3.5 stars We dined at Cattleman's with a late night crew of tired parents and hungry kids. We were lucky and they were able to seat us on the patio - we walked in with a group of 15. The patio was perfect - only complaint was old eyes had a hard time seeing the menu as it got dark outside. Service was great - our waitress was attentive and got our order in perfect, plus was able to split up the checks with no issue. Complimentary rolls were served after we ordered - they are sweet rolls but nothing like Texas Roadhouse. Let's just say I was okay after one roll. I ordered the chicken pesto with baked potato and my daughter ordered the chicken wrap with fries. Everyone else at the table ordered steaks. The chicken was a little tough and overcooked, and the baked potato was very good. Tables outside were a bit wobbly so the table rocked while I cut into my chicken. My daughter liked her fries and chicken wrap. Overall it was a solid meal, but don't think we'll be back. read more

Cattleman's is a great choice for lunch or dinner here in Danville. The salad bar is one of our favorite things about this steakhouse. Greens, plentiful toppings, and delicious prepared salads (I love the broccoli salad) make a great accompaniment to your meal, or a great meal all by itself. The burgers we have had there are phenomenal, and we have also enjoyed the fried pork chop and the whitefish. They also have some good specials and a loyalty program. As for the service, it has always been very good. Our servers have been friendly and helpful. Overall, we have had great experiences at Cattlemen's and we look forward to many return trips. read more

We both found hair in our food! Night service cooks are not very attentive! My porkchops were dry and extremely overcooked! We will not be going back. I understand hair can happen? But in both of our plates? Plus all the compensation I received was a tiny cup of soup? A manager wasn't even alerted to the unsanitary conditions of our meal. Went here with a group of friends for Sunday dinner. Overall the service was good. We were a large group and not only did the restaurant accommodate us on the spot, they assigned enough staff to our table to make our large group comfortable. I ordered a steak. It was cooked exactly as I liked it and per my order. It was nicely marbled and tasty. My fries were kind of soggy, which didn't make sense, because overall the food was good. My wife has food allergies and the waitress worked with her specifically to find safe menu options for her enjoyment. Table attentiveness was good. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner. Restrooms were getting a little dirty, but we are talking Sunday at the peak of church crowd lunch hours. It was busy. The parking lot is large and there are plenty of handicap spaces. Came in at 8 on a sat and was told a 15 minute wait, which isn't bad. Wait only lasted about 5 minutes. Waiter immediately waited on us. He was very friendly and answered all questions easily. We got free rolls to start , but they weren't actually cooked all the way and were doughy . The tobacco burger was cooked perfectly and had just a tiny kick to it. The salmon almost had a teriyaki flavor and was slightly overcooked. The blue burger was cooked well and had nice flavor. The quality of fresh meat was noticeable. LISTEN. we called ahead around 11am to attempt to get a reservation at 3pm for 18. (We were celebrating a birthday). The girl on the phone told us they do not accept reservations- totally fine!- but if we came about 15 minutes early they would have a table ready and we could get seated. So, we show up at about 2:40 and they give us a 30 minute wait-again, no problem!- HOWEVER, we then proceed to wait, and wait, and wait. During this time, a multitude of tables get called up and some even being parties of 10+. Big parties that showed up after us are getting seated, served, and leaving while we are still waiting for our table. We waited until 5:45 before we were seated. The food was delicious and the servers were amazing. That is the ONLY reason they receive any stars at all from me. If you are thinking about going here with a big party- don't. read more

Both times I've been here my steaks have been par for the course excellently cooked to a perfect med rare and the salad bar is to die for anything you would want a salad and more! This is a good restaurant for a steak with no frills. It is obviously a great place for families to eat with small children. I prefer to not dine in a noisy environment with families, but it wasn't too chaotic. The wait to be seated was only 15 minutes. I waited at the bar and Shella was a very nice bartender. I feel the bar area could have been tidier, but I don't know how busy they were prior to my arrival. It seems she was the only bartender, so she was busy. Tiffany was our waitress and she was nice and efficient. The plating of the food has a lot to be desired. When you get a steak and baked potato and that is all that goes on the plate, the presentation is lacking. The lack of a picture perfect presentation was made up for in taste. Finally, I made it to lunch. The lunch menu is small, but nice offerings. They have a huge salad bar - very fresh selections. The Angus burger and fries are huge. The fries are fantastic - hand cut, crispy outside, and tender inside. Our server was a doll, attentive without being annoying. Her sweet southern accent won our hearts as soon as she said good evening. Our Rib eye and baked potatoes were cooked to perfection, and the lava cake dessert was a delicious delight to finish our meal. The facility is very clean. Went here for my 14th anniversary and was the worst meal ever! after driving a half hour there waiting 45 minutes for a table. Susan was an awesome waitress took the order fast had our rolls fast. I ordered the dry rub ribs and wife ordered the prime rib and loaded sweet potato which she was brought a regular potato first. we also ordered 2 appetizers which never came. The dry rub ribs (not rubbed with any seasoning at all tasted boiled.) had no flavor at all. the prime rib was raw not rare and very little of the thing was even edible. you all really let me down. wish I had looked at your rev before hand. read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Danville. We asked the women at the front desk where was a good place to eat? They recommended the cattlemen's roadhouse which was walking distance from the hotel. They said to show us our key card and we would get a free appetizer. We had the blackened shrimp appetizer, which was excellent. Can't remember what my wife ordered but she said it was good. I have the 10 ounce ribeye And they baked potato. Which came out cooked, perfectly, medium rare, and a nice char. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Great food. Been here several times! The last visit however was not enjoyable. The manager has the AC set somewhere between "Antarctica" and "Nuclear Winter" SEVERAL tables around us, including us have complained about the fact we are freezing to death to no avail. I am sitting at the table now, and can't feel my nose, ears or fingers.. seriously. This is really going to make me reconsider coming back unless I'm dressed for an arctic expedition. PS. An hour wait on a Friday evening, I guess is to be expected for a small town's most popular restaurant. I figure this is it. I've never experienced an hour wait in Danville, anywhere else. Luckily, we didn't wait that long though. We scored a high top table surrounding the bar. There are a few booths in that area as well and they are all on a 'walk up' basis. The salad bar at any Cattleman's Roadhouse is what sets this place apart from the other Roadhouse chains. It's loaded! You can either add it on in addition to a meal or appetizer for an charge, or you can order solely that as your meal. If you add it on as an accompaniment to your meal, be careful and don't over do it. I was only able to take a few bites of my steak by the time it arrived. The steak... their steak is unlike any other. I'm not sure where it comes from, but it's in a league of its own. I've eaten at a handful of CR's and never had a bad steak. Not even a tad bit of fat on their filets or sirloins. This time I ordered the 10 oz. sirloin medium well and it more like medium rare, but it was still great. So why rave about so much but only give 4 stars? The service. Before we scored a table, we sat at two corner seats at the bar. I had to ask for menus and never was our order taken until about 10 minutes after we moved over to the high top table. Another fantastic meal at the Cattleman's. read more
