Went there on the Fourth of July. When walking in the hostess greeted us right away and was super friendly. She guided us to the table with no wait at all. We sat down with the menus and we were off looking at what to get. The server took about 4 minutes to get to the table for drinks and returned promptly. We put in the appetizer order for the chips and queso. Very good. This is though where things went off the rails. The server basically disappeared for about 15-20 minutes. We finally placed the dinner order. I got the chicken fingers and my wife got the salmon. The food was good. My fries were cold but they were still ok. Refills were taken by the manager and server brought them. I am starting to think something was said because our server was not nearly as cheerful as she was at the beginning. We had two great meals at Cheddars! Lots of parking available and both times we were able to walk right in and were sat immediately at a nearby table. The first visit the restaurant was mostly empty. It's a large restaurant - Our server was good, and we immediately ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta and chicken tender salad. I forgot it came with complimentary croissants topped with honey butter, de-lish and a treat! Food came out quickly and it was delicious- our favorite was the chicken Alfredo pasta. Large portion size, chicken was moist and tender and came with a piece of toasted garlic bread. The salad was good too, large size with tenders that were moist. On our second visit we ordered the chicken tenders meal deal and the lime chicken meal. Both items came with two sides, for an affordable price. Portion sizes were great and again chicken was moist and tasty. Overall we will dine here again when we're back in town. We were surprised by the fast service and good food! read more

Ordered the meatloaf for take-out, with mashed and green beans. The meatloaf was edible, but very badly burned on the outside, to the point of some parts of it being inedible. So disappointing for a restaurant that we have loved since it came into Danville. I'm wondering if they left the burned meatloaf for take-out so people couldn't complain on the spot. We were glad to see there was a Cheddar's in Danville, so we decided to give it a try for a weekday lunch. We had to wait for someone to come to the front to seat us, but then we were seated right away. We placed an order for the loaded fries, two salads, a vegetable plate, and a burger. Our salads arrived first, along with the buttery croissants, and I would say they were the best part of our meal. Good size, fresh greens, and the croissants were a perfect accompaniment. Next our meals came out, and the appetizer along with them. Our loaded fries looked like they had been sitting under the heater for a while. They were not fresh, and when our waitress noticed she offered to get us a fresh order. My husband's burger was a premade patty, and there were no onion strings like on the smokehouse burgers he used to order. My vegetable plate featured lukewarm veggies. The loaded potato was lacking in butter and sour cream, the carrots seemed wrinkled and not appealing, the green beans were fine, the broccoli casserole tasted good but I wished it had been hot. Our fries arrived around the end of our meal so we ate a few and brought the rest home to reheat in the air fryer. Our meal, which cost around $40 for lunch, was edible but nothing about it would have me craving a visit to Cheddar's anytime soon. I had a table right away at Cheddars and ordered a chicken Caesar pasta salad with a bowl of potato soup. The soup came first. It was warm but imo mediocre. The salad was super generous in portion and made up for the soup, the chicken was hot, the salad was cold and the pasta firm but nicely done. I'm going to go with two stars but that's being generous. Many things have happened since I moved away from home. Cheddar's was one of the first that moved into Danville after the Applebees, O'Charleys, and other pitiful restaurants made their claims there. I was in the area and with family. Cheddar's ended up being where they wanted to go. I will say, my salmon and baked potato were good. Even the Wisconsin Cheese Bites appetizer I made them order was good. That's where the two stars come from. With everything else though... such a disappointment. Two of my family members ordered ribs and both couldn't be eaten. The meat couldn't even be forked off the bone. Dry. Overcooked. Totally awful. Many people can say food is bad or a restaurant is awful but when I tell you I was straight up stabbing and trying to cut the meat off those ribs... it wouldn't even budge. The service... was practically non-existent. The waitress was nice when she was around. I think the issue here is that it seems they keep both sides of the restaurant used. It's split in two... one side is the bar side and the other is the restaurant side. Our waitress had our table and the rest of the time she was mainly on the other side of the restaurant. Our drinks weren't checked on. After our food came, we weren't checked on... not even once. The waitress FINALLY came back to ask if we needed the bill at which point my mom spoke up for the members that ordered ribs. The waitress said she'd tell the back... she went away... came back with the check... both rib orders were there. What happens when you have trash food at a restaurant, normally they would discount you or not charge you. My mom then pointed it out again and both rib orders were knocked off the bill. Cheddar's would likely be my last choice in Danville. I've also had numerous bad experiences with Cheddar's here in Louisville over the years. I'd rather go anywhere else than to go there, but when with family; What can you do? From looking at other reviews and after my experience at this location, Danville is about to get a Drake's, Texas Roadhouse, and I think a few others. I know COVID has made it hard to find wait staff and employees, and it is just so sad. I like this place OK, but no matter the circumstances, waiting longer than one is used to for drinks and food is slightly frustrating. I 100% know it isn't the waitresses fault, but the lack of people willing to go back to work makes me not want to go out and eat because it isn't like it was before COVID, even with all the restrictions lifted. The wait for our table wasn't bad at all on a busy Sunday. The food was good. We just need people that want to work again! We visit this location about 4 or 5 times a year and have always had great service and food. The last time was for lunch and we were relatively early. They were out of Ribs so I ordered a cheeseburger. we got no knives in our utensils, the raspberry in my lemonade was almost nonexistant, the bun on my burger was cold (like right from a frig cold), not even toasted or warmed up. Great menu, lots of options for everyone. Came yesterday for lunch and got the dijon chicken and mushrooms, and my friend got the tenders with grilled shrimp. My chicken was a little dry and rubbery, mushrooms were lackluster. The chicken was served on top a bed of rice with mustard, THAT was delectable. For my sides, I got a caesar salad (it was well dressed, a good solid salad) as well as a baked potato. The potato came with cheese, sour cream, and butter. I'm sure you could request for bacon and chives if you wanted it FULLY loaded. I didn't get to try my friend's tenders but they were GIGANTIC. Like, absolutely massive. He ordered his with a house salad and mashed potatoes. We also got a strawberry lemonade and honestly I was surprised to see that it didn't come from a fountain (bravo!). I started out with the drink something call Tiki. Very good, and refreshing. It's what i call a creeper. Pretty, light, and fruity. My husband ordered the sampler as a appetizer. I've came to this cheddar's everyday with my dad since the grand opening and I loved it. Over the past few years we have stopped coming here for the following reasons: 1. The service is friendly but slow. My buddy waited for almost an hour and a half for his food and finally got it when I finished my food and got the check. Along with that, sometimes they will forget about you and won't come back to you until you are ready to pay. I do understand the constraints such as customers that need to be attended to but I feel as if they could do a better job checking on customers. 2. The food is alright but doesn't match the order sometimes. Me and my father loved to come here and get steaks every week and would always get it medium rare, but the more and more we came, the steaks always came out well done or close to fully cooked. I take pride in my steaks but it's not the same anymore. Not to mention, things like baked Potatoes may also not be cooked all the way either. It's like they just throw it out as quickly as possible. I understand if you have a lot of customers in the restaurant but, I'd rather wait for my food and get the correct order than something that I didn't ask for. 3. They can not really accommodate large family groups. Yes, they have big booths and larger tables but if you really wanted to come out with bigger families whether it's for special occasions or just gathering, chance are you will be waiting for quite sometime as they only have one big table and nothing else.
