I've tried this restaurant three times. And before you give me a hard time, this often one of the only places available and I always give at least a couple tries before I write it off. First time the steak was awful(see original review). Second time I tried the steak medallions and they were overcooked and chewy and flavorless. This time I thought, I can get a burger, that's easy. Who can manage to mess up a burger? I ordered it medium and it came crispy well done. I give up. Last time for me.

It was a very nice experience overall. The food was excellent! It was my first time here and I had the Hot Honey Chicken. I want to get it again! It is delicious. I even ate every bite of the potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. They were delicious as well. The chicken had a crispy crusty outside that has the wet hot honey sauce on it and it is tender and very tasty with just the right textures. Also had great atmosphere and good service.

On our bourbon trial tour - another place we weee taken for lunch. Sure a neat looking place inside. Good service. The burgers were pretty good. Onion rings however, a pre fab onion ring....though decent....still not like a true homemade onion ring. All solid enough and you won't be disappointed. But you won't be way blown away either.

Copper & Oak has been on my list, and I finally had the opportunity to visit today. We arrived shortly after they opened so we were seated right away. We decided to start with the fries and aioli sauces. This was a huge plate of fries which were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, surrounded by a multitude of sauces. As a self-proclaimed "saucy girl," I loved it! This was a great appetizer. For our meals we both chose burgers and onion rings. The burgers were great and the meat was seasoned perfectly. The onion rings were good, too, but after all of those fries I wished I had gotten a side salad or vegetable. Overall, this was a great first visit. I would like to return to try out the Sunday brunch menu. If you are visiting downtown Danville, Copper & Oak is a great lunch or dinner spot.

In town for Parents weekend at Centre College, and booked Sunday Brunch here. I won't beat around the bush - excellent brunch, and excellent service. We started off with their French toast bake as an appetizer. So good! Included fresh blueberries, strawberries, and watermelon. My wife ordered the steak and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly, and she said it was excellent. My daughter and I both got the eggs Benedict. Very good. 10/10 would do that again. And I give special praise for their potato cakes. Much better than I was expecting. This was the first time I had dined here. Nice hidden gem in downtown Danville (well, maybe not so hidden for the locals). They have a nice outdoor sidewalk patio, and the inside was cozy and inviting. If you're in the area, I can highly recommend.

Very cool building that has been remodeled in the downtown area. This was a spur of minute of the stop on Sunday afternoon as we were driving through. I saw the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich and that helped make our decision to stop. When we arrived, we bypassed the host station and someone sat us. In review of the menu, they handed us, they handed us the dinner menu, and I asked if I could still get the sandwich and they obliged, but without bringing us the lunch menu. She ordered the black and blue salad. we got an explanation of all the beers even after I told her I knew about all the beers and I ordered a peanut butter stout on nitro. I use the restroom which was in the back and was very clean. On my way out I noticed that I felt like I was in a building to mimic the 1920s. When the food arrived, she really liked her black and blue salad. My chicken Cordon Bleu was not juicy and I think the ham or Canadian bacon was overcooked. The french fries were amazing! Our total was $40 before tip.

Every time I visit Danville this is my go to restaurant of choice! Their food is always delicious! However, the broccoli was a little salty, for my taste. The staff were very friendly and polite, however our server wasn't the most attentive, but she was super sweet.

Great food and extremely fast service. Great atmosphere in an old building as well. Definitely pays homage to bourbon distilling.

Good burgers and atmosphere! A bit pricey for what you get, but still worth it when you need a really well made burger.

Bright and open space - primarily small plates but a few entrees on the menu. Perfect spot for meeting/chatting. Lots of different seating options for a variety of group sizes and yet comfy for one person. Cute decor and lovely art collection (as one would expect). I had the pimento cheese crostini, the soup of the day (Chickpea Chili), and a lavender lemonade. All three items were excellent. Comforting, homemade, and the perfect end to an adventure wandering around the arts center and the gift shop.

Nice meeting spot for the area, bright and open, with a decent selection of charcuterie, small sandwiches, soups, and salads. We had the charcuterie board, with three cheeses, two meats (salami and country ham), crackers, bread, grapes, olives, nuts. Very large board. Was bummed there was a large hair in some of our cheese, but things happen. We also had the pimento in greens. Pimento was creamy, but lacked seasoning. The Murrini trio came with the previously mentioned pimento cheese, hummus (also under-seasoned, but also creamy), naan, crackers, and pickled veggies. The pickled veggies appeared to be made on site and were great! The deviled egg flight we had, supposedly three different flavors, also lacked pizazz. Not bad, just not much else either. We also had tea, water, and mimosas (Prosecco out of the bottle into orange juice). They also have lemon and basil burrata, a roasted veggie sandwich, a turkey club. Their dinner selections are limited to: pasta and spinach, pot roast, a toasted sesame salmon bowl, and the seared seafood salad. You go up to the counter to order. This is not a spot where you have a specific server to your table. Service was as good as it could be. There were two servers/cashiers. Both very kind and helpful, but very young and basically doing the best they could without any sort of oversight or management. I would come here again for a meet up or basic light lunch. But it's not a place you'd take your out of town friends or take people to impress them.

Ok. So...10 minutes in, I was thinking "2 stars...if they are lucky!" But you know what...? Turns…read moreout they were lucky, so 3 stars it is! Things got a little better and the two wines that are actually under their name/label were surprisingly delicious! Anyway, we were driving back to Louisville from Nashville and the Fella filled me with joy when he said we could stop at a couple wineries on the way. Not only is it a great way to break up the monotonous drive, but it allowed me to try more Kentucky wineries (like a Pokemon, I wanna try 'em all!). Cave Valley Winery was the right distance between the first place we stopped and getting home, so we decided this would be our final boozy-stop on the way. It is easy to get to, just a small loop off the highway at the Park City exit. It was a strange first impression when we got there, though. The winery isn't so much a winery, as it is a room inside an old hotel that also operates as the site's regular bar. They were also getting ready for a Ladies' Shooting competition to be held on the weekend, there were lots of gun signs and promotional booths and tents set up and sponsor banners. We weren't initially sure that we were at the right place...maybe some of the banners were covering the winery sign? Also...guns and alcohol...what could go wrong, amirite? It was strange. When we walked in to the bar, there were two people futzing around with the register iPad and a printer. It took a bit before we were greeted, and when we were, they both mentioned that they were not the tasting host and would go get her. While she was being retrieved, we were able to look over the wine list and the woman at the bar got us started with our first sample, though she admitted she didn't really know anything about the wines. Once the usual wine tasting host, Amber, came in we were ready to lock and load. (Get it...because of the gun range...no? Ok.) You get 5 samples for $5. But be aware, they only have TWO wines under their own label. The two they have are surprisingly delicious, if I do say so myself. As for the rest of the two-page wine list, they are all wines from Wight-Meyer, which is not one of my favorite places either. So that was a little disappointing. And they were out of a few of the wines I wanted to taste. Amber was pretty alright though, with some information on tasting notes. But she was minutes from the end of her shift and asked that we close out right away. Which was fine, we needed to get on the road again anyway. Overall, I am conflicted. It was a weird experience, but their wines are decent and once Amber got to our tasting, all was well. But temper your expectations if you are a winery-hopper like me. (If I was feeling more generous, I would give another star just for all the puppers roaming about....but really, 3 stars is where its at.)
