It's .....Magical! From the moment you open the front doors and enter.... To Making your way to the Glitz, located downstairs ......The menu changes every few weeks, which I love! I've never had a meal that wasn't good... always enough and delicious flavors .

When looking for a venue for our daughter-in-law's baby shower, I remembered visiting The Glitz at Irish Acres with my husband over 30 years ago. We no longer live in Kentucky but wanted to gather family and friends across several states, and this place was PERFECTION! Anna and her staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We descended on them early on a Saturday afternoon, and, to their great credit, they fed us gloriously and kept us focused on the celebration...quite the accomplishment with the entire building being a feast for the eyes! The beautiful drive through horse country, farm to table menu and stunning antiques were pure magic!

Irish Acres Antique Gallery

I really like this brunch spot, located in the basement of an antique gallery, that used to be a school (I was told) and the largest collection of antiques I've ever seen. The restaurant is only open a few days a week and reservations are only taken from 11am- 1:30pm. It's a three course meal that consists of appetizer, entree and dessert. The menu changes every few weeks and you have a selection from a list of three items per course. It's beautifully decorated , but since it's in the basement, it's pretty chilly so bring a sweater. Oh, and it is way off the beaten path. Expect to drive two-lane, curvy roads to get there. In fact, google maps had me on a one lane road for over a mile on my way there. That might be normal for some, but it's kind of scary for me...

It's Glitzy, fellas! And it's way out there in the middle of nowhere. But if you're asked to go here by someone you care about, do it. It won't hurt. Your loved one will be congratulated for getting you there and you'll be praised for being a good sport. I went for lunch with my wife and left well fed by nice people. The restaurant and adjoining antique store are housed in a former school building. The restaurant is in the basement and is bedazzled to the point of insanity. In a fun way. The food was quite good! You're given a preset menu with a few choices to make. The portions looked small when delivered, but I was full in the end. They do not serve alcohol but you get a tasty mocktail upon seating. After your meal, you can explore the vast expanse of antiques and creepy dolls and other stuff with eyes. You'll leave knowing full well that they all come to life late at night and clean. Because the place was spotless in spite of being full of really old stuff that I can't imagine turns over with great speed. But I know nothing of antiquing, so... The grounds are pretty, the food is good, the folks are friendly, and you'll score points with someone special.

This is why i hate giving 5 stars for something that isnt exceptional. This was so special. A friend surprised me with it... wouldnt tell me anything. Its a antique gallery that is like none ive seen AMAZING. downstairs is the restaurant and i highly recommend doing the lunch and leaving time to explore the shop. I am a rather picky eater and i thought it was good. But the decor and experience took it to new level. Would be great girl lunch, mom and daughter, date, anniversary or place to propose. Its magical! Only open for lunch and not every day. NEED RESERVATIONS!! 3 COURSE MEAL. Starter, entree, dessert. You have 2 or 3 choices for each.

Lovely and attentive staff. Food was a delight. I enjoy the cool atmosphere at this lunch only restaurant. This is my third visit and the food has always been well made and tasty. 3 courses are the rule here appetizer entree, and desert. Menu changes every few weeks. I had grilled cauliflower in a aioli, stuffed portobello mushrooms and a sorbet duo. Apple Refresher is awesome !

Quick trip to Lexington for lunch and antique shopping. We made reservations ahead and enjoyed lunch at Glitz. Our party of four tried everything on the changing menu! The food was all fresh, tasty, and well plated. The ambiance was Rathskeller/Hollywood Glam. Staff was highly attentive and the entire experience delightful. Attached to the restaurant is a HUGE antique shop with both over-the-top and affordable items. A great pairing for an afternoon out. While out of the way, you will find your way back! I know I will!

Visited for my bday with my husband. This place is so visually impressive. Everyone was hospitable. Our server was excellent and we ended up finding out she's a part of the family ownership...a daughter. How cool?! She really provided the best service & exceeded our expectations. Three course meal was a 5 out of 5 & my husband agreed. He also loved the complimentary chilled apple cider beverage, we purchased two bottles in the antique mall area. Spent time walking through the mall area, very nostalgic. This is such a treasure here in KY. Very scenic drive from Lexington. Definitely returning with my loved ones. Perfect bday experience!!!

Aptly named!!! Everything about this place is beautiful!! You could spend hours browsing the antique paintings, furniture and beautiful jewelry. The food was delicious and the dining atmosphere is beautiful as well with soft lighting and cozy tables. The service was great and the food was delicious. My friends and I had a wonderful time.

The elegance of the Glitz.

The Glitz is like having a touch of Downtown Abbey in the heart of Nonesuch, KY! Make a reservation for this little gem and It's almost as if you've received an invitation to dine at the estate house itself! Take a drive through the beautiful countryside of central Kentucky to the middle of nowhere - and as you do, you can begin to leave behind 21st century stress and allow your mindset to be transported to the beauty and opulence that we loved so well in the popular BBC Drama. Roll up to Irish Acres Antiques - a converted 1930's brick schoolhouse with 30,000 square feet of antiques and worthy of a place in the Abbey itself... as you enter, the most delicious aromas waft up from below and suddenly you are twice as hungry as when you arrived. Descend the stairs to the Glitz - the restaurant portion of this experience -- and it is an experience -- don't come here thinking you're just gonna get lunch -- and don't come without reservations-- but do come to this unique and wonderful experience -- where you'll be seated amid glamorous, award-winning decor, by friendly professional staff, at this lunch-only establishment. And while your surroundings are royal the dress code is not. Casual tourist attire is fine. (I won't tell the Dowager if you don't). Relax and start your lunch with a signature non-alcoholic apple cranberry refresher served in a champagne flute. This alone is worth the trip. Just to experience this little delight. Then cast your eyes over the menu- which changes every three weeks but should always have something to please. Choose from three appetizers two entrees and several desserts for a three course meal at only $29.95. But let's not talk money - let's talk about the food!!! The glorious food. I started out with a dreamy butternut squash, sweet potato bisque with a dash of maple creme. I don't even like butternut squash but -- the magic in that bowl -- changed my mind. A bit later my entree arrived, which, for me, consisted of chicken breast, Angel hair pasta and vegetables that were so much better than I am describing here. Just trust me. You'll love it. And then dessert. Ah, dessert. Should you have the grape champagne sorbet or the Nonesuch Kiss, (the house specialty). I'll leave you to decide because you can't go wrong either way. In between the courses, you have choices of water, teas, or regular or hazelnut coffee that is specially blended for the Glitz. You'll leave happy, with your palette, tummy, and wallet satisfied, and feeling like Lady Mary herself. How long you bask in your new found royalty feeling is up to you -- but at least all the back to the city!

The atmosphere was great and the staff was very nice. Loved browsing through the antiques. The Glitz is a special treat as it combines a fun atmosphere, delicious food, excellent servers, and a wonderful selection of antiques and collectibles to view. The drive to the Glitz goes through some beautiful countryside.. The service, not only from the waitresses and waiters, but from the staff at the front counter as well. Everyone is always so friendly! The beautiful decor, it truly is breathtaking every time you walk through the door. The menu changes with the season, but I've never had anything bad at this place! My wife had the Potato Soup And I had the Well Dressed Egg. The Hollandaise Sauce was AMAZING! but the highlight was for me was the Scotch Bonnet Chicken. My wife who is not a fan of pork Tuscan Polenta .The cranberries coupled with the grape vinaigrette was a was a delight for the taste bud. I do not like meringue so I avoided the Nonesuch Kiss pie and opted for the Champagne Grape Sorbet, while my wife, choose the Pumpkin cheese cake. If you like pumpkin, you will fall in love with the pumpkin creation topped with a warm pecan Praline sauce.

We had a bridal luncheon for my daughter here and the food was exceptional, the staff was exceptional as well. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. So thankful we had the opportunity to visit.

The atmosphere is super cozy and we felt welcomed from our first steps in. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and we met Michaela who took fabulous care of us for the evening! We settled in to a couple of their specialty cocktails (midwinters night dream and cardamaro manhattans - yummy I'll say) and the Brussel Sprout starter. Let me say to come hungry because the portions are large but yummy. The sprouts are a meal all by themselves! But there's more! I had the porcini rubbed filet and Teresa had the cabbage confit. Both portions were sizable and while I know she loved her cabbage, I was in heaven with a perfectly prepared filet that just melted in my mouth. Plus the asparagus spears and the Okinawa sweet potato mash were perfect accompaniment! Sadly, there was so much goodness we ended up bringing some home and we'll have to come back for dessert and another menu sampling. All in all a very memorable experience and a great place for a birthday dinner! But we'll be back just because! Special closing shout out to Michaela for taking such great care of us.

I ordered the burger without the bun or fries, and it was so overly salty that I struggled to finish it. My wife had the CACIO de PEPE, which tasted quite different from what we're used to, and the pasta was overcooked for our liking. My brother-in-law ordered the fish tacos, which were easily the standout dish at the table. My sister's chicken cesar salad was decent but nothing particularly memorable. The restaurant itself feels a bit unexpected for a rural setting, which may help explain its strong ratings. For me, though, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again--more of a "fine if someone else suggests it" kind of spot.

I enjoyed the Caesar salad immensely, generously coated with rich dressing and garnished with anchovies. Then I had the lamb chops with mint jelly, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Located in a mysterious historic building with no signage, I don't think I could locate the club again honestly. This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

I absolutely love this type of service, though my biggest challenge was deciding which delicious-sounding dish to pick for each course! Every plate we had was fantastic. The scallop course was perfectly prepared, and the sweet squash and wild grain soup was rich and flavorful. The duck breast that followed was beautifully cooked, and the apple tart was the perfect ending -- sweet, warm, and comforting. Rodney's is a genteel bar/eatery in a restored house with an upmarket seafood & steak menu, plus outdoor seating. For our opening course, we tried the Sea Divers Scallops. These were tandoori-rubbed and served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The scallops had a good sear and a slight crunch, with the tandoori rub offering a mild, earthy kick and a hint of chili powder flavor. The scallop was light and melted in your mouth. The Thai chili sauce added a sweet heat combo that complemented the scallops perfectly. We then shared the Lobster Bisque, which our server recommended. The bisque was very creamy, with a slightly thicker, velvety texture than typical bisques. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like it had cheese in it, which it did not. It had a salty, slightly paprika-spiced flavor, while the sherry added a slight nutty note. This was an excellent dish and worth the drive itself. For my main course, I ordered the Lamb Chops. They were char-grilled with roasted garlic mint demi-glace and the Potato de jur, which is smoked Gouda au gratin. My lamb was spot-on medium-rare; however, the char was a little hard and bitter, especially on the edges. This was present in most bites. The mint sauce added a touch of sweetness and depth to the meat's flavor. The potatoes were cooked through and offered a slight chew. The Gouda was creamy and nutty, pairing well with the potatoes, though it needed a bit more seasoning. My wife chose the Filet for her main course. She ordered it medium rare with Weisenberger white cheddar grits and green peppercorn cream sauce. Her grits were cooked well and not overdone; the cheddar was only topped on the dish and not melted into it, but it did offer a sharp bite. We both found them to be bland and in need of seasoning. The peppercorn sauce was creamy, with the onions adding texture, crunch, and a slight sweetness, while the peppercorns popped with flavor and mild heat. The steak was seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare; it melted in your mouth. However, the hard char on the edges added a heavy, bitter flavor to most bites. Rodney's menu features appetizers, soups, salads, prime beef selections, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. They offer a full bar with beer and soda selections. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will offer suggestions and advice. The Fat Man says that Rodney's on Broadway is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
