over an hour before closing

I frequent here pretty often. I will say I feel like the food and service go down at night vs during lunch time. The last few weeks I have been going anytime between 8-9 pm and each time I've gone they've run out of sauces (and wont make anymore) and the lemonade machines are broken down already. Mind you they don't close until 10. If you do want to get a lemonade they pour it out of these containers that they have sitting by the door. These is extremely unsanitary. Customer service is the only thing that is consistent at this location

This was my second time ever at a Cava, and although I enjoy the food, this location ain't it. Parking: There is a good number of free parking spots; however, during "rush hours" I can see those spots filling up quickly. There were a number of people picking up orders inside though, so may not have to wait too long for a spot. Food: The food is good! It's kind of like a Chipotle-style Mediterranean based restaurant. They have some preset bowls/pitas you can choose from, or you can build your own. I got a Harissa Avocado Bowl, but customized it to my liking. They also have desserts like cookies and brownies. Drinks: They have various lemonades and teas. I made a mixture with 1/2 Blueberry Lavender and 1/2 Classic Lemonade. They also have a soda fountain and various bottled/boxed juices and sodas. Vibe: There is plenty of seating available, both indoor and outdoor, so that's nice. Customer service is where it all went downhill. The individual taking my order was rude and abrupt. Even after informing her it was only my second time at a Cava and I was still figuring out how it worked, she just basically looked at me and was like, "So what do you want??". And at checkout, I was debating whether or not to get a bag, she very rudely said, "Do you want the bag or not?". I understand everyone has their off days, but it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident at this location. So yes, I recommend checking out Cava, just not this location. Hopefully they'll work on their customer service because that can make or break an experience.

I'm actually really surprised this spot is only 2.5 stars ‍. This is probably my family and my favorite little healthy spot. I come here after training in Jiu Jitsu when I want a healthy post workout meal. I usually make my own bowl and love it every time. It's a Mediterranean take on MOES or CHIPOTLE. It had several tasty greens options, rice, a good variety of protein options and fixings. We have been here over 20 times and dined in maybe 2-3 times. You can dine in but it feels more like a grab and go vibe. I have noticed if you come later in the evening they run out of food and sauce options. It's a conveyer belt of patrons so the staff doesn't seem the friendliest. Stern looks and ZERO smiles, but the food is good. Expect to get your tasty food and leave...

This cava is very inconsistent. I've had a great bowl from them, but sometimes the portions are soo tiny! Last time I barely got any chicken in mine!

I went to Cava for the first time with a friend after a morning of volunteering and I'm left conflicted on my thoughts. Here's why. Upon arrival, luckily I was able to walk in without a line but I wish there was one. Since I had never been to Cava before I didn't understand the menu nor knew how to order. Instead of the employee asking if I needed help or explaining the process. I was rudely rushed as if there was a line. I apologized and said sorry I have never been here before. So I asked for brown rice to start my bowl. She asked if I wanted any greens. I asked greens? And she looked me as if I was crazy. I scuffled my way through the entire process with no help from the employees. Both the person who waited on me and the cashier wasn't the friendliest at all. When my friend went to order after arriving, she experienced the same rude customer service. As for the food, the bowl I scuffled through and created was tasty. And I would love another (from a different location which isn't possible as another isn't conveniently located near me). Also, I love that they sold water bottles in a metal container which is easily recyclable (Metal can be recycled forever where plastic can't). Also the ambiance inside was mediocre. Nothing special. It was giving me upscale fast food looks. This rating was docked due to the poor customer service inside.

Cava offers great, healthy food options, but unfortunately, the service here is extremely unprofessional and rude, particularly to new customers. One of the women working with the cold toppings displayed such blatant disrespect, her tone was harsh and condescending, and her facial expressions made it clear she couldn't have cared less about giving us a very unpleasant experience. She put the incorrect ingredients that I asked for, and I was so uncomfortable with her attitude that I chose to let it pass, just so we could keep moving. It felt like she hated us for simply existing. While I understand that anyone can have a bad day, this went far beyond that--it was uncomfortable and downright disrespectful. To make matters worse, it seemed as if the frustration was specifically aimed at us being the only non-Black (Asian) customers in line. This behavior has completely soured our experience, despite the food being good, and it makes us hesitant to return.

Straightforward Persian inspired bowls. Lots of food for the money/ I usually end up making two meals out of my bows.

There was indoor and outdoor seating and we chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful night. We had amazing service, great food, in a really cute neighborhood. We were especially impressed with the staff, and we had a member come out more than once to check with one of the people dining with us who had food allergies to ensure that how they were offering the food would be safe for her. It was also impressive that this restaurant was so busy on a Monday night. There were three of us dining, and we didn't even order any of the meats, and there was plenty of food for us. From the Mazzes, we had the Omani Shrimp, which had a great dipping sauce and the Beet Carpaccio. (they were very accommodating and put the whipped feta on the side). For the Spreads, we did the hummus with mushroom, shisito and egg, which was amazing and the labneh with pickled fennel on the top. It's served with taftoun bread which I would describe as a mix of a cracker and pita with sesame on top. We also enjoyed a raw vegetable dish with radish and the most delicious apple slices. Their heirloom tomato salad was beautifully presented and plentiful. They had a flight of condiments and we were able to sample zhoug, spicy tahina and torshi, which was a mixture of pickled vegetables. We ended with a pistachio lava cake with the most delicious cardamon gelato. Overall, we had an amazing meal in their beautiful outdoor space, and we thought the food was really reasonably priced. There's something for everyone on this menu whether you're vegetarian, vegan or a meat eater.

We were greeted by smiles and a welcoming team at the host table and I quickly appreciated the Mediterranean charm of the restaurant -- I felt like I could have been in Rick's Cafe Americain or the Blue Parrot! The dim lighting offered a great blend of intimacy and privacy, while still letting me see the people at my table and the food! And the food! My goodness, the food! We had a wonderful sampling of shared appetizers. The hummus and Dill labneh were solid and would have been deemed more than worthy by my Lebanese grandmother! Olives were a revelation, and were done in a preparation that included pomegranate which paired really well with the brine of the olives! The star of the first round, however, was the whole cauliflower, roasted and spiced. Without reservation, I can say it is the most I have ever enjoyed cauliflower - and I shall return for it again! I was already full by the time my falafel arrived for my main course. Falafel was exactly as it was supposed to be, and it was good. I ate it all, and then, a la Violet Beauregard upon leaving the chocolate factory, had to be rolled out of the restaurant! Our server and his food runners were all gems! The manager also came by to chat with us a couple of times. Great people at Delbar!

The service has always been really great, and the owner is genuinely nice and always ready for a pleasant conversation. But sometimes the food comes out... average at best? I really only come here when I have the taste for mediterranean fare but don't feel like cooking it since it's so nearby. There are some things they do well. I like their baba ganoush, hummus, and beet salad. But other things are a bit lackluster and the meats can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry, other times it's succulent. The pita is toasted, but you can surely tell it isn't made fresh. My husband is obsessed with wings and even he said the wings served here are a BIG no. Also cannot recommend the fries, as they've been notoriously dry and cold. Perhaps we should not have expected good wings given that it's primarily mediterranean fare lol. The parking situation is also abysmal. They share a really small lot and the individual spots are poorly marked. This place is off of Briarcliff and the traffic is notorious for being bad, so that makes coming and going that much harder in a lot that's already a little treacherous. When the parking lot is full, it is like playing 2-ton Tetris. I'll also note that the hours can sometimes be a suggestion, and they unexpectedly close earlier than indicated (but will leave a handwritten note). This place seems to be a local favorite. The prices are nice. I just wish it was more reliable with taste and quality.
